"I... I don't know..." The king replied, feeling her shudder violently. "By Martyr, I wish we had something better to warm her with..."
Natalia's temperature finally stabilized and she warned to a slightly cooler than usual temperature and cuddled into Malus' arms, greatly enjoying his fluffy warmth and she relaxed greatly.
She was sound asleep though and nuzzled into his strong chest.
Malus sighed a breath of relief and smiled, "I'll take that as a yes...". He glanced over at Carter."Should I carry her onward or shall we stop for the night?"
"Only if you think you can. I don't like the idea of being alone with barbarians about," Carter shivered slightly in fear.
"Good point..." the king replied, gingerly picking up the small, frail girl. He kept his fur fluffed up and marched onward, "We shall continue on our way, then."
The night droned on and the cold became even colder, the king holding Natalia close so that she would not freeze, keeping silence with the cheetah bedside him. His feet continued to ache and drowsiness had almost gotten the better of him more than once, but they couldn't stop now. Not with what was at stake. All seemed peaceful that night, though; crickets chirped with renounced vigor and the owls hooted without a care. If they didn't know any better, it looked to them that all was at peace.
Malus could feel the slopes of the mountains begin to ease and deep-rolling hills take it's place. They were still upon the outskirts of the mountain region before the sun had came up. Once the first light of dawn, however, rolled it's way upon the horizon, everything began to stir. He could feel they were close.

Natalia woke up about half way through the night and had been walking since.
"My lord... How long have you been out here on your own? a few days?" Carter asked, "You couldn't have left the capital yesterday, right?"
"My lord... How long have you been out here on your own? a few days?" Carter asked, "You couldn't have left the capital yesterday, right?"
"Hmm... I left Sarracosta approximately four days ago, to take in the sights and sounds of the mountains. The bustling city was simply becoming too much." The king replied thoughtfully, "Heh. Normally, if out on my own, I dress in a more common attire, to blend in better. This time, however... time did not offer that luxury. I wanted to leave as soon as possible."
"Well... We need to get back as soon as possible now," Carter said worriedly, "Do you think we could get horses in the village?"
"I'm sure there are horses, but..." the king recalled his past feelings on returning, "Gah. I still don't know if that is such a good idea..."
"Why not?" Carter asked, "We need to tell the people and the army or those barbarians are going to kill everyone!"
