A glare was shot at the blood dragon with a deep growl. He heard those who required his aide calling in the silence and huffed. " Don't do anything foolish" Curtains pulled towards the door as he rushed out.

A smug grin was on Vaulkar's face now. " So, what tricks are you holding?" Kuroi stirred while he waited for an answer, rolling to her side before opening her eyes.

" I'll burn!" He shifted his tail then marched past them. The other direction was shrouded in a strange sweet smelling fog.

" Better than staying put" Yuuma shrugged before following. What was the strange presence he felt?

" He can't use fire like that! It just explodes." A smug grin showed and he climbed into the trees. Below the land turned to a marsh. " We lost his trail anyway"




" Late!?" Her head grew light despite the glare. " This is another of your jokes, isn't it?"

" And if it is, is it such a bad one?" Vaulkar taunted and shoved her forward a little.

She whirled around to strike him, hand changing to that of her werewolf form. Though she passed through him, she smirked. " Hard to pull that joke off when I can still change form"

She winced and looked back at Elena like she was hit in the gut. A blush showed while the silent desire echoed in her mind, she would be elated if it was true. " W-why this...joke?" She buried her face with the ridiculous question.

A dark marsh, with the skeletons of an ancient marsh scattered throughout the trees, was revealed. Faint runes, like the one on the crystals, marked some of the trees and ruins. " Now this...I can handle" Yuuma lept across the fallen logs and ruins with ease, though not as graceful as Nasr.

" Eww! Put the fog back!" Pavol clung to the tree he was on now. It's texture made him shudder. " I agree with Shinigami! End the search!"

" We can't just leave them behind" He knelt down and ran his hand over one of the ruins. In the water before him rested some large black feathers and what appeared to be the leg of a boy. He was too focused though and assumed them logs and foliage.




When the second one appeared, her raced. " Two!? But I'm not...I-I mean..." A deep breath was taken as her hand returned to normal. She sighed and refocused on Elena. " Thank you...really. They are perfect. The idea is still new to me and...late?"

" I will ensure you don't touch them...please, just look! He may still be alive" Yuuma turned back to Shinigami. His expression mirrored theirs as he felt their pain. " Please...be alive..."

Pavol grumbled as he looked about. A few light orbs were tossed out to extend his view. " All I see is endless swamp! No blood or body parts...but there are scratches on some trees"




The tone in her voice stirred doubt among Kuroi's own thoughts. She could still shift forms or would they cease later? She sat still, staring at Elena's hands until her thoughts caught up. " This...isn't a joke then? Then we're...from just a dream...How would you know?" A smile kept showing and fading as she continued to battle her doubts.

" Dream or Tobi did what she requested" Vaulkar grinned. " That would have been something if you two woke up-"

" J-just...let Elena speak...if what she says is true, my body will confirm it soon" Blessed, the word along with Elena's reactions continued to erode her doubts. The smile appeared in full as she thought of how Shinigami might react...or how she hoped he would.

He looked around to find them, "they fought. Tobi can you do any more", he asked her

The marsh hummed with energy. Within it was the presence he felt earlier. He turned to face the scratches and lifted his head. " Remove the trail...but...regrouping is risky but a solution may be found. I...well...I could guide use further in"

" Into the muck!?" Pavol slid off the branch and barely caught himself. " Tobi lost him...how would you..." He pulled himself back up and sighed. " Find him?"





The laugh struck like a well placed blade. " You're just messing with my head!" She flopped back on her bed to find his image staring, as always. It may have been the first time she saw it with how red she got.

Blood mingled with the swamp and scent of the dream fog left a vague trail. Perhaps the strangest thing was the lack of scent. Keiran's was the only to be found.




The kitsune form was taken when she sat back up. Ears pinned, she stared Elena down. How to answer the question? Either way was sure to result in another prank. " There's a reason for it..."

She jumped down and strode past her as if nothing happened. Inside was a storm that twisted her stomach in knots. "Steady..." She thought while focusing on her steps. The door was only a few steps away when relief and sorrow dealt a lethal blow. Suddenly she bolted out the door only to puke in the hall.

A portal was used to eliminate the mess. She flopped to her side and watched her world spin. "What's wrong with me!? Guts pouring out doesn't disturbed me but this...I-I should be fine" It felt like her head had become a drum to her heart. Each beat echoed Elena's words into the open " ...Wait...did she laugh the word yes before I yelled? I...I can't tell with her...I'm ok. Just...rest" Though her eyes closed, one ear tipped towards the room.

" I have never seen her so messed up before" Vaulkar chuckled. He sat up and grinned. " She does so well hiding her break downs" His gaze shifted to the door. Would she return?

Don't ask questions", tobi said in a disgusted mood and began following the scent.



Oh. She knows I can eat her right?", she said with a smile

He looked at Pavol and shrugged. " Time to go. I suggest hurrying so she doesn't get more cross"

" But the swamp its..." The boy grumbled as he looked down. " If it means leaving this place faster...fine..." He sighed and began to follow.



" Eat her? Now that's a first" Vaulkar chuckled. " I'm sure she only wants one to do that...if you know what I mean"


Eventually Kuroi got back to her feet and shook off what she could. The kitsune form as she leaned against the wall. " Time to...calm down...Training will help unless she follows me there"

She peeked into the room for a moment and saw they hadn't moved. With a sigh of relief, a portal was opened and she began to step through.

Tobi kept following till she reached the source. She left him after that

The trail ended at another large growth of crystals. These glowed with mana beyond creation. Sitting at their base was Nasr, torn and battered. He clutched tightly to a blood soaked coat, Keiran's.

" You didn't...steal them...did you, Nasr?" Yuuma proceeded forward with great caution. Pavol stayed back but looked around. Blood painted the landscape around them and various Nyctorans sat about mangled, all missing their hearts. " This place is nasty!"

" ...Why would I...?" He lifted his head and looked at them all. One eye was crimson but revealed no less pain than the other. " I saw Keiran on my search...but lost him like this" The coat was tossed at their feet. " I cannot reach where they took him"





He took his blood form and rushed between Kuroi and the portal, grabbing her wrist before reforming. " Off so soon? Seems she's not done with you yet" He said with a grin.

" She can follow me if she's that determined!" Ice crept up his wrist but her claws failed to shatter it. " Huh!?"

" Your too upset. " He severed the frozen portion and restored his hand. After testing it, Vaulkar picked her up and brought her back to the bed. " Better here than where others, especially the old ghost, can hear" He said shattering the ice.
