As he was falling he gathered mana so he would fall slowly. Extremely slowly

Tobi floated to his side, "seriously go faster you're making gravity angry"

I don't see her complaining. And she's been pulling me down all my life she shouldn't mind this one time. By the way I didn't know you knew gravity", shinigami said with a surprised look

Seriously what happened to your brain cells. I didn't hit you that hard", tobi said, "get down faster. A snail could fly before you get down there"

Tobi...can snails fly", shinigami asked with a blank fave(gintama)

Well if evolution allows it..wait I meant that as a metaphor", tobi said knocking his head, "what did you turn that water into"

Steam. I told you", he said putting his hands in his shirt,

" Everyone must know we are here now the way they are arguing" Nasr sighed while looking up. A few feathers fell to the ground when he reverted back to a humanish form.

She chuckled and shook her head. " I can learn how to argue with his moth-" The steam around her froze to diamond dust in and instant as her eyes got huge. Wasn't Elena supposed to come along? A strained groan escaped as her mind reeled. "I hope she stayed to greet his father and tend to...this army or whatever. The bet with my father though...if that yes in her laugh...I'll find toys and other things in my room now! I know I will!" She thought to herself.

Her hair was bunched up in her fingers now. "Wait...wait...just calm down...you know there are more important things" A clawed hand on her shoulder broke through her thoughts and made her jump a mile. " AGH!!"

" Easy there" He said tipping his head. " Are you...ok?"

" Yeeees" She replied in an unusually high pitch. " I'm fine. Just...keep following the presence. I'm positive they brought Inei to the center of this place. We'll catch up later now get going!"

" Uh...right" He nodded and took a few steps back, watching her, before bolting off.

" Now for Mr. Freeze ass" She said looking up. A smirk showed with a single curiosity, what would he demand for warmth or as payment for making him do something?

Her kitsune form was taken and she stretched up, forcing herself through the tight area till he was seen. His feet were gently taken between her teeth before she dragged him down and tucked him in her fur. " Better?"

Yes completely better", he said laying down to rest in her soft fur

What are you now a child", tobi asked

No answer was given

Hey. You there", tobi said moving closer to him

He really...he's asleep", tobi said with a sigh, "he really fell alsleep. Oh if you're wondering why his mother isn't here it's because I'm here"

Tobi was given as a look of shock. " How would you...n-never mind. I thought she needed to be here?" Her ears flipped back then forward again. It felt too perfect but perhaps she was too jumpy.

More fur was nudged over to cover him. She smiled before walking down the halls. " He's fine. Everyone needs to be taken care of like a child once in awhile and..." Her ears fell to the side in a relaxed position. " I enjoy tending to others"

You di. It seems like you'll enjoy being a mother then", tobi said floating beside her with a taunting face and voice.

" You're probably ri-...what!? Now you're..." Her ears flipped back again when she stared Tobi down. Fur, though good for hiding a blush, gradually fluffed up. " Would you even tell me if you put us in the same bed that night?" Despite the harsh glare, her ears twitched up and down.

Such ancient ruins betrayed her heartbeat which her steps now matched. Each beat, a new spirit flame appeared to guide them.

Oh yeah. Elena asked me to do that something about wanting to make sure she wins the bet. Well I thought if he was going to make such a decision he should make it himself", tobi said rubbing her chin, "well why you asking. Did you hope I did? If so I can do you a favor next time"

" Thank you..." She sighed and leveled her head with her shoulders. The heartbeat faded from the halls and her steps grew steady. Despite the relieved smile on her face, a sorrowful light rested in her eyes.

" N-nevermind why...I'm sure we'll be together if that choice is made" She lifted her head and looked at him. " Or he'll make sure I stay put" A devious grin showed as desires and ideas ran through her head. Hidden behind one was Elena's voice from when she was drugged. She shook her head and focused back ahead.


The temple was more elegant now but puddles of black water began appearing on the floor. No magic could cause this stuff to evaporate due to what it was. Further ahead they could see it running down the walls and flooding the halls. She paused by one puddle and looked into it. Faces of souls swirled about inside. " We're close"

Well the scattering and screaming of souls should wake him up", tobi said looking at him

Shinigami just covered his ears and went back to sleep

Nevermind. He's not waking up.", tobi said, "let's keep going then. By the way where did the valra boy go"

" He hasn't had sleep in a long while" She said lifting her head. Her ears flipped about, searching for any clues to who they would face. " His two days to the end of the week is off. That told me what he did"

More spirit flames appeared and guided her ever forward. The black water kept getting deeper until it reached her belly. " I sent Nasr ahead. He should be at the center of this place by now"

A spirit hovered, just above the water, at a dead end. It's subtle song held a message that Kuroi understood and nodded. It sank into the haunting liquid and vanished. " Take him and ensure he sleeps well" She stated while looking at the water. " I shall return with the Valra before the sun rises"

If by take him you mean keep him from the fight. He will hate you for that you know. And I will let him sleep for that favor", tobi said picking him up and placed him on her back

" I know..." Her ears fell when she lowered her head. Tobi's words stung with how they were laid out. " Return him to the castle. He must know that I have his back like he has mine..." She dove into the darkness, vanishing from sight.

The human form was taken as she swam along. It was tough to tell if she was moving due to how silky the water was against her skin. Spirits muddied her mind with endless conversations or song. Minutes passed without any end in sight. Suddenly, the wisps grabbed and pulled her to the surface.

Before her was the heart of the temple but a blood soaked crystal sat in the center of the room. This one gleamed like transparent gold and silver with the rune for "metal" carved into it.

" Where are the Valra?" She questioned while climbing out of the pit. The water only reached her knees here. A sound like metal grinding against glass got her to turn in time to block a shower of metal needles.

" That attack was pretty weak, huh?" A guys voice said. " I was expecting a human boy but it seems the young goddess greets me instead"

Kuroi looked up to find a human lazily floating in a corner near the ceiling. His hair was blond, almost platinum, and metallic. A crown sat upon his head but was thin enough to reveal the rune on his forehead. " Who are you and where are the Valra!" She pulled out her scythe and took a defensive stance.

" Hm? Oh, we'll get to that but first..." As he stretched, the crystal glowed and set up a barrier to block anything from getting in or out. " I want things to be nice and easy"

Tobi sensed thw energy, "like I can just leave like that"

Hey tobi. Where's she", shinigami said opening his eyes

You're awake", she said

I noticed the change in fur. Why am I on your back", shinigami asked looking around, "where's she"

Oh. I'm just doing her a favor", tobi said.

Hey kuroi. What happened", he asked through the link

"You woke up..." She cringed but kept one eye open to watch this mysterious human. "Get some rest, love. I'll be by your side soon"

" Shared thoughts..." He said while playing with liquid metal. " Good until someone severs the link" The metal swirled around his hand as he slowly pointed towards her.

" Don't do that!" The scythe vanished from her hand when she raised them.

" Hm?" He lifted his head.

" You want easy right? The one I'm linked to will make things anything but easy once he believes something is wrong"

A few moments of silence passed before he nodded. She smirked and began to lower her hands when he finished pointing. The metal shot through her head like a bullet, knocking her into the water. "Now we can hear eachother but he won't hear me. Can't have you blabbing secrets on me now"

Her head sang in a piercing tone. A bitter glare was on her face when she got back up. " Yeah...you're of the First. Now the Valra!"

" Not here" He said looking away. " The male took her away after leaving a bloody mess" Mangled bodies rose to the surface as he stretched his arm over the water.

Hmm kuroi it's forbidden to link to other guys. Who's this guy and why do I want to kill him badly", he said through the link

Something wrong", tobi said

I'm not sure. She's with some guy", he replied

What about inei and Nasr", shinigami asked through the link

After looking at the dead around her, Kuroi glared at the human before her. He held a partial grin now. "Go on. Tell him about the Valra but NOTHING else"

" Now you're mocking the link" She hissed. The scythe appeared in her hand again as she began to walk the room. "They aren't here. He says Nasr took her out but I don't know if that's true" She replied to Shinigami.

Ok. Kuroi I want you to freeze him. Like don't go anywhere near him...and youre doing the exact opposite of what I'm saying aren't you. Listen Nasr isn't near me. We don't sense him so the chances of him lying are high. And what's his name and race and why are you linking with him. Seriously are you trying to make me angry cause if so you're being very successful. Tell me what you see so I can go beat him up", he said through the link

You seem pissed. The huy", tobi said

Yeah", he replied to her.

" Good. Time to go" The crystal glowed again when he pointed to it.

" I'm going nowhere!" A wave of mana flew towards him when she swung the scythe. Despite the power in it, it dissipated on a barrier of light. Something felt wrong for the power of a god to be destroyed so easily. " You still haven't told me who you are"

" Nah, I don't want to" He yawned. " Don't make me drag you with me. It would be bad for all of us"

Her movement stopped when she listened to Shinigami again. Bad wouldn't begin to cover the situation she was in now. "He's too damn lazy to give his name and his race..." She dropped under the water when more metal flew at her. When she sat back up, he was in her face.

" I don't think so. Let him be angry. Silence about the link and...well...you could tell him my race, he just won't like the consequences" A chain began to form in his hand when she took her dragon form and flew back.

Her roar was deafening as she filled the room with ice. It was so cold that the water froze by Shinigami and Tobi. " I won't have my relationship with him torn apart by the likes of you!"

He jumped down on the ice and switched places with her. Tobi seeing the changed sighed and just held the sword shaking her head

He began to itch his hand, "should've told her to burn him instead. Now I have to deal with the cold. Where's the guy that disturbed my nap. Be quick I want to go somewhere warm", he said looking around

" Damn him!" Kuroi yelled. The scythe was slammed into the ice, cracking it.

" You just made everything harder..." The guy whined as he brushed ice off his sleeves. " Oh well. I was expecting you anyway" He returned to floating in the upper corner but lazed against icicles now.

Another yawn and he looked at Shinigami. " Tell you what. We both want to leave this place right? Hand her over and we both can go our own ways"
