He looked over to his observer then threw his dagger connected to the chain at her. As soon as it got to its end his switched side with it the dagger being at the other end of the chain and he being where the dagger was, "you mind explaining to me why you're alive"

The trick made her look up but she remained relaxed. " I left the tower before I flooded it. You are a pest to kill though" She narrowed her eyes at him but made no move to attack.

He stopped midair surprised she answered, "you're different. You're auctually the first to try to win. The rest are all too basic. The trap was something, I'm afraid if I let you go it would be the end of me", he said as the dagger came to his hand, "well tell me then, why do you go along", he said droping a piece of paper down

" Oh is that so?" Gracefully she rose to her feet and swayed back forth, turning to face the ocean. The dress she wore was of fine material that mimicked the motion of the waves when she moved. " I did not become the leader of this city for nothing"

She held her hands out to cup the rising sun in them. Within its light she was able to see every move that needed to be made. " I go along because I want to. Such a compliment you gave...I feel confident in our future now" The light gave her a halo when she looked over her shoulder to smile at him. A question, desire to know what or even who he fought for begged for an answer in her eyes but now was not the time. The halo grew in intensity to swallow her up, leaving him alone. Her voice floated on the wind with a final statement. " I do like to win so I cannot stay. Until we meet again"

The temper I mean", he said before she fully disappeared then jumped down the castle and grew out his wings. He activated the paper which made a circle around the tower then disappeared. Despite having a clan of Valra, the size of the castle still made it feel empty. His unique mana drew Averin towards the entrance. He walked in then looked around. He made a small fire ball and sent it to find kuroi. He followed it walking from behind

The path leading to Kuroi was full of tricks and illusions. Eventually the blood trail reappeared but was sparse compared to before. It marked a set of floating stones that led to a wonder in the castle.

For all the storms and clouds outside, this place was calm, serene, and somehow sunny. The place was comfortably warm with soft grasses and marvelous flowers about. Elegant crystal trees grew and weaved about to create fantastical forests and mystical structures.
Water so clear that it's sound and reflected light told of its presence, poured from the castle above to a lake. A few streams branched out to pour more water into the impossible sky below.

It was by this lake that Kuroi was sitting, working with magic in her weakened state. Her bloodied shirt was torn off at the bottom half. The strips, with runes written on them, were layed out before her with some resting in the water. Whatever she was trying to do caused her to grab a few and toss them into a stream to be washed over the edge. She then sighed and fell to her side.

He telepored to her side immediately, "you really don't know when to give up do you", he said as the fireball disappeared and he picked her up watching the blood flow around, "you got pushed and got stricken by something in the back didn't you. Why did you pretend to be fine then, I would have come see what was happening quickly", he said as his swird and chain dagger were dropped and both flowed around him, "let's go to my room, my bag is there. You're bleeding a lot"

Not expecting anyone to be around, she jumped at his voice and flipped her head towards him when she was picked up. Her tension quickly faded away at the care he showed. She nodded and reached up to her chest. Dark magic pulled out to reveal a bladed feather and more blood ran out with its removal. " You had just saved Yuuma..." She said with a soft smile. " I acted fine so you would get the rest you needed. Averin...he had to interfere."

Looking back down, she watched as her blood stained the clear water. There was still something she needed to do but she could not argue. " I'm not saying I am perfect...you were right. I never expected anything could harm my heart and now I must pay for it"

Looks like I don't have to nag you then", he said walking out of the room, "you already know your wrong. And also, sleeping why you were hurt would be something that wouldn't let me wake up. I have it in me to go on", he said making a portal to his room and laid her down on the bed, "turn on your back please. Also why aren't you healing fast enough. Are the weapons still in the wound"

" You wouldn't wake while I'm hurt?" A most curious statement that cast different ideas in her head. Was it because of the guardians or something else?

She smiled at the comfort of the bed, a testament to her skills of providing for her guests. It would need to be cleaned when she recovered. " Yes, the weapons are still there but half the damage was done to the heart" A skeptic look was given before she shifted. "He wants to help and my stubborn pride has gotten me nowhere" She reminded herself.

A small white dagger flew to him, "no dude are you trying to kill her", he said then took a poece of metal and turned it to scissors, "ok let's do this", he said then began tearing the cloth in the way out then durveiled the wounds, "I guess your heart is pretty weak. It won't kill you but it hurts when it's damaged", he said as light began to spread the holes then darkness became strands and hooked on to each piece, "doing it one by one is frustrating so might as well do it all at once. Auctually, one by one but just fast", he said then the darkness began to pull a piece out one by one every two seconds, "averin, I know you're watching. A bowl please"

She chuckled at what he said and braced for what was to come. " The price of being forced to this world too soon was placing me close to mortality, remember? My heart is indeed my Achilles heel"
The strands felt weird as they were removed. She shuddered then sat still once more.

A silver bowl was placed near Shinigami after a few minutes. " For not seeing ghosts you are very aware of us"

Well I knew that you of all won't want to miss kuroi being treated", he said removing all the pieces then placed them in the bowl, "so that's why they've being following your heart. Well once I'm done here I have business with that guardian I think he didn't really explain much", he said as bandages appeared on his hands and they had a wet spot, "so you poisoned the bandages too. Oh this isn't poison", he said smelling it then look to averin, " I know she wouldn't want me to see her undressed so you wrap her up.", he said throwing the bandages to him, "I have business to see through", he said then started walking out, "don't touch my bag "

" Oh, Vaulkar? Be mindful how you ask questions. He enjoys speaking in riddles or confusing phrases" Kuroi grabbed at her shirt to keep it close when she sat up. Little blood drained with the removal of the weapons. She swayed back and forth until Averin grabbed her shoulder to stabilize.

The bandages were caught in the ghost's free hand. " You do have manners for all your talk" Averin said folding them to work with them better. " She'll be good when you return"

Ok then", he said walking into a portal that led vaulkar, "ok come out here", he said with his sword out, "I have a good idea to defeat you now. Be glad there's a new spell created to beat you"

The heart had been placed back in the middle of the dark room. Kuroi's state of health reflected by the icy mist that now poured off it. " Is that so?" The answer rolled through the darkness like thunder. Around the frost ring the floor became blood and rose until the dragon blocked its light.
He looked at the sword and smirked. " You believe you can actually hurt me with a blade? Don't make me laugh"

Rage went to his blade and he threw it at him. Rage created a chain connected to the balde and where the blade touched, the part became a black of earth, "illegal but effective", he said as the blade came back to him, "you surrendered. I can take you again if you want. Now tell me, what did that woman plan. She left her weak self to do something. Oh, averin told me about how you answer in riddles so I will make it clear, I hate that", he said catching the blade and rage went back to his finger with with the stone and became a ring, "make it quick, I have spell barriers to form. Someone dangerous is on the loose and she is why kuroi is done for
Now. If she finds out you're the guardian then kuroi is surely doomed"

Feeling Rages aura was enough to make Vaulkar get out of the way with great haste. His eyes grew bright as he growled. " I will not fight you again with that power in a weapon" It was eyed with suspicion as he layed down by the heart.

" Straight answers..." He looked away only to grab the heart. " Keep the wards for yourself. She said if you passed the trial to give this to you" Red mana danced around the heart until it balanced on the tip of his claw. " She has deemed you its guardian now"
