HRA

Says you. I get into a war every five days or something. XD
Well in a complete population crisis, humans can reach sexual maturity at around 12-14, with a 9-month gestation period and year-round fertility. If we assume every surviving female becomes pregnant as soon as she reaches child-bearing age and does so twice a year averaging one child per pregnancy that's a theorical maximum of 72 children over her child-bearing life. Not all will survive and she may die young limiting this to maybe half or a quarter of that but... it's much better than my guys.
HRA

XD Oh so much better. That's why warring you will be interesting. Because your ships carry so few men, but has the potential for so much more.

And Im just "primitive" lol.

I think this line really is nearing its in. I estimate less then several more posts will be needed and then I can go ahead and do like an epilogue/summary type deal. After that, time jump and start a new.

A little off topic, but I did a quick scale measurement of the Valhalla to an Imperial Cruiser and I did a double. Thing is almost 8x long, and 3x tall/wide than the Valhalla.

My frigate would be like freaking shuttles to that thing.
As far as I can tell... HRA stated both of our wars... first he attacked Calypso over some 'artefact' and wiped it out, then he attacked the Hand because Nariel was getting angry over the continued fighting and the Valhalla almost crashing into them, which caused her to threaten war on both of them if they didn't stop shootingeach other and start talking.

I still think Robbins over-reacted... i mean it was a diplomatic cruiser. She couldn't do any serious damage to the Bismarck and all they had to do was stop fighting and talk to each other, which happened a couple of minutes later anyway. Heck, Nariel practically admitted that she was half-bluffing since Terelains hate going to war.

Hmmm I think Im going to say "provoked," because TECHNICALLY the Coalition and Terelians started the war, by declaring them.

Though, the Terelians kinda dragged themselves in on this one. So admittedly its kinda half their fault the Hand blew.

And I agree Robbins over reacted...which is why you dont leave grunts in positions with command authority :P
It's the curse of being the oldest and most advanced civilisation in their region of space. They see it as their duty to help other races, and that sometimes includes trying to head off wars before they begin.

But if Nariel hadn't lost her cool when the Valhalla almost crashed into the Hand and Robbins hadn't decided to go 'guns and glory' on us...

Funny how a war that's probably going to cost millions, if not billions of lives, starts because of the actions of only two or three people.

"The greatest intentions can lead to the most harm"

And its interesting how a lot of things played out.

If this...if that...

Hindsight is 20/20, so Im quite sure that our "audience" can easily go back and debate who was to blame on the height of escalation everyone's at now.

And of course the "who gets to hang the criminals" debate starts soon after >.<
The Valhalla says they offered ot mediate, but I don't think anyone on the Hand actually got that message. They were kind of being shot at, poisoned and set on fire at the time. They might have missed the offer.
Alonzo Topic Starter

Im 100% sure they missed/too busy to pay attention.

Only thing they were able to really get to them was the duel between Ascrith and Cigol. To which I believe everyone on the Hand promptly ignored, just like all other attempts.

And actually...I think your post is the perfect conclusion to this journey of Interstellar Wayfarers Terel!

I'll update the summary accordingly, "close" up the thread, and start up a new one soon enough.

Oh and make sure in the new thread you re-paste your ship status.
Okay then... off to war we go then it seems.

I still haven't got a pic of the Aldareth, and my drawing skills are as close to zero as you can get whilst still being able to draw stick men
Alonzo Topic Starter

It does seem like war eh? Well at least I made a snazzy title for it :P

And no sweat mate. As long as we've a general idea its fine.

Though, off topic, if you did ever want to get your hands wet in 3d modeling or such, (formerly known as) Google Sketchup, is pretty easy to use and could be fun for that.
HRA

Let me muster up my fleets! :P
HRA

Btw, how is this set up? Do I create ships over and over again? I find that a little... Slow for me. XD

Especially with my army size. XD

What do you mean?
HRA

Do I create a new set of statistics for every ship I want in?
Alonzo Topic Starter

Oh....lol essentially yes thats the rule.

BUT what Im going to say is, that youll treat this like story characters. So your main ship will have a full stat sheet, the one youll use the most. Other ships that you may bring in, dont necessarily have to since theyll be in a supporting role. Sort of a temporary POV. Now should it become, they used a lot progressively over time, then a stat sheet will be needed for them.

And the summary has been updated.
HRA

I'm going to enjoy writing this...
Everything with a name is going to be used. :P

So here's an interesting question. What if we just did the stats for the CLASS of ship? For instance, the Hellraiser is my Flagship, so it's another class on its own. So stats are separate for it. But what about just Battleships? Should I have stats for just one class that covers all ships from there?
Alonzo Topic Starter

Oh sure thats acceptable. As itll be easier for you to modify them if they are specialized or whatever later on.

I thought thats how everyone does it regardless lol
