Red Dwarf was a British sci fi sitcom set on the 'Jupiter Mining Corporation Vessel Red Dwarf' the premise being that the Liverpudlian slob crewman 3rd Technician David Lister is the last human alive after getting stuck in statis for 3 million years after the ship suffered a catastrophic radation leak that killed the entire crew.

His only companions are the hologram of his dead bunkmate, whom he hated, Arnold Rimmer, a neurotic, prissy mechanoid servant named Kryten and Cat, a creature that evolved from Lister's pet cat.

Despite the dark premise it is utterly hilarious and a cult classic. The dark humour is amazing. It recently made a bit of a comeback with a short new series.

Look it up, it's probably one of the funniest sci fi stcoms ever to be made by we Brits... which means better than anything the Amercans ever made :p
