Cassie Hale (played by PandaGirl)

Cassie sat up in a tree, swinging her legs under her. She had just barley managed to climb this tree and decided to sit there as a reward. Her parents sat nearby watching her as she refused to come down. "I like it up here, the tree provides textures I can feel to make my way around it." She said arguing. Her house was nearby, and it had smooth everything! One wall of the house felt exactly like the other and Cassie couldn't stand it.

Her head perked up as she heard a slight whistling of a bow nearby. It hit something with a thud and then another came and did the exact same thing. "Mom? Dad?" She called down to her now dead parents. She couldn't hear their breathing and thought they had just went back to the house without a sound. She had no clue they were dead. "Hello? Is anyone here?" she called into the darkening forest, her senses alert to any noises.

Silence filled the air and suddenly there was added weight on the branch Cassie was sitting on. Her keen ears might have heard the slight whisper of wings, unnoticeable by a normal human's ears. Isobel covered the girl's mouth. She brought her mouth close to the girl's ears and said in a voice barely louder than a whisper, "I'm not going to hurt you, but the people down there will. I can get you out, but you have to trust me. We don't have much time."

Cassie did in fact hear the rustle of wings and looked down when she heard them, expecting to see a bird on the lower branches. She felt the hand cover her mouth and the whisper in her ear and was surprised that she didn't hear the distinctive breathing of a human. She nodded when she listened to the girl talk, yes a girl, and relaxed a bit.

Down below, heavy footsteps could be heard by them both as something not quite human emerged from the trees and started feasting on Cassie's dead parents. She could smell the sickening stench of rot and the smell of fresh blood being spilled. My parents are dead, I know it. Cassie didn't allow a tear to escape her eyes because problems couldn't be solved with tears.

Isobel fought the urge to throw up and for once was glad she couldn't see. Whatever was feasting on the poor girl's parents wasn't very clean with it. "C'mon, we have to go. I don't want you to end up li--" she stopped herself before she finished. "You're going to have to hold on to me if you want out of here."

Cassie turned slightly on the branch. "How do you want me to hang on?" She breathed, trying not to disturb the thing below them. There was multiple ways Cassie could hang onto the girl, The waist, the neck, the back. She just didn't know which to do.

"Just wrap your arms around my neck, and try not to wriggle too much." Isobel might have been a bit embarrassed about being so close to another person, even if she wasn't attracted to females. There was so little human contact that she got. Embarrassment didn't register though, with the fear of the creatures below.

Cassie nodded and wrapped her arms around the girls neck on the first try. I don't think she knows I'm blind yet. Cassie closed her eyes, prepared for whatever would come next.

Isobel wrapped her own arms around the girl. Then, she took a breath and jumped. There was a sensation of falling for an instant, before she snapped out her wings and used the to get higher up and away. She was less focused on stealth now, and the creature below might have heard them but they were safe now. "Don't suppose you've ever flown before!" She had to raise her voice over the sound of the wind.

Cassie hated when her feet left the ground, so naturally she screamed. She didn't care that the thing below might have heard her, she hated not feeling anything. "NEVER!" She called when the girl asked her if she had ever flown. "Thanks for helping me!" she added, trying not to move unless necessary.

"No problem!" Isobel made a series of clicks from her mouth occasionally. "How's the view?" She asked almost longingly. She had no idea that the girl was as blind as she was,but she'd never seen the view herself.

"Uh....... As far as I know, high?" She said, her answer ending almost question like. She heard the occasional click of the girls tongue and just thought it was out of habit. "Where exactly are we going?" Cassie asked out of curiosity then out of actual anxiousness.
(Sorry for my late replies, I'm multi-tasking. >_<))

"I've got a hangout of sorts in an abandoned house a little ways from here." Isobel wasn't really sure what to make of the girl's answer. She listened, trying to hear if they were being pursued. If they were, then their pursuers were being very quiet about it.
((That's ok (: ))

"Ok." Cassie simply said, time lost in her head. She had no clue how far up they were, how far away from the house they were, how much time had passed, or anything besides she was elevated above the ground. Her purple hair whipped around her face and Cassie spit it out of her mouth.

Isobel finally started getting lower and the two of them went through a large hole in the roof. She landed and let the girl go when her feet touched the floor. The house was falling apart, but would still be able to serve as a shelter, at least temporarily. She was breathing hard now. Isobel had never carried a person so far. "Name's Isobel." She said in a short sentence as she got her breath back.

Cassie stumbled and fell to the wooden floor, scraping her knee, when Isobel let her go, "I'm Cassie." She replied, hearing Isobels heavy breathing. "Are we safe here?" She asked, clearly freaked out by her parents dying and by the beast surprising her.

Isobel nods. "It can't track scent through air and I started out flying in a different direction until it was far behind then flew here. It'll be searching in the wrong direction, but if it does show up here," She grabs a staff that was leaning on the wall with a wicked smile. "I'm ready for it."

"Ok." Cassie said, unsure about how to keep the conversation going. "So you can fly?" She asked, the question slipping out before she could stop it.
Isobel (played anonymously)

"Yup." She was a bit prideful of her wings. Isobel couldn't imagine not having them. They were a jet black that matched her hair. "It was a bit hard to adapt to flying after I was blinded, but I use a kind of echolocation, like bats."

"Can i-" Cassie stopped before she could get the question out. It was certainly rude to ask if she could touch them, and she had heard something wishing not to be seen or heard from below. It was just the slight rustle of leaves, but she had heard it. She must have heard it too.
Isobel (played anonymously)

Isobel froze. She'd heard it too. She raised her hand in the direction of the sound and a bright light shot from her hand to the sound, hitting it exactly. She'd only used enough power to stun, not wanting to kill it in case it was a stray cat or something. There was the sound of something hitting the ground. Isobel approached it, staff raised high.
