When he surfaced Pavol staggered back and hit the ground when the sky lit up. " Get what done? You never said how we're destroying the tower"

Frost covered Kuroi when she climbed out of the water. " Heat up the water and blow the tower sky high" As she strode closer to them the frost faded away to leave her dry.

" Nice trick. I-I-I mean h-how are we supposed to do that!?" Yuuma covered his face and backed away. " I can't use fire and neither can Pavol"

She looked at Shinigami and nodded before crouching by the water. " With runes" Fiery runes appeared around her hand when she stretched it over the water. They needed to be careful lest it turn to steam.

No no no. That's what the think we will do", he said looking at the tower, "we go in. Set up a circle with the fire element and let it go wide like a failed experiment. Then the place goes hot and the walls will drive them out where I can show pavol how to use dark mana", he said walk to kuroi then picked her up but failed, "come on using runes is boring. Making it shiny is better"

" You know setting foot in there is dangerous but you live for that don't you?" She pulled her hand back from the water and took a single tailed kitsune form. " I must agree, shiny is better" Since he failed to pick her up she decided to have a little fun, circling each one of them in turn. Shinigami was the last and her tail brushed under his chin before she bolted off.

"W-wait!" Yuuma staggered forward as he tried to chase her down. " We can't just walk in!"

Pavol started laughing but decided to stay close to Shinigami. " We can walk in! You have me here. I'm bringing Shinigami and an eclipse born to the Luminary!" A grin of pride showed and he held himself nobly for a change. " She's soft..." The boy looked up almost with jealousy. " What did you do to make her do that to you?"

It's a wonder", he said then picked up pavol ad followed behind her, "if we can't walk in", he said reaching Yuuma then picked him up to, "then we will bolt in. Tobi provide them the parts to the spell. The one that drys the interior out. If you can't find it then use a good one", he said. His book and pen floated out and the pen began to draw on five pages then they were torn out, " ok take a piece. North, east, west, kuroi and I will take care of the rest. And remember, place them inside", he said as three papers were place in yuumas pocket, "and you already know teams"

" Hey! I said I can get you inside." The boy grumbled. With little to do but be brought along, he sighed and looked about.
Yuuma was shocked when he realized both had been picked up. " How are you doing that? N-never mind...place the tags once we're inside, got it"

The streets were empty at such an hour with the exception of guards roaming about. This posed no challenge as Kuroi warped from one shadow to the next however, the tower was being guarded by Levias and Unilas. She avoided them by vanishing through the last shadow. It swirled even after she vanished so the rest could follow.

He followed her, "a stealth mission. It's been so long", he said grining as he drops both of them once he made sure they were safe, "don't encounter danger and", he said giving them two papers, "circle to hide yourself from enemies. Feed it mana and give it its instructions. Take this as field learning", he said, "kuroi will keep in touch, for now she will get rid of guards. Tell me once you've done your part so I can go to the one in charge. And stick together"

" Got it! I'll be fine though cause I am a Luminary" Pavol grinned while taking the paper.
The amount of fountains and falls within the tower gave Yuuma ideas on how to hide. " We're a team kiddo which means I can't have my throat cut under your watch" He looked at the slip before heading off. There were no trees but he was confident in his hiding skills. " We'll be fine. You need to be careful"

A single shadow slunk about the walls and floor of the castle. Only Levias were inside the tower. Each one that she found was dragged into the darkness. Everything seemed to go well until she stopped in the middle of a round room with water running down every wall. The floor was designed as a watery sun and she stood at its center looking up. It was the sound of crystal being placed on stone that made her stop. Her form reverted to a human against her will. "The board is set..."

What Sol said about Shinigami being put back in the game ran through her mind. With recent the recent theft of feathers things were uncertain. The shadows welcomed her back to continue with the plan. Who was baiting who?

He began his way to put the remaining papers in their place with no struggle rhen went on into the tower. Once inside he didn't think to hide knowing full well they knew his was there. He had a plan instead, a counter measure. One up end the whole operation in one go.
He walked towards the middle absorbing mana from the tower as he went and addibg his own to it, "kuroi, report please. Can you help me find the leader"

She was able to feel the shift of power while she traveled through the place. "I have an idea where they are. Have Pavol guide you to the game room. He'll prevent this place from becoming a maze"

The other two set foot inside the tower after she said that. Yuuma was slowly turning as he walked, taking in the details place. " This is the heart of every city?"
The boy nodded though glared at the walls. " They beat with the power for the cities...until someone messes with their magic!" He slammed a foot down when he focused on Shinigami. Light spidered out to try to fuel the tower only to turn towards him.

He kept absorbing the lighting and ordered them to bring pavol to him, "kuroi, could you take his place then", he asked as hands formed and began passing pavol to him, "he thought I didn't feel that. What part of stealth mission was so hard to understand"

" What? Hey!?" Pavol squirmed a few times before admitting defeat to the hands. Though he scowled at them; the hands were giving him ideas.
Yuuma slid his hands into his pockets and followed in silence. The words of his parents echoed in his mind and he looked about for the source of oppression in the air.

"As long as you have the boy, I see no reason to take his place" She had reached the game room now and carefully slunk through the wall to watch the Luminary. The length of the tail told Kuroi the leader of this tower was a woman.

"Pavol may understand stealth mission but this is the first tower, a home to him, that he is asked to destroy. He may respect you but true to any child his disagreement is expressed through a tantrum" The Luminary moved around the board, following Kuroi's movements as she tried to get a look. Halfway around they turned to look at the shadows in the wall. Though she was not visible, the grin on the Luminary's face sent chills through her.

He reached pavol, "please take me to te game room", he said dropping him to the floor gently, "I feel like I would have some fun. Don't worry i will cover your face", he said as darkness masked him leaving space for his nose and ears

Kuroi, I meant could you help pavol place his paper in its spot. Also could you give me a report", he said to her through the link

While the mask was forming, Pavol backed up a few steps and reached up in an attempt to get the darkness away. Once it was formed, he stopped and looked around, oblivious to the darkness he wore. " Did you have to use darkness?"
He glared when he looked towards a fall but the thought of fun calmed him down. " Ok I will show you the game room. Don't go far" The falls parted when he got near to reveal a hidden door. He opened it to reveal a bright hall way. " This way"

Kuroi felt a fool for not giving a report the first time he asked. What is that made her so foolish? The awareness of the Luminary, the game, or something else? She tried once more to see the board but it was useless. "Yes, I can help him place the paper. Be careful...she already knows we're here. This one is more aware than the others....I have been...seen"

He followed behind pavol, "I already knew that. She wants me to go to her. That's why I haven't met any guards", he said through the link, "well I will send pavol to you when I'm done"

"That and I took out the ones that were inside" She continued to stare the Luminary down who chuckled.

As walls threatened to move and separate the small group, Pavol held out a hand to still them. It didn't take long for the tower long to recognize the young Luminary and stabilize. He guided them up a fleet of diamond and gold stairs that led to a room that had peacock statues guarding the halls. Water poured from their beaks to a ring of water below. " Almost there" He said turning down a small hallway.

The Luminary chuckled again as she placed a hand on the bored behind her. " Looks like I win" A light filled the room and Kuroi lunged from the shadows. Her claws found only air and her stomach collided with the edge of the board. To her surprise the pieces were missing. Sure it was an illusion, she cast a spell to break it but nothing happened. Where did the pieces go?

Pavol placed his hands on the ornate doors and shoved them open. Kuroi quickly looked up from the board. " Get out!" The walls exploded with the rush of water to wash them away. Being so close to the walls, pieces of sunstone were driven into her back.

He got alerted from the shout and picked up pavol, "enough games", he said knocking pavol out, "sol, explain why pavol is being controlled", he said as he changed to his second form and began to run out to the nearest window, "if not that then, activate", he said activating the stealth spell kuroi had put on him before.

" I don't believe he's being controlled but if his mother is truly alive then I fear she intends to use him against you. Her plans were always priority despite how we felt" Sol could only wonder why they would destroy the tower.

More walls shattered apart to send a flood through the halls. Kuroi and Yuuma vanished under the raging waters as they roared down the halls. It felt like a bad dream as he heard more explosions and raging water join. Despite such chaos he closed his eyes and focused all his power to his dream form. They had been washed too far away from Shinigami for him to locate. The risk was great as he drew him and Kuroi through time.

So they planed to kill us here", he said then stopped them began to laugh, "well I guess I will use kuroi's idea", he said then dropped threw pavol outside the window letting a guardian protect him. He let the water get to him then transformed it all to steam. He used the stone to transform it to icy cold steam then flew out to get pavol who the guardian was bringing to him, "kuroi. There's a reason I chose cold and not hot", he said to her through the link, "they really wanted us to go in. Can you move"

A glimmer of light showed on the ground. When it faded, Kuroi was bounding through the shadows in her kitsune form and wounds gone. She slid to a stop with the familiarity and looked up to see them. "Cold is surprising since you hate it. Yes, I can move"

She looked behind her when a retching sound followed by liquid hitting the ground reached her ears. Yuuma had braced himself against his knees. A large pool of blood rested at his feet. Slowly he lifted his head, the gentle smile stained by blood. His nose and eyes were bleeding too. " Good...you're safe..." His eyes rolled back as he collapsed.

She barely caught him across her back. "Yuuma is done! Let's finish this before his curse kills him" His skin became as pale as the moon and cold as she set him down.
