" That kind of a practice dummy is not so bad...thanks" Nasr dropped his head but looked at him sheepishly.
Pyre chuckled and shook his head at the situation. " Is that what this is about? The boy can still be trained. We only set his bones but it will still take time for them to heal"

With chance still available to him, Pavol ran up to Nasr and began to bounce around. He got a little too close to the broken wing even brushing a few primary feathers. That little bit sent pain through Nasr. He turned his head and snapped at him. " Watch it! I can bite you half in this form if you are not careful" The boy froze by his side, watching with terror. This made the Valra laugh. " Relax, I never hurt kids"

He looked up now towards Shinigami and Kuroi. " Of course she is immortal. She said she was a god. What did she do that you say that now?"
Kuroi tucked her hands behind her back, shifting about till she noted Shinigami looking at her. " It wasn't much"

Two lab rats. Now I can show and he can follow", he said grining and picked kuroi up, "ok Nasr come with me before she starts struggling. Oh pavol do you want to treat a cut wrist or learn to treat pain first. I wonder if immortals turn to stone", he said as Tobi hit his head with s book again, "I will treat her nicely later. It's not everyday your you find test subjects that don't die", he said to Tobi

The busted wing drooped as Nasr got to his feet, causing more pain. He reach around his side to support it as he followed. Thankfully his arms were long enough in this form to do so.
Pavol ran ahead of the oversized bird, smiling at the thought of learning. " Teach me how to heal a cut first! Then I can always look my best."

" You vain little hydra" Nasr hissed. " I would really appreciate NOT being in pain here!"
The boy raised his tail and made a display of arrogance and pride. " You threatened to bite me in half. The punishment is waiting to be healed"
A growl like caw could be heard as he reached towards Pavol with his free hand, wanting to strangle him. He stopped and looked up when he heard what Shinigami said. " Your going to petrify her? I will pray that you will be spared from Lumerin's wrath"

Kuroi raised her hand, displaying her claws for a strike when the book hit him in the head. " Thank you, Tobi. Saved me the trouble" She said with a smile and lowered her hand. " Would you be so kind as to ensure he keeps his word?" A request that she knew could be ignored with such a willful spirit but it was made in a light manner.

She looked over at Nasr now, no care to the fate that may occur to her. " He is in no danger from my father. I have inflicted my own suffering for research"

As she thought Tobi ignored her, "forget about limenrin, we will be meeting each other very soon and I can chew his ears out. Also I'm beating the crap out of that woman if I see her", he said then looked at Nasr, "how to treat pain it is then. I wonder if immortals die if their linns are separated"

Pavol scowled at the answer and crossed his arms until a new curiosity caught his attention. " Why are you going to yell at Lumerin?"
" I think he blames the god for everything wrong here" Nasr picked up his pace to walk by his friend, looking at him with curiosity. " You are getting morbid now. How many torments do you intent to put her through?"

" Or are you just intent on killing me?" Kuroi turned her head to see where in the castle he was leading them. " You have already seen me dead once"

Oh I'm just doing experiments like how long it takes for two snake poison to kill each other in someone's body or to see if there's a poison that can make you sleep like you're dead. I loved playing and making weapons but the thing is that the test subjects are kinda dead after the first try", he said grining when his body have out and began to fall. Tobi caught him midair and helped him float not to hit the ground. Tobi dropped him on the bag and began to take him to his room

Since he had picked her up, Kuroi quickly formed her wings to avoid hitting the ground. She continued to follow while flying.

Nasr had gotten used to Shinigami passing out by now and simply smiled. " Wonder why he passed out this time?" As he thought about how their journey had been, he felt the tooth-like ridges at the side of his beak. " I suppose it has been far too long since we visited the dream realm through sleep"

" I got sleep! Maybe he'll find my dad!" The boy said with a smile. He gained a bounce in his step with the thought.

" Hey! I want to see what happens when he meets your father! I hope he does not find him" The Valra lifted his head to watch the bag float along. " He has to wait on his experiments now. Why do such things with a goddess instead of his own immortal kind? You cannot be the first immortal he has seen" He said turning towards Kuroi. Her expression made him take a step back. " Huh? What is with you?"

She shifted her eyes to look at him for a moment before focusing ahead again. " His kind may not be so willing to subject themselves to the pain and suffering of those studies. You have also noted his guardians. I doubt they would allow any harm, even from their own, to befall their charge"

A cloud of thought placed a silence over the group,allowing the winds outside to be heard through the stone. After a few moments she looked back with a smile. " Curious little peacock, you are coming with me to collect poisons and more. I believe he shall be contented with what I can offer for his experiments. Nasr, follow him and wait for us. We can't wound that wing anymore"

" Wait, what!? Your going to help him?" His words were mingled with a caw in his shock. Pavol on the other hand almost flew as he jumped into the air. " Yay! I get to help collect poison!"

The bag suddenly became faster then flew into a wall. His guardians rose up and broke anything in the path to his room. Tobi dropped him on the bed when he got there. The guardians took a sit a both sides of the bead and stared down anyone who approached

The sudden chaos made all of them stop. Pavol tucked himself behind Nasr while Kuroi looked over the mess and the sighed. " What was that all about?" Nasr asked while stepping over a fallen crystal.

" You may have upset them with your question" She landed one began to pick up the mess.

" Or afraid that you would experiment on him" A smug grin showed on the Valra's face.

" He is mortal yet. That would be a fools choice. Besides I only experiment on myself and my foes" A rolled up piece of parchment appeared in her hand when she raised it. " Averin!" The ghost appeared after a few minutes. " Yes, my lady?"

" Gather what's writing here and bring it to me" She tossed the parchment into the air and he caught it. " Indeed." Smaller pieces blew across the floor when he left.

Bit by bit they made their way to his room, picking up and repairing the trail left behind. When they were close enough, Pavol entered the room in hopes of something more amusing than cleaning.

Pavol was stared down by the dark guardian. The guardians had no face but could show the intent in them telling him to not goo too close to him. Tobi flew near pavol inspecting him then passed him to see who else was coming. He went back to shinigami who had began gathering mana again.

Such a presence and the memory of the fight caused Pavol to freeze. He stared at the dark guardian until he felt a hand on his shoulder. " YAIIEEE!!" A few tail feathers scattered on the ground as he lept upwards only to find himself in Kuroi's arms.

She stood bold and confident before the guardians; watching them both. " If only I could speak with you. I have no reason to harm your charge"
Nasr was peeking around the door, eyes wide at what he saw. " Are you nuts!? They are dangerous if you push your luck"

The guardian became relaxed around her. It still didn't let pavol near. Shinigami kept drawing mana into himself. He woke up then looked around, "he's doing it again", he said as he slowly sat, "come on Tobi, you don't need to threaten them like that, you've seen me with them", he said as the guardians became small and pavol size

She chuckled and set the boy down. " I believe our conversation spooked him...possibly" Still mindful, she took a seat nearby. Nasr began to slink into the room but kept an eye on the guardians despite their smaller size. " Have a good nap? I guess-"

" Averin is coming with poisons for you!" Pavol blurted out. He was pulled away from the guardians by Nasr. " You want to make them defensive again?"

To tell the truth thru should be gone by now but Tobi won't listen. So what's with the poison", he asked looking around then looked to Nasr, "I think Tobi wants to have a body so don't worry about them. Speaking of which, I hear you're still in pain", he said as a guardian threw a book to him which he caught, "alchemy on lava. Really. I read it already. Ice would suffice.", he said as another book was thrown to him, "ok pavol activate your mana and please kuroi watch him cause my legs won't move...., so that's why they're still here"

A nod from Nasr confirmed his pain. " You were talking about experimenting with poisons and other things on Kuroi....immortal and all. Anyway I guess she wants to help you" He let the boy go when he looked at her and shrugged. Her own thoughts were elsewhere though. " We could create a body for Tobi.....yet with how he is that may not work" She shook her head and shifted on the seat to face Pavol. " I can watch him. Are you alright? It seems like each time you collapse it takes you longer to recover?"
Oblivious to any concerns but the guardians, the boy started to radiate light. " Ready to learn! Bring it on!"

Ok lesson number one. Mana in its pure form can't make spells so you have to be able to change it to spells. Flow the mana through you then let it out with ins intruction. Instructions means magic circle. Mages turn their mana into circles then use the mana as the instructions. But for now. You will learn to draw the circle and learn to instruct your mana. On that note, prick your finger so we can see some blood", he said as the light guardian went to kuroi, "Tobi is trying to ask for a book on medical magic "

" You want me to ruin my perfect skin!?" He pulled his hands close to his chest with the most appalled expression he could muster. " Oh for love of...." Nasr sighed and leaned forward. " It is not that bad. Your father used to put a dot of blood your tail right?" The boy nodded but glared at him. " From what I saw his hands still looked perfect. It's just a tiny prick. Use one of these" He said picking up one of the tail feathers that Pavol lost. The boy took the feather and turned towards Shinigami with a terrified look. Finally he took a deep breath in and jabbed the feather tip into his finger. " Oww....why my blood?"

Kuroi glanced at the guardian before nodding and getting up. " That would be important about now" She said walking along the bookshelves. When it was found she pulled it out. It was a natural brown leather cover with elegant designs embossed in it. The center held a stone that appeared to have soft mosses sealed within. She offered the book as she returned to her seat.

Ok Toni open to a page on stoping pain", he said as she followed suit. She found a page and threw it to him. He caught it an read the chapter then threw it back to her, "ok. You see the circle. Draw it on his shoulder. Make sure to supply mana to it. The more the better now since this is your first spell expect to pass out as spells take their tone on the body which is surprising even if you use less the amount of mana you normally use"

" It's not my first spell but it's my first healing spell" He said walking behind the Nasr who was watching him. " Don't eat me now..." Such a request made the Valra chuckle. " No worries there unless you deliberately hit the break" The feathers made it challenging to draw a circle and required him to force more blood out of his finger. The mana fused into it gave it a nice glow against the black.

With the last bit drawn in, it glowed brighter than before and sent a soothing aura through Nasr. The only evidence that it was still broken was that he couldn't move it yet. "Ah that feels better. I want to fly again"
Pavol sighed and leaned against Nasr's back just before sliding to the floor on his knees. The light danced through his tail as though they were embers but he did not pass out. Kuroi smiled at the scene. The older soul granted the boy a great advantage in learning. " He is a prodigy among his kind. It won't take him long to recover"
