His wings shot forward to trap Shinigami's neck between the wing blades. " You are correct, young one. I am your trial. Pass it and I will tell you why she ran. Overconfidence is just one reason" The blades were pulled but passed harmlessly through his neck. Light reflecting off the blades revealed them reforming. " Surpass her expectations and I will give you an augment of your choosing"

He created portals around him and opened their end around the room, "that attack wasn't from you", he said as a chain linked to a dagger came to him through a portal, "I don't need to kill you" he said as a ice spell appeared and froze every part of the room clearing a circle around him, "best way to get rid of you is to freeze you. But I hate the cold. Also don't act like you can't move. Now you won't bother me with liquid attacks", he said as light arrows made a circle around him, "Tobi make finding the heart top priority", he said as the guardian dispersed into more and smaller guardians that ran around everywhere

Vaulkar growled at the sight of the ice but with it on the room...his growl changed to a chuckle. " We can hate the ice together then" He slammed his hand down to shatter a portion of the ice. " I think you'll find the heart won't be so easy to find"

From the darkness his tail lashed out to cut through the ice. When it vanished an ice spike flew towards Shinigami's feet. Spikes of ice erupted from the ground to impale or cage him.

Once more Vaulkar laughed. In the direction of his laughter, Kuroi could be seen standing on a spike with her scythe at the ready. A dragon tail flipped behind her before fading away.

A large amount of mana surged from his body and broke all the ice from him, "he's acting too slow", he said as he looked up in the direction of the dragon. He then looked at kuroi with blue eyes that displayed the ocean mirroring the sky. The mana made a blast around sending ice in all direction and corner, "later then", he said then disappeared to vaulkar side his eyes back to normal and his sword ready, "you were the one who challenged me. Know your place", he said giving him a mana strike

" Know my place? Look again boy" The Vaulkar he struck splattered in a shower of acidic blood, covering everything in sight. Kuroi's eyes turned red as she stretched her hand out. The blood gathered before her to created frozen blood daggers which where hurled at Shinigami.

She faded away in blood only for a crimson ice dragon to appear and blast Shinigami with more ice from behind. " She isn't here!"

He appeared on top the ice dragon, "I know", he said the in punched it hard enough to beat it to the ground, "and for you", he said as mana slashes flew around then disappeared appearing unto the ice dragon tail and hitting him, "shut up", he said jumping to the floor as the ice all melted and the ground started to boil, "I guess I will use rage then"

The ice dragon melted into blood and spread through the air. It gathered to reform Vaulkar in his true form. Damage done to his wings and tail knit together as though nothing was done.

He roared a challenge as his wings kept him above the floor before lashing out in a flurry of rapid attacks. A single drop of blood was all he needed and he strove to obtain it.

Once again portals appeared and their ends three his attacks back to him, "like I said", he said then disappeared and appeared where the earth was, "know your place"

The turned attacks ran through Vaulkar's body harmlessly. " So close yet so far. Why are you holding back?" He grinned as he looked through the portals. " Your not getting any closer to the heart this way"

He vanished from the room to join Shinigami on the world. Standing up like a human, he studied him. Another equally untouchable but with more abilities than simple creation. Her choice seemed wise but he dared not reveal the truth without sufficient evidence.

Creatures and Nyctorans nearby suddenly burst into blood and flowed into the dragon. The magic rippled through his body like water. He faded into light only for waves of light and dark to rush towards Shinigami from all sides. At the same time the air turned to poison in the area and his wings curved forward to trap him in the blades again. Mercy would not be granted this time.

A teleportation circle appeared around him. It took everything around him on top of the castle where light arrows were waiting, "you too", he said teleport sting him along with his attacks, "I said quickly"

Wings spread to hide the sky and take the arrows. " I'll give you a reason to end it quickly" A light glowed behind his plating. It melted away to show Kuroi's heart hiding within. " I am life and death, mortal. Can you truly protect it better than I?" It was hidden again as his hide 'healed' shut.

Violent winds, mingled with blood, raged around them. The blood was as blades, tearing through flesh and soul to drain the life force. Birds flying nearby showed what could become of Shinigami with this attack. Their life and blood stolen only to be fed to Vaulkar. Every arrow that the blood touched also faded to feed him.

He threw him up and flung him down into the secluded town side, "you revealed what it looks like in public. You failed", he said throwing a bottle of poison at him which broke and its contents began to float around him, "heed"

The chains sank through his body as he stood back up, laughing. He looked at the droplets of poison around him and nodded. " Your use of the poison has earned that" A claw was raised to the poison an twitched before touching it.
" Go back to the castle" He gave a smug look before sinking into the ground.

He turned back to the tower and began to walk there. A sword flew to his had and began generating slot of dark mana.

The tower had since cooled and the guards returned to their posts. With the sun rising the Luminary was gaining power. A voice floated on the wind, inaudible yet held magic. The sun appeared to move over the tower to blind him.

He took out a paper then opened a portal. He want in it and came back two minutes later. He threw out a paper with the anti magic circle and activated it

The light failed but the Luminary sat at the top of the tower, scowling at the pest. He should have been dead but it seemed that his allies were. The death of the dragon was absurd however. She lifted her head to peer into the distance. " The breaking of a curse, powerful battles, all that magic has built in a single spot. Your more useful running amok. Take the tower as thanks for driving her out of hiding"
