He stood up and stretched, “ok. Now let’s see if the body is back”, he said walking around. He began running outside

Open fields fit for planting or whatever he may desire greeted him to the south. The grasses shone like polished hair within the breeze. To the north and west resided forests so thick light struggled to reach through their branches. Mountains towered over the trees and stretched to the east. Falls and sweet rivers and lakes resided here.

Tucked just within the forest, behind the house, resided another building. Though hidden from view, light glinted off something, the window on a door left open. It's hinges creaked as it swayed in the breeze.

He ran towards the building.

This place smelled heavily of blood and a peek inside would reveal many beasts hanging from hooks. Beasts of all types, including lamb, resided in this cooled building; each at various stages of slaughter.

If he wasn't careful, he might step on Kuroi's arm or hand. She layed across the ground, one hand still clinging to a blade stabbed in a table, near the doorway. His awareness of mana would reveal she was missing the large amounts that she was known for yet in general she felt...different. A touch would reveal her typically cool skin to be warm and the wounds she did have...bled red instead of black.

He walked towards her and picked her up. He set her on the chair to sit down, “ warm. She’s never warm”, he said looking at her wounds, “the dreams. She’s still there”, he said placing her forehead against his then went back and hit her forehead harder

The jolt to her head made her jump awake, nearly nailing him in him. A gasp announced her consciousness and she grabbed his neck, fingers tightening fast, for just a moment. Warmth remained in her body though. " Shini..." She said once her eyes cleared. Her hands shifted to his head as she stole a kiss. " I thought...nevermind. I'm fine"

Fine. Why’s your blood red....don’t tell me..”, he said taking her hand, “nevermind. What’s going on?”

" Red!? It's..." A quick glance over her wounds fill her heart with angst. " He did it...he really...I can't be, I just can't!" A shudder ran over her body yet she took comfort in him. " I'm...human..." She said looking him in the eyes. " Not a changed form...really human"

Hmmm. Does this mean you cant guard against my tricks”, he said holding her chin up with a wide grin

A blush filled her face now and his grin. " Don't even...you are thinking about it. Don't try anything"

He picked her up abd jumped out the window. He flew back to the house, “I will take that as a yes”;

Was this all he was waiting for to continue his games? Her heart raced as different scenarios flashed through her mind yet was aware all could be false. Once at the house, she looked to the ground then to him. Dare she run or take comfort in the false calm he was giving? " I never said..." The look in his eyes made her blush more.

He took her in with and dumped her oh the chair, “now let’s see. Where to start first”,

" Your such a gentleman..." She said while flicking some hair out of her face. While he thought, she carefully got up and begun to slink off. Where to go was the only question.

He caught her, “and where are you going?”, he said lifting her and turned her to a child

" I'm going..." The tone of her voice sounded wrong and she quickly looked over herself. Her eyes got wide when she looked at back at him, realizing the size difference. " You plan to prepare food now?" She said with a grin. The corners of her mouth wavered though as she was sure this was just the beginning.

Ok”, he said changing her back to normal and hugged her, “I love you no matter what form. Don’t worry about it”, he said with a smile

" Sly fox" She whispered while embracing him. Tension from anticipation of his pranks faded in an instant. " Love you too. Good to see you back to your games" A peck on his cheek was given and fingers run through his hair. Hidden behind her smile was a realization of her situation. He became the sole defender. She would miss fighting by his side yet...one less worry on him.

Now now did this happen. So I can do it a lot”, he said

She popped him in the shoulder yet her smile remained. " My brother has that answer. You know him, he gives answers when he wants too"
