" Aww. Admit it you would be bored if you knew every detail...or scared" Nasr chuckled as he tossed the skull up to balance it on his fingertips. " You have been fighting something since you found out about it. If you knew that you would create an heir would you dump Kuroi and endure her ice?"

Shadow started laughing hysterically; smacking his legs as he staggered to the edge of the area. The other two stared at him with total confusion. " It was not THAT funny...wait you know something!" The valra pointed to him with the skull.

The skull vanished when the light washed over them. He stared blankly at his empty hand for a few minutes. "Hey!" he looked towards his friend. " That was a beautifully clean skull! No flesh on it! Ugh..." The think of metal on stone rang out when he flopped back.

" Now, back to the situation at hand" Shadow said as he held a couple strands of light up. " Lumerin has already explained to you how a god can be 'killed' but a single exception exists" Two strands of darkness appeared in his other hand now. " The god of death can claim any life he or she wants, including another god"

The claim to Shinigami's name echoed through Nasr's mind. " Sooo...you are saying this impostor I heard is just using my friend's name to say what he is? Would explain why he offered the heart of Solarium"

Two sets of the strands, consisting of light and dark, were twisted together. " Yes, but as for hearts..." he turned to face Shinigami. " Tell me, why is it so crucial that Kuroi dies? Do you even know?" Purpose resided in his eyes as he played with the mana strands.

" I shall set your feet on the right path. You have shattered an empire, ages in the making. Nothing new and it will try to rise again" He took the twisted strands and began to wind them together. " This time you shattered the grey line which allowed them to return with ease. Black and white are pure again with the races taking sides"

He held up the braid, a fine mix of light and dark. " Now imagine if the very seeds of this world manifested in those of the purest light and dark, coexisting perhaps?" The braid became a large black egg which shone like a gem. Shadow rested his head on top of it with a smile. " The age of Solarium is dying and the world begs for rebirth. Such an act is filled with pain and often dangerous but which is better, saving the mother or the child?"

Why pick but if I had to guess its save the child", he said drawing more circles around himself. He activated the circle and a dome of mana covered the ground like a protection spell. He walked in created a chair and sat down, "are you aiming in. Please do you're answering questions", he said bring out his book, "and Nasr I'm going to ignore that"

" Sometimes it's not possible to save both...and there are those who will disagree with your choice" He got up and looked towards the castle. A distinct song reached his ears, though potentially inaudible to the others. " She'll return soon"

The egg was rolled across the ground into the mana bubble. Shadow used it like a seat, shifting it back and forth as he rolled on his toes. " I may be answering questions but even I seek to steer the course of life. Ask carefully"

" Question time. Right, time to go Pavol" Nasr stood up and grabbed the kid who was looking at the giant egg.

" But I want to know what's going on and why he has an egg?" He said pulling his hand free.

" The egg? I'm pretty sure...know what, fine but we sit quietly" His legs folded into a neat pretzel when he plopped down next to the luminary.

Oh yeah who's the god of death. Who are you and why use my name. Like you do something like have a kid someone will go finding me. And my people are serious about their names. Why kuroi. Who's the grand planner and yeah who are you", he said looking at the shadow then looked around, "ha I thought I got rid of one now another one is here. By the way I'm talking about powered beings and I don't think lumerin talked about killing a god cause you know, it's me I wouldn't tell me how to kill me", he said crossing his legs ten looke to Nasr and pavol, "what did he say the last time I was listening and not listening at the same time. Yeah who are you"

" You're serious about knowing who I am. Alright then" He sat up and reached down the collar of his shirt. " I'm not the one claiming to be you. That would be the god of death" His hand was pulled back up to reveal a pendant that matched Kuroi's exactly. " You can call me Shadow. Hers to be exact"

" Hers? Sure just another guy using her pendant to earn trust" Nasr sneered.

" Hmph, ask Chaos then or wait for her to get back" the chain was flipped over his fingers when he shifted his hand to the side. " You ask why Kuroi, why is she marked for death? The simple answer is Solarium and Sonne have ordained it. This is true but she is left in the dark as to why" He pointed at Shinigami with a stern look. " Why is her blood black when her parents and siblings blood are gold and silver? Your own observation"

" Because she's pure darkness" Pavol stated. " Her brother and sister have some light in them just like their parents"

" Oh, you are a funny one" Shadow grinned then ran his finger along the egg, drawing something. " The god of death has been forgotten or even neglected. His name is forgotten but in ruins lost to the ages a legend sleeps. It says he was the darkness which birthed the world"

Jade it is", he said closing the book then looked up , "first we get rid of our intruders and then we have another talk hopefully one with lumerin. Pavol prepare another wave of blast", r said as the dome began to slowly disppear

He smirked at the little slip up. It would be fun watching things progress. " Lumerin doesn't even knnow. Remember, he said he was unsure why her blood is black" The scythe appeared again when he flicked his wrist; singing beautifully from hitting the egg.

An unenthused look was given as he stood up. " Jade...really? For taking names so seriously you have an odd way of choosing them" A silver circle was created when he spun the blade then flipped it on his shoulder. " Well, it's a long story why I'm a guy. It has to do with a mirror and if you ever see it, you might just see a female version of you looking back"

Dark wings glided through the air behind him. The others got up with Pavol nodding his head. " We get to scare off others now?" His tail started to shimmer with light. The sound of wings made him look back in time to duck under Kuroi's wings.

She landed by Shadow and rested a hand on his shoulder. " I'll rebuild the castle soon. Averin is recovering. You can go back now" She began to head to Shinigami's side when Shadow spoke up. " I wouldn't get too cozy yet. Besides you'll be having a little chat with your father soon"

He chuckled and returned to the unassuming Shadow when she faced him. " What!? Did you...but he...SHADOW!"

" And now the moment of defend and explain" Nasr said.

Ohh why can't things be just simple. Also I going to kick the god of death if i see him", he said standing up, "lumerin too. Pavol look to the left and clear a path. I will take care of the rest", he said as light mana began to gather around him and s massive wave erupted as yhe done disappeared

" Because life is never simple" Nasr looked up and sighed. Life had been simple until they decided to destroy a tower. Regaining such simplicity felt almost out of reach.

" Kick the god of...what did I miss?" As she turned to watch Shinigami's mana wave, Pavol turned and let loose his mana. Its gleaming curve lit the castle and continued on. It seemed useless as nothing appeared to be nailed.

Ha I see. They're gone now. Good I was getting tired of just using light", he said as dark mana surrounded him and he disappeared

He appeared at the garden looking around for the demons and disappeared as went to the liabray and kept changing places to find the demons

" Anyone care to explain what's up with him?" she looked at the other two and began to walk about. Despite the clean clothes, she held a limp in her gait. Nasr watched with the knowledge given. How much damage was she hiding considering the state of the castle?

" He is annoyed. Hunting or defending is what I think" Nasr said as he walked to the edge of the area. " The demons were too easy to defeat. There has to be a catch right?"

"Oh yes. The catch is very simple" They turned around to find a Luminary standing behind Pavol. Her hands rested gently on his shoulders. She should have been a demon they way he froze. " it was all bait. For what? I'm not telling"

The way she embraced the boy sent chills down Nasr's spine. " Keiran..." He vanished into shadow to search the castle.

Silver and light flashed alongside Pavol but the lethal blade found only air. Seeing that he was still standing there, Kuroi slapped him with the side of it. " Hey! You can defend yourself"

He glared at her as he rubbed his cheek. " I know but..." More light drew his attention towards the egg. The Luminary now sat on it in a charming way. " She's so pretty"

" You're so sweet, Pavol" She said with a chuckle. " You'll be turning eight soon? I have a special gift for you"

His eyes lit up and he got a massive grin. " What is it!?"

" Oh? Just a little...investment in your future. Little goddess..." Her gaze shifted to Kuroi as she ran a finger along the top of the egg. " Aren't you a bit young to have eggs laying about?" A gruesome crack mingled with her laughter and light filled the place. When it faded, Kuroi was left standing between two egg halves with a slick mess all around her. No, Luminary anywhere with the exception of the kid.

" Oh my, she returns" The voice of the luminary said. " Careful with that temper now. No man wants a wife who might kill their children"

He kept looking around and came back to kuroi, "I smelled a rat", he said looking around then saw the egg, "that egg wasn't even fertilized but it was still beautiful. Huh well I will go check on the people you go rest up. The demons are gone though they wanted something. My mom is protecting the people so they would hit a dead end there so they should be looking for something else. For now go rest up", he said then disappeared

" It uh...she has my thanks and...I'll do that. You need your rest too. Don't neglect it" She smiled and watched him vanish.

The scythe faded away as she grabbed half the shell. It was strong yet surprisingly light for its size. " Come, Pavol. I shall teach you something I'm sure you'll enjoy"

" What is it?" He said taking her outstretched hand.

" You'll see" They vanished into shadow with the shell.




Some Valra were starting, or trying atleast, to associate with the humans. Inei and Keiran were standing with the others. Yuuma was sitting behind Inei, hiding his face. " Just drop it, please...I didn't do anything"

" Why!? Were you playing hide and seek? I can ask her to join the game" Keiran piped in.

He shook his heads Inei sighed. " Let it go for now. You're older than your friend so it's time for you to take things seriously. None of us can stay in this country" She rested a hand on his shoulder and knelt down. " You want to be strong right? It's time to grow up"

Leave. Where", he said appearing beside inei then tapped her shoulder, "everyone ok?"

She flipped her head around to see him and stood up. " We're still debating where to go. Pyre has placed the final say on Nasr's head" She replied.

Her gaze shifted over the others before falling on Yuuma. " Everyone is fine with the exception of him. He'll be fine when he gets over the embarrassment"

Ha I see. Wait who's pure and what do you mean where to go. What happened here sorry I was literally in the dark", he said looking around

" Pyre is my dad, knucklehead" Nasr stepped from the shadows and bopped him lightly on the head.

" Let me guess, you've been in the dark too..." She scowled and crossed her arms. " I'll let you explain to your friend what I mean. What happened is-"

" Yuuma was watching a girl while hiding" Keiran added.

" No I wasn't..." Yuuma sank further, nearly folding in half.

He started giggling then began to laugh, "really Yuuma too pure for that. Say I could teach him the new spell", he said trying not to laugh, "anyway let's go outside

Now Nasr bit his lip now. " Teach him. I have to see that!" stepping closer to Shinigami, he whispered. "If he did watch a girl, catch him in the act and cast it on him without being seen. That will be priceless"

" I'm good...just...just forget it" he mumbled.

" You are right! Some fresh air will help you forget all about it" Nasr grabbed the back of his shirt and vanished. A fragment was left for the rest to follow.

Inei glanced towards Shinigami with an empty expression. " I guess he chose where. We'll see you outside then" She guided Keiran through the swirling shadows.



It seemed Nasr had been doing more exploring than training since they stayed at the castle. The shadows lead to a massive garden that held no entrance or exit. One portion held marvelous plants that loved the dark, these were tucked under a portion of the castle. The rest of the garden almost resembled the crystal lake, a floral-like forest, and fine fields.

Above, the stars shone bright; giving enough light to highlight the fine structures reaching into the sky. Some held pure water that poured into ponds, streams, or fountains below.
