" The purple Raixi? Give me a moment" A portal was opened and she stepped inside with Nasr. When she returned, the Valra was gone. " You tagged her so I'll follow you...unless to want a ride" She lowered her head to him and waited.

Of course I do", he said jumping into her head, "I meant the chick we promised land but the raxai is a better idea. Oh we forgot pavol"

She chuckled as she lifted her head. " Very well. Raixi first, Matriarch after. Nasr should be awake by then" With a graceful leap she took to the air and ran above the trees. " The boy will be fine for now but I can pull him from the shadows if you need his help"

No. No Ed for that", he said looking around, "also I want to know why they gathered but never mind"

" You could still ask" She said shifting her eyes to look back. The link was used to find the magic tied to the tracked Raixi. No surprise to Kuroi, she had managed to return home which was too far to travel normally. A portal was opened and she ran through it to find themselves near the city of light. She bared her teeth and pinned her ears. " You'll have to get your answers later. As long as the other towers stand we can't enter. Let's finish the deal with the Cotricikal" The massive tower in the middle began to charge it's magic but Kuroi doubled back through the portal before it could fire.

Something felt off about the magic charging at the tower compared to the previous times she had fought the cycle. Had they changed their tactics since the last era? She looked to the side as her paws touched the rocky ground outside the Cotricikal cave. Did they learn from the past? What of the mastermind? Always a High Luminary was blamed and it made sense. No grand master was ever seen at the end of each era. Suddenly she ran cold under her fur and new questions filled her mind.

I was planning to send a blast to the tower. Well if you say so", he said then jumped down to the cave, "looks like we will get our answers after we are done with her"

" Even with your power you would find that tower impossible to destroy now" She vanished back into his shadow before they were too close to the Matriarch's territory.

Since he had repaired the city there was little to do but return the residents to their homes. The Matriarch was standing by the central crystal, making sure everyone and every eggs was in good condition. There were males sitting on the edge of the fountain or kneeling before her, faces buried and weeping as she tried to console them. The broken eggshells near by and their contents, whatever stage of growth they were in, said it all.

Juror, those eggs aren't auctually alive yet right", he said as the stone glowed and the shells began to gather with the contents backl. The eggs went back to their old form, "since they're not alive. You can fix them", he said to the matriarch, "kuroi, the deed to the land please", he said through the link

For those whose eggs were restored, they picked them up and looked over them. Seeing that they were healthy, the fathers ran home with them. Some even said their thanks to him. " They are indeed alive. Our roosters wouldn't lay them otherwise" She said stepping aside to reveal some that were not healed. Young Cotricikal and their broken shells lay behind her, dead. " You have driven off the foul beasts though and have our gratitude. Now about-" The sight of darkness gathering before Shinigami silenced her. A scroll appeared before him sealed with dark wax and the seal of Lumerin, just to make it look official.

Kuroi was sure he would find the Matriarch's statement strange. This race was on it's own after all. "This is...their unusual trait that I spoke of earlier. Their dream form is a cockatrice and...best to think of a seahorse"

I have no idea what that means for some reason", he said to her through the link, "ok here's the deed", he said taking the scroll and throwing it to her, "I've repaid you for the stone. You did a fine work with it. Oh the ones that were alive well", he said thinking, "they're your people. You take care of them", he said to her
"kuroi I haven't mastered the time spells yet so I won't use it"

She caught the scroll and opened it up to see exactly what piece of land they had been given. Once read it was rolled back up and she nodded. " I am pleased that you are satisfied with our work. I am pleased with what you have given. Should you require more do visit us in our new home" The Matriarch placed the deed in a pocket before turning to a young male who had lost his young. A hand was rested on his shoulder before she said more. " I did not demand you heal more. Death is inevitable after all. Those that are lost wait for us by Lumerin's side"

"Unless you truly want and explanation about what I said; I shall leave you confused" Within the shadows, Kuroi checked on pavol. "Time is a tricky element to work with but I see what you seek to do." For a time nothing occurred as she debated on whether or not to go through with it. The sound of shells shifting and piecing together could be heard. She allowed her voice to be heard this time. " Lumerin has heard your heard prayers and decided to give this rare gift of rebirth. Do not waste it"

At first the Matriarch looked upward and glared at the female voice but seeing joy return to the men made her relax. Many were kneeling with their eggs in arm, giving thanks to their lunar god. "We can go now" Kuroi said through the link.

You're a goddess after all", he said as he began to walk away, "so you mind explaining when you were going to tell me you could bring the dead back to life. Oh and don't said lunar did it I know you did.", he said after stepping into a portal beside his bag. The scythe was laying on it, "oh yeah", he said turning it back to a sword then put it in the bag, " you can bring pavol out now"

She stepped out of his shadow and turned to face him. "I saw no reason to bring it up. You are very powerful after all" The shadow became as water when she reached in to pull the boy out. He was held by the back of his shirt until she set his feet on the ground. " Freeedom!" He exclaimed reaching towards the sky.
"Shush. We don't need them finding you now" Kuroi grabbed Pavol's shoulder to prevent him from running out in the open.

Since pavilion wants I be useful then why for we put him to work",he said tapping pavol's shoulder with a grin, "let's have him learn healing spells for times like this", he said taping his shoulder repeatedly, "I'm gonna fill your brain till you beg for no more. It's also fort our own good"

Pavol flipped his head back and forth to look at them both. " Wait...really!? I get to learn all your healing spells!? Sweet!" His eyes were bright as sapphires now.

The boy's tail fanned and got in Kuroi's face. She parted the feathers to see and chuckled. " You may be a prodigy but I doubt you can handle every spell in his head"

" I was stronger than my parents. I can take it!" He said with pride, nodding his head as extra measure.

" Speaking of which..." She stood up and looked over the kid. " You find your father in the dreams?"
Pavol nodded.

" He set you back on track? Are you capable of fighting now?"

The questions made him look away. After a few moments of silent he spoke while tugging at the bottom of his shirt. " Y-yes...I don't want to get scarred up though"

She chuckled and looked at Shinigami. " He's all yours then. I'm sure those spells shall help him be more confident about taking damage"

Wait I'm the one teaching him. Of course. Why can't I push it to someone else. I'm not a good teacher", he said as Tobi flew to his hair again but didn't play any tricks, "ok let's see. The spell to put limbs back together. Wait that's a bad first step. Ok, spells to calm down pain", he said nodding, "wait you saw your dad in the dream. He must really hate that I scared him to death. Well he's in a better place now. It's the mom I should think about. Anyway let's go. Oh since Nasr is injured we have a good practice dummy to work on"

" You did say you were going to fill his head till he couldn't take it, the gist anyway" Kuroi said leaning against the wall. One hand rested on it as she waited for them to finish up. A smile showed as she listened to him decide where to start with the spells.

" Yeah I saw my dad!" Pavol perked up once more with a mischievous grin. " His is mad at you but is glad I'm alive. He said he wants to see you next time you dream" Despite the smile, he looked at Shinigami with the confidence, almost pride, he had when they first found him. " Mom will haunt you for eternity if she finds you but I didn't see her"

The wall behind Kuroi grew dark and she stepped back into it. It's haunting sound caused the boy to whirl around. " More darkness? But..." He looked over his shoulder and stared blankly at Shinigami for a few moments before snickering. " Nasr is a test dummy? What happened?"
Kuroi called thrtough the portal. " Walk through and take a look" He looked ahead and shifted his feet. Once enough courage built, he stepped through.

It was chaos at the castle. Nasr was awake now but pinned to the ground by his kin. One even held his beak shut. Claw marks in the floor and wounded Valra showed why he was trapped. Deep caws of protest were trapped in Nasr's throat while Pyre and Yuuma stood by his broken wing; holding it in preparation of setting the bones.

Oh no. I feel like hr meant something else by that. Luke I hope you die soon meaning. Just saying, I'm not sure if I want to see him. As for your mom, you see her, run", he said then looked st nasr, "Oh no no no what are you doing to the practice dummy. I need him to train pavol", he said looking at the sight then started laughing, "He got pinned down by everyone", he said then took a deep breath, "do what you have to"

Knowing the intent behind his dad's words, Pavol chuckled at the answer. " If you don't find him I lead him to you" He opened his mouth to say more but finally noticed the strange scene. " What are they doing?"
Kuroi stepped up beside him now. " You'll see."

" Practice dummy?" Yuuma and Pyre both said as they looked at Shinigami. Nasr glared at him then to the boy. " What are you going to do to my son?" Pyre glared at them now but quickly refocused on what they were doing. " Keep him down until he relaxes! Yuuma?" The dragon righted his grip on the wing and nodded.

A single, rapid movement was made and a pop was heard loud and clear. The other Valra doubled their efforts to keep him pinned. Nasr quickly calmed down which allowed the others to finally back away. His father to carefully moved the wing to a folded position. " Yuuma, would you mind getting the bandages?"

" Of course" He bowed before running off.

One question, two who wanted to know but Nasr was the one who asked. " What hair brained idea made you decide to turn me into a practice dummy now?"
