Blair (played by EnkeliAgon) Topic Starter

It sounded like a fairly simple life, but for some people that was enough. Sure, Blair lived a complicated lifestyle but certainly that didnt apply to everyone out there, right? "I could only imagine what it would be like, having just... this... as my home." He nodded his head after listening to her. His life had always been surrounded by magic and technology. Ever since he came of age and could set off on his own he made this twisted mess of science an mysticism his path to walk.

"Well, im not sure what you last remember of it, but i suppose it depends on which port you settle down in across our world here. I travel by airship all around our world. I have seen just about all walks of life, and with that i know of all civilized ports indeed. A days travel to our west would be the closest port to these parts. A bustling city of industry. Importing, exporting, and manufacturing everything other civilizations across the planet could ever need. Their focuses are strictly technical though, leaving the study of magics and similar sorts to other regions of the world." He started explaining to her once she asked. Hopefully he was touching base with anything she was curious about. "As for where i come from, just some small forest well across the world. Nothing notable ever happened there and im sure nothing ever will. The elves grew up among were more of you magical, solitude types. Once i realized the glory of how wide our world was though i ventured out and picked up the life i live today. I travel port to port and all lands in between, researching the mixtures of arcane and technology combined to broaden the horizon of civilized expansion later on. With a proper understanding of it all i hope to save the habitats such as this forest here so that industry would never have a need to move into it. With my work one would be able to create anything they need out of the air itself, and manufacture off demand rather than massive supply which drains the worlds resources." H touched some into his life and how things basically go for him. That was the summed up version of it all. Aside from that he had plenty of personal projects as well. Time warping, Aether fusion, Malignis Research, just to name a few.
Jherra listened with interest, her sources of information before this being nil. "I have never ridden in an airship, don't think I have even seen one... But the technology to work it is surely impressive." She looked around her, taking in the familiar sights of trees, flowers, bushes and fauna. "You chosen profession sounds like a worthy one. One that will be prized and others will be thankful for in the future. Though some poeple do not think on how important the worlds green places are... they are vital for the livelihood of both our bodies and our souls."

Turning her gaze back on the elf she smiled. "So, was there anything in particular you were looking for in my forest? I make a passable guide."

The elf was happy to see that Jherra had an interest in what he specialized in. He could hear the tone of her voice as she spoke and it honestly delighted him to have someone to talk to so openly about such things. "I hope others appreciate it later. They may not see it now but i do hope one day i make a big difference for everyone to see. Not for the recognition! Just so finally people will know that the change has come and we will soon have the means to save our world as well as better our lives." He nodded his head, listening then as she asked what he was looking for. Once again he just smirked.

"Actually, yes!" He happily spoke, reaching for his belt and pulling out the empty vial he had obtained the healing substance from which was used on her hand. "The essence i used for the healing, it is most commonly found around sources of water. Primarily still water sources like lakes and ponds. I followed up a river a while back but had no luck finding any lingering essences, so i was hoping that by cutting through a new trail i could find perhaps a bigger lake. Do you know of any?" He asked her, rolling the empty vial in his hand before placing it back on his belt.It was a very valuable essence, and rare to find. Of course he wanted to replace his stock and possibly obtain more in the process!
Jherra tilted her head to the side in contemplation, placing each site that she had become aware of onto a mental map. After mapping a passable trail to them in her head, she nodded. "I know of several. One of which may give you some trouble in order to get to...."

Eyeing the elf she gave him the benefit of the doubt. After all, he made it this far. "If you are ready I can take you now. Or if you need more rest we can... speak of other things? Perhaps what other things those glowing things can do." Her curiosity shined in her eyes. She rather liked learing new things. It was harder to be caught unaware.

The elf was ready to do anything, really. They could sit and chat more, they could go to one of the lakes he was in search of, or they could idle around doing nothing. It was all fine through his eyes. "Distance or hazard is not of much concern to me, though, if we were to go somewhere undisturbed then it would be easier to work. What ever is easier for you, i suppose." Blair gave a shrug of his shoulders, leaving it to the amazon as it was her knowledge that would take them anywhere at all. He was willing to talk as they walked though, in regards to her questioning of his glowing vials. Reaching to his belt he pulled one out and spun it in his fingers. "Each one is of a different aspect of the aether, and once you know how to use it and mix it the possibilities are nearly endless..." He started, holding up the glowing red vial before grabbing a deeper blue one with his other hand. "Fire and Water for example... in their natural element counter active against each other... In the mix of aether however..." He mixed the two vials together in his open palm, allowing his glove to absorb the glowing elements and combine in a controlled state within the gems of his gloves. Snapping his hand open then the mixture spewed forth a molten gel, very fluid like water but with the burning intensity of great flames. It however stayed in a fine control within his hand, not burning him but generating great heat as he was the catalyst of its production. "Many great things are possible." He clasped his hands together then and extinguished the gel, the stones of his gloves relighting as the magic was reabsorbed.
The small hairs on the back of Jherra's neck stood on end as she watched the power of his nature magic. Such a thing, she did not think she could master, because she could understand the concept to a point, but past that... she was at a loss. She did watch with interest as he bant the magic to his will then re-absorb it. Her tail flicked from side to side as she contemplated the power, then seemed to shake herself and turned away.

"Come, this way." She indicated the way his 'compass' had pointed him to. "We will travel to the hidden pool first. It is rather beautiful, I think you may appreciate it as few would." She looked over her shoulder at the shorter elf and gave him a small smile. "Try to keep up now."

She then commenced in leading him around twisted trees and dense underbrush. Sometimes she would walk on the ground with him, others she would take the high ground and leave him to get through the brush with that smile back in place. After a few hours she indicated a fallen log for him to rest. "We are not far. Do you need any preparation in order to get your substance?"

With his gear packed up and ready to go Blair would follow Jherra as soon as he was done with his display of the aether and she seemed ready to go. A nod of his head was all that was given as she told him to follow, keeping pace rather well with the amazon as they started their journey through the forest. He obviously was good with traveling and such, not struggling with the bushes and the path Jherra was carving out for them on the way to the lake. "I cant wait to see it." He smiled, thinking of the idea of a hidden pool. Possibly a cavernous lake, deep within the rock of the world itself? Something like that would surely be a fine place for gathering.

With the gesture towards the log Blair sat his backpack down and fiddled around some with his gloves. There wasnt much he had to do, but he did fish out some empty vials from under his cloak and attach them to a pair of harnesses up his arms some. He would be able to use the magical absorption properties of his gloves and filter the essence straight into the vials with how he had his rig set up. He was a very scientific man when it came to magic obviously, taking two rather opposite things, magic and science, and blending them very successfully. "I think im all good. Lead on." He smiled to her, taking his backpack back up and ready to continue when ever she was. "I do want to thank you again for this, Jherra. I appreciate it very much, and if there's anything i could do to repay you do feel free to ask." Blair spoke to her while they traveled, assuming she stayed close by long enough for him to do so. The exotic woman was so interesting and clearly skilled at navigating the forests they were in. He wouldnt be able to deny that he couldnt keep his eyes off her.
Jherra flicked her tail to the side and smiled at him. This elf was really quite cute. So bright and enthusiastic. "It is nothing, but I will keep your offer in mind, and I will hold you to it if I think of anything I might ask of you.

"Just a little bit more, as I said." Jherra wasted no time in leading Blair back into the lush of the forest. First, it was the hidden pool. There were was a large bit of creeping ivy and vines, but if you parted them, there was a cave. Once you were far enough in that the sun no longer gave a semblance of light to the underground passage, natural phosphorescent moss took up the job of lighting the way to the pool. After a few turns there it was, a good sized pool or calm water. "I assume this will do?"

She could hold him to anything he promised. Blair was an honest man and didn't make offers be couldn't keep. In regards to traveling, as he had offered her, he could take her around the world and back no problem at all. Down on the ground and here in the forest he may not have been the fastest as travelers, especially compared to Jherra's skill, but that said nothin about what sort of resources he had available to him. He had the Elysium! An airship famous to the civilized world and slowly growing its name everywhere else.

Following through the forests and into the cave, Blair was about to ready a different vial of is liquid aspects, expecting to need light in the underground passages. The sight of the kiss and the glowing on the walls though proved useful enough, a light smile booking the corners of his lips at the sight of it all, especially once they reached this subterranean body of water. "It's beautiful!" He looked to Jherra and the water, gazing around and readying his goggles. Slipping hen over his eyes he could then see an amazing array of flowing colors and wisping essences. "This will do perfectly." He took a step towards the water and rigged a vial up to his gloves. Though Jherra couldn't see exactly what he was doing without the same sort of goggles as he, she would be able to see as small drops of glowing blue liquid started to fill into the vial he attached to his gloves, his hands weaving and waving in the air to filter through the invisible aspects, taking what he needed to replenish his empty vial. "I do owe you for this, Jherra. This sort of magic, especially so much of it down here, is priceless! Not many people ever come here, do they?"
Jherra loved this pool. It was a treat she gave herself every now and then. The glow was always beautiful and she loved to bask in it. "None but myself, and perhaps a few lizards. The hot springs sometimes draw others but they are in a slightly different location."

The process in which the elf seemed to draw the essence of the water was simply fascinating. She could not quite grasp just how he did it, yet accepted the fact that it was so. Who cares how it works, obviously it did. "It was truly no problem though. It is rather fun leading you around. I find myself a little surprised that you trusted me to lead you to where you needed to go.... instead of say, into a leopard pit." She chuckled a bit. "I can take you to the hotspring too, if you want."
Blair (played by EnkeliAgon) Topic Starter

Local wildlife was one thing. Sentient beings was another. The underground lake here clearly was an undisturbed location which even the visitations of Jherra did not affect at all. The local aura flux was still perfectly natural, as one would find it in any wildlife setting opposed to the heart of a city or some location of civilized development. "Well, this here is much more precious than a hot spring im sure, if people knew the true value of what sort of magic rested upon such sources of water. The Puris Nodes around here are astonishing! Please, take a look!" Blair smiled, taking the goggles off of his head and offering them to her. She didnt actually have to wear them if she didnt want to. Simply looking through the lenses in any way would give you the vision to see exactly what Blair had been looking at. He had the goggles set to hone in on the Puris Nodes instead of other aspects of the Aether, giving a very beautiful view of the lake before them. Above the water hovering around slowly would be glistening balls of glowing blue and white light, shimming and raining down sparkling wisps of Puris energy. Around them floated a mystical blue mist, all of which invisible to the eye without the goggles Blair offered out to her. Amazing, the true beauty of the natural world!

"So long as we are both enjoying ourselves i see no issue. As for trusting you, im already convinced that if you wanted to have me dead you would have done so back at the field where you crept up on me and startled me... I would also hope that if i was to die it would be in a much more creative way than a leopard pit. At least do me that honor if you plan on killing me." Blair joked, finished gathering the aspects he needed from the air, having filled multiple vials of the rare element, more than replacing what he had used to heal Jherra's hand. "Here. For your own personal use if you ever need it." Blair offered one of the extra's to Jherra, the small vial in his hand glowing just like any of the others had. "Just as i had used it in the field. Pour it in your hands, wait for it to soak into your palm and glow, then apply to the wound. Instant healing and cleansing of the body. Just... beware of that whole reproduction thing i mentioned before. Dont use on a male and female with the SAME Vial! And if you feel any strange sensations in your legs, breasts, and or pelvis, you might want to separate yourself from others until it all goes away. Im still researching everything, so its not perfect yet." Blair chuckled, thinking then of the hot springs she had mentioned. He had gotten what he could from the lake here so perhaps the springs could offer more, if not maybe some Ignis to refuel the fire of his rifle. "Im willing to go anywhere. Like i said, i explore. Having company to show me the key sights is perfect to me." He smiled at her, happy to have met with Jherra. She certainly saved him a lot of time wandering around aimlessly, and who wouldnt mind the company of a beautiful woman such as herself?
Jherra grasped the goggles that were offered with careful fingers, fully aware her dainty claws could damage it if she did not treat it so. Bringing them up to her eyes she looked around, taking in the drifting blue energy, and smileing at its wonder. "It is truly a sight to be seen. Thank you for sharing it, Blair." The image reminded her of how aura's were explained to her. She wandered what her 'predator aura' would look like through such goggles, but did not know enough about them to hazard changing any settings to look.

With a slight chuckle she inclined her head. "Do not worry, if need be, you shall die in some truly imaginatively horrific way. Something to give nightmares I'm sure." Lifting up her lips in a fangy grin she accepted the vial and grabbed a string from her side, tying the vial there, seeing as she had no other way of carrying it around with her.

"Good to know. If I want to seduce anyone, use the same vial. Maybe I'll get pregnant again. Children are so interesting." Turning she started to press on a large part of what looked like the wall but was actually a seperate boulder. Once she had it tilted a bit gshe was able to get a better hold on it and pulled the thing easily away from a slightly darker pathway. Tail flicking energetically behind her she indicated the passage. "Come, this way. It's a shortcut to the springs."

"Its something that i hope in the future i can make possible for everyone to see and experience. Maybe then it will be easier to convince others to preserve our wildlife and embrace nature, rather than destroy and build over top of it." Blair to take the goggles back from her once she was finished, slipping them back on but letting them hang down on his neck rather than over top his eyes. "Good. Ill hold you too that. Should i die out here in some boring fashion, im coming back to haunt your ass." He smiled, watching her tie the vial to her side and start to move towards the side of the chamber they were in. As she played at the bolder against the wall it quickly became obvious that it was going to move, watching her roll it out of the way and reveal that passage behind it. It brought a light smirk to his face, watching her tail go which he hadnt noticed much of before. Perhaps too entranced with the rest of Jherra's being to have noticed it before? He wouldnt deny that the tail worked very well with her. The whole exotic sex appeal she had was something he never saw before.

"Well now, thats just convenient." He chuckled, following along then as they made their way up through this new passage. "You mentioned kids..." He thought back on her saying something about being pregnant. "Are they the woodland type like yourself?" No, he didnt expect them to be around. All children usually go their own ways in life eventually. He was curious however on the culture. Jherra fascinated him to no end, and here was the knowledge know that she has produced children, who quite possibly could be similar to her in nature, or completely different! He sometimes cursed his own nature as a researcher. More often than most he didnt think about the things he asked others on a personal level until after he has asked. "Im sorry!.. I shouldnt be prying." He dropped his head some, that realization hitting him that this might just in fact be a touchy subject for all he knew. He was actually beginning to think that one of these days it would be something he asked another that winds up getting him killed.
Jherra nodded. "Nature is important to all. Your work is good. It should pread the need for more nature." She started down the passage, the way lit by her glowing vial on her hip since there was not much of the moss down this way. Her words echoed as she spoke her next words. "I am shaking to my toes, such a threat." She grinned, not that he would see it, but this elf certainly amused her.

At his next question she shrugged. "Only one survived... it is a bit hazy. I was in contact with something called a shadow demon. She took my children. I believe it was my fault, but canna remember. My daughter got away. She is a very enchanting creature. All jewel tones of my coloring, no markings unfortunately, but she did get beautiful white wings from her father. I visit her when I can, the littling tends to be drawn to nature as well, I can always find her perched on a tree limb looking up at the stars..." A hand reached up torub lightly at her temple. "I would like to have a child I remembered bearing, watch them grow and such. My daughter is already a woman grown, I did not recall until.... well. As I said, it is a hazy part of my memory."

Blair listened in closely on her little story. He never had kids himself so he could only imagine what sort of wonders and emotions come with such a thing. Let alone the horrors of losing them, so Jherra claimed happened to all but one. "Im sorry to hear..." He could only sympathize, though he was also sure a person like Jherra was probably well past grieving and needed no sympathy. "Wings?" He took an interest in such a subject. Obviously it suggested a blend of racial features, something that you only see so much of within civilized communities such as the large cities and such. "Its a rarity to see a successful blend of racial traits around the cities. Mostly anyone you speak to is of some sort of mono-bloodline, if not, the simple half elf or half-this, or half that everywhere else. Its rather boring, honestly. No one is... interesting..." Blair rambled off a little bit, continuing down the dark tunnel, lead by the glow of the vial there on Jherra's hip.

"Children... hmph... Im over 250 years old and ive never had the pleasure of such a thing. My work has consumed much of my life..." He pondered over the idea as he walked along. Out of all his years he never really talked much about ideas of family, or about another persons family. Blairs own family life had been lacking so it was a rare topic for him. Jherra seemed like she had so much experience within life though! Here he was just an avid worker and a scientist of a field which no one understands. Was he lonely? Sad but true, Blair used his work to distract him from his solitude. "Its my own fault, no doubt. Too stubborn to just settle down i guess... i still consider myself young, but, then again, look how much others do in fraction of the years that i have been alive... I know i speak of a just cause, but sometimes i cant help feel my work is for naught and im not actually living my life... I dont know..." It may have sounded like a sorrowful topic he was speaking of, but Blair still seemed to have some sort of optimism to his tone. He was more so analyzing his life rather than reflecting on it, so he was not depressed! "I guess im still just seeing where this life does take me..." He smiled.
Jherra shrugged. It was hard to feel bad over something she didn't remember. She did plan on eventually having kids again... hopefully. Her own society would not let her have a man, thankfully outside of the jungle, things were not quite so strict with that. Men weren't in a shortage here.

"My daughter is very beautiful. Poor thing is not very strong though, again, like her father." When the way ahead split, Jherra moved to the left, deeper into the mountain. Her steps were sure and her movement purposeful. The temperature started to pick up a bit, and she paused as she came to an opening with another pool in it. "This one is too hot to bathe in. But you may find some of your... essence here. I do not know. Only a dragon has been down to bathe in it that I know of."

Turning she leveled her eyes on the elf, smiling. "We all come to our nesting in time, it just takes the right person, and the right place."
Blair (played by EnkeliAgon) Topic Starter

When the pathway split and Jherra kept going, Blair paused for the moment and gazed down the darkness of the alternate pathway. With how Jherra just kept walking without a second thought clearly showed her knowledge and recollection of traveling these paths before. She probably knew the insides and outs of both this mountain and the forests around it. "Cant say im one to boast my strength either..." Blair chuckled as he caught back up with Jherra, feeling the temperature shift as they neared the springs. Upon seeing it he smiled, hearing the amazon's warning thought about the heat. Clearly she had a good idea of how his work with the aether functioned. The fire aspect, Ignis, didnt necessarily mean there had to be fire. He would probably be able to get a few different elements here.

"I dont want to keep you sitting around board while i just wave my hands around in the air." Blair chuckled, pulling his goggles over his eyes and readying his gloves as he did before, going to the waters edge and beginning his collection out of the air. "Do Dragons still exist in these regions? Back around the cities most believe them to be extinct. Im sure they have just chosen a new migration patter, but im no professional..." Blair made sure to keep talking while he was working. He really didnt want to just have Jherra sitting around while he played with the air. A conversation while he did so could at least dampen the monotony. "Well... sad to say but you're the only intelligent and interesting female ive had the pleasure of a conversation with in quite some time. So, im still waiting on that right time, right place thing..." He chuckled, though he had a little warmth to his cheeks, probably hidden by his goggles however. He was certainly guilty of having an attraction to her.

"Jherra... Im counting a number of things you've done for me since we have met... Didnt kill me... led me to the lake and this spring for essence gathering, showed me the magic of your blood... Please! Its my turn! What can i do for you?" Blair turned, letting his arms drop down to his sides with a light smile on his face. The vials attached to his gloves were filled with various liquids of blues, reds, and even a shimmering white. "Dont even look at is as me paying you back if you 'dont like to take handouts'... Im doing something for you whether you like it or not." With that smile he just stared her down, probably a funny expression to see on his face as it was a mix of kindness and seriousness.
