"Oh, sorry." Jennine blushed. It wasn't the first time she heard that she asked too many questions. She hadn't even asked half of everything she wanted to ask, but she focused on trying not to ask them. "You get paid for surviving out here?" Whoops. So much for not asking any more questions.
The sound of running water was now audible and Pieridae knew they were close. He sighed when the girl asked another question. "Nobody pays me unless I sell something to them. I don't need a job, I live out here." He motioned to the forest around him. He inwardly rolled his eyes. This girl was getting him to talk more than a stranger usually did.
Jenkins could hear the water too now. "Do yo live all by yourself?" She hadn't seen him with anyone else. That sounded pretty lonely.
The fae nodded in answer as he crossed the final expanse of forest floor to reach the stream. He looked at it for a minute to see if it was drinkable or not, he decided it was and filled up a water skin he took from his sack. Pieridae sat down on the bank and pulled out some more dried food, washed the salt off, and set it down on a large rock next to him. "Take what you can eat," he instructed. He decided it was best to talk little when personal questions came up.
Jennine nodded, picking one up and letting the question drop. She sat on a rock next to him. She bit off a piece and smiled. The meat was delicious. "This is good, what is it?"
Picking up his own and biting into it, he waited until he could talk to answer. "Hare," he answered, not caring, or maybe not knowing, what cute and cuddly meant to most others. "There is also a bit of deer left in the bag still. I'll have to hunt for more meat later."
Jennine stared at the meat, as if trying to imagine just what the hare had looked like. Her stomach growled and she shrugged and took another bite. She'd just apologize to the first bunny rabbit she saw for being so delicious.
Pieridae munched on his meat in quiet, only getting up to refill his canteen after drinking it, and passing it to Jennine. "Keep hydrated," he told her, "dehydration is a death sentence in survival."
Jennine's eyes widened when he said this. She nodded seriously and took the canteen as he handed it to her. She took a couple big gulps and finished off the rest of the hare she had in her hand. The girl hadn't been in many life or death situations and now she'd been in a few, all in the woods. "Is it dangerous for you, living here?"
((Heyo, I'm back, did ya miss me? Now lets see where this RP takes us!))
Pieridae shook his head. "Not for me." Although for some it was a rough life, Pieridae was born into a life similar, and was raised to work with nature. After his family died all he had left was the untammed forest and whatever it was able to offer him. This was his normal. To him, this was safe.
The fae shot a sideways glance at the girl. "Have we exchanged names?"

((Yeah Lol sorry it took so long for me to respond. It was a long busy Thanksgiving with no internet connection available.))
She shook her head hard enough to make her curls go flying. "I'm Jennine!" She tilted her head at the man. "What about you?" He didn't seem like he'd have a common name. But maybe his name would be common for guys that lived alone in the forest, and her name sounded weird to him! The thought made her head spin.

The Fae gave a simple answer, "Pieridae," before refilling the canteen again and packing up.
It was a strange name! Or maybe a normal forest guy's name. "I've never heard it before." She tried repeating his name, and butchered it. She got as far as Pier before it fell apart.
He winced as his name was butchered. "Pier will suffice. Are you ready to move?" Pier heaved the pack onto his shoulders and looked into the forest. "Your family will be sick with worry."
She nodded. "Yup, I'm ready." For a moment she thought of her parents, but realized that it was probably just her aunt worrying for now. Her family had been small to begin with. She shrugged. "I think she likes being alone."
Pieridae rose a brow. "Is that so?" He started picking his way back the way they had come. "How do you know?" Although it rhymed, and sounded funny from him, he had no intention of making it so.
((I know that rhymed a lot but I actually had no intention myself of doing so, honest!))

The rhyme made Jennine giggle. "Well, Dr. Seuss, she lives all by herself in a huge house out of town." She thinks for a moment. "Anytime I ask to have friends over it results in a frown." That rhyme was definitely intentional.
Pieridae shook his head and raised a brow, "Doctor Who?" A pause, "I have no capabilities of understanding your circumstances."
She shakes her head. "No, Doctor Who is the one that travels around in a magic telephone booth. Dr. Seuss rhymes a lot."
There was a long pause as Pieridae gave her a look. Then he broke the silence, "What about these wolves? What are they?"
