Well you seem to be doing well", Elena said sarcastically as pavol fell in her habds, "another one. What does he expect of me?", the portal closed

" You will not hunt her alone" Nasr stepped behind Shinigami and turned to Yuuma. " You can use time right!? Get over here!"

" M-me!? But I...I've never killed another!" He fiddled with his necklace while staring at the ground.

" No one said you had to..."

" Do you now?" She said with a grin. " Your answers will come in time. There is one who knows where the temple is" Her gaze shifted back and forth. " I don't see her here. Such a shame"




Ice erupted from the shadow's face when she struck it. " Shut up! No one gets better unless they're challenged!" She struck the shadow with enough force to send ice shards flying.

It took Pavol a few moments to realize what happened after he fell through. He flipped his head about then clung to Elena without thought. " It's so dark"

" And it shall get darker, kid" She stated while resting the blade on her shoulder. The shadow inhaled, swallowing all the light then let loose a blast of darkness. Using the purple light to see, Kuroi turned to catch and absorb the attack. Dark bolts and flames danced over her, barely lighting her form.

There there. You mind telling us who. By the way I like your dress, can I burrow it", tobi said looking at it

Hag, not now", shinigami said

Ok ok. Just saying. Can't have good dresses anymore now", tobi said, "kuroi?"


Awww look at her try so hard", Elena said holding pavol, "there there don't be scared of the dark. Think of it as a place of dreams. It's like a blank canvas, there's nothing, then you can make something", she said as a shield formed to shield them from the blast, "hey kuroi if it fights like you then ahouldnt you I don't know....fight with combat magic. Again magic is your strong suit. Leave the hand to hand stuff to your sister"

" Borrow it? Foolish rodent" She sneered and turned away. Her body faded with every step. " Yes...Kuroi is the one who knows. Now get moving before your too late" Her words were harsh in the end. Another shimmer made her form ripple like water then she vanished.






" Make something? But...but dark is evil..." Pavol shuddered in her arms, watching Kuroi. A little light appeared when his tail feathers began to glow.

She glared at Elena and the dark mana flared around her. " You dare compare me to her!" A deep growl filled the void just before the dark mana swirled around her. From it, a dragon form both terrible and beautiful appeared. She breathed dark ice, which burned, between them before releasing the stored mana on the shadow.

It shrieked and faded only to tear at her wings from all directions. Spirits rushed to her, healing the wounds while they were shredded. Her tail, of the reaper's blade, cut through the darkness to drag the shadow out again. This time, she took her kitsune form and summoned fox fire.

" They look like spirits..." Pavol said while looking at them. Something about the fire kept him transfixed, almost hypnotized.

Well nothing can save her. She insulted tobi", shinigami said making a portal to kuroi

Oh. Nah she's not worth it. This dress though...it's a keeper", tobi said holding the dress the luminary was wearing

Shinigami looked at it, "she was wearing it when she disappeared how..", he was onterrupted

She isn't the only one that can disappear", tobi said folding her new dress

How will you even wear it", shinigami said

Oh. Won't tell. By the way I prefer her. Let's get her sometime", tobi said with a smile, "glira will soon be dead to be used anyway", "tobi said as they both walked through the portal

Elena looked at her with a blank face, "you know it to be true. You spend more time doing research than combat, just admit it. Magic is better suited for you. Your sister was better suited for hand to hand while you are better suited for magic. If I'm wrong then why all the mana", elena said pointing at her fires

" Umm..." Yuuma said as he looked at the dress. " Th-that won't stay long...The luminary kept moving...because she was never here...I'm familiar with the scrying magic...she used"

" Never here!? You mean it was all an illusion!" Nasr exclaimed.

" Y-yes...that was her...secret...to escaping Tobi's magic. L-look" He pointed to the dress as it shimmered and burst into sparks of mana. The luminary's laugh echoed through the marsh one more time before they were shoved through the portal.



" Make up your mind before I prove my fighting skill on you!" Kuroi growled as she turned towards Elena. " I've fought, bled, and even died in countless battles unlike Sonne! The only reason she fights is because she needed to contain me!" The shadow lunged forward and sank its terrible teeth into her shoulders. Flames danced between them as it scorched her. Fox fire nailed it in the head until it reeled in pain. Again, she drew on the spirits in the place to heal her then took her human form once more. A streak of silver cut across its neck but it also healed the wound, using shadows instead.

While it healed, she faced Elena and took a stance only humans would know and saluted, the stance of a human soldier. Focus filled her eyes as the memories of that time woke.

The air became chilly and her presence faded from existence, drawing other shadows back in. Pavol trembled as his nightmares came to life. One by one the shadows vanished by magic or physical blow which struck with an unnatural precision. Stronger shadows stepped in with every fallen one.

An ember of Rage appeared and imbedded into her heart. Suddenly, magic was no longer used and one could hear the force behind her blows. The large shadow staggered about for a few minutes before an elegant werewolf appeared on its face. It dissipated when she tore the eye out with her claws.

Darkness trailed her when she turned back to the lesser shadows, restoring the eye it had stolen. Everything was fine until Shinigami stepped through the portal. Blood flew when Nasr's and Yuuma's necks were split. They fell and her claws fell on Shinigami's neck yet stopped before any harm was done. "Stand down!" Rang through her mind.

Death, how sweet it was to deliver but they weren't supposed to be here. Horror drove the focus from her gaze and she scrambled back. " You're not...I just..." Spirits rushed to heal the boys when she pointed at them. A few more steps were taken back before she turned and ran.

What's her problem", shinigami asked looking at them

I don't know", she said holding the dress still

Wait how?", shinigami asked looking at the dress then touched it. It was real

I stole it of course. Magic like hers always leave a trace", tobi said then burned the dress, "nevermind. I will take something good enough next time. Shouldn't you follow her", tobi said pointing at kuroi

Well I would but....will they be fine", he asked looking at the boys

They won't die they aren't that much of side characters", tobi said

Ok you're here", Elena said then fling pavol to shinigami

Thanks", he said catching pavol then dropped him gently, "I'm going to get your brothers coarse. So he can be buried right. Your family members might be there and you might hate me for this but I don't plan on sparing them", he said kneeling beside pavol and patting his head, "I'm sorry"

With that said he disappeared and appeared beside kuroi tackling her down

Pavol yelled when he was tossed. He grew silent when he was caught but kept his eyes closed until patted. " Wait...kill them? But..." When Shinigami vanished, he reached out in a vain attempt to grab him. " You can't do this!"




A yelp escaped when she hit the floor. She twisted to sink her fangs into the culprit but froze when she saw him and reverted to her human form. " Why must you always see me at my worst?"

Why do you alway try to hide your worst", he said patting her head, "come on. Tell me what's bothering you"

A little smile showed though she looked aside. " I'd rather no be not be one the floor to discuss this. Let's go to my..." The image of Elena's gifts flashed through her mind. " I'll share what's bugging me in your room, alright?"

That means we have to be on my bed. I don't mind", he said opening a portal to his room and walked in holding her hand

No word was said till they passed through the portal. " Of course not" She smiled. It faded as she watched the two fall in her mind. " I did not mean to cut them down. The spirits shall ensure they live" Her grip tightened for a moment then relaxed.

Seeing his room again brought back the early memories. The first of his devious antics made her heart race. Even now, the runes she placed, with the promise of giving him more, remained around his door. She could hear his mother giggling if she could see her thoughts.

Well we were the ones who walked in on you training", he said then pulled her towards himself fro a hug, "tell me what's going on. You should know the last I saw you I had to send you home for being druged"

She rested her head against him and sighed with a gentle smile. " I would have preferred waking like this..." Eyes closed now, every sound was listened to. The silence weighed heavy but perhaps prying eyes were elsewhere.

" How do you put up with your mother? I'm not sure when she speaks the truth and when she's joking..." Another sigh but this time she looked up at him. Would she dare torment him in the same way? Her heart raced with the memory. It was all a joke or was it? She was sure she heard a yes buried in Elena's laugh. " She does Enjoy tormenting others...I choose to train to calm myself yet...perhaps I truly am weak to warrant her taunts"

You just have to get used to it", he said then disappeared abd appeared on the bed, "by the way Keiran is dead"

Her eyes opened again when his warmth disappeared. " ...The first and only...gone" She sat at the edge of his bed and stared at the floor for far too long. Every vision of the great things that kid might do shattered one by one. " What of Inei..."

She's being held with the beast of darkness. A place she said you know", he said resting his back tired, "there were a lot of children. They know nothing but killing. They don't even know pain. I'm planning of going alone to deal with them. If Nasr kills one more child he might lose his soul and yuuma and you both shouldn't be near such a sight. I need you to tell us where the place is so we can rescue inei and when that's over you take them back here. And make sure they stay here", he said as the mana circling him disappeared

" You know where that is" She pulled her legs on the bed as she turned to face him. " We had almost reached it during training. It's that half sunken temple. You sealed the beast away, which I would appreciate if you returned it to me"

Her hand was held out as if to accept something but she flipped it and rested it on his leg. " You know I'm familiar with death. There's nothing that will surprise me. Let me go with to ease your..." Her breathing stopped and, unknown to her, her eyes grew wide.

Would Elena appear to stop her for children that may or may not exist? Her blood ran cold now. There had to be way to get a solid answer. " No...you're right. I-I have some things to do around here anyway. Just...be careful, alright?" She gave him a gentle kiss the prepped to stand.

Sure. Wait I did. I forgot. We we should go now then. Since I sealed it then they want it. Wait where did I seal it", he said wondering then held her hand ,"can you have averin prepare some drink for when I go"

" You forgot..." She chuckled. " It can be stirred up to remind you" A smiled returned to her when she felt his hand. Everything felt like it would ok as she curled her fingers around him. " Of course, dear...and I shall make sure he doesn't poison or drug it"

With time of the utmost importance, Kuroi took a deep breath and steeled her nerves. " Averin!" Her heartbeat was deafening and time froze until the ghost's harsh voice hit her ears. " Young lady! I don't care what his mother has give-"

" Quite!" She roared while glaring at him. " I need you to prepare a drink for him to take with. Be quick and I won't leave until I can see it myself"

His gaze shifted between the two as he growled softly. " Very well. We are discussing those c-"

" Enough! Lives are the line now get moving!" She pointed towards the door with all seriousness. They stared eachother down for a bit before he bowed and flew off.
