The transverse managed to get its arm out from the ice that had encased it for more than 200 years though it hadn't intended to get trapped in it, but what did it matter? The creature simply roamed the earth, deceiving people all around.

Vague's arm moved languidly cracking the remaining ice as it freed its body. It collapsed over the dry ice and rolled onto its back when a ship as loud as a space shuttle, hovered over the creature.

The Director processed the report with great interest as a survey team returned from scouting the colder regions of Earth.

CREATURE FOUND CLIMBING OUT OF FROZEN WASTELAND. FURTHER DATA ON THE CREATURE IS LACKING.

He had to think carefully about his next course of action. He could send a team to bring it back to the VIO base, or he could go to Earth himself. He just had to avoid the prying eyes of both the natives and the galactic police, and that was the specialty of his organization. His mind set, he wasted no time in assembling a team, and landed on the planet with no incidents. "Now," He thought. "Time to find this beast to see if he is useful enough to join us."

Vague slowly made its way to its feet, staring up at the ship that was foreign to it and began its updating right away. It'd only know by communication with the beings that were currently populating the planet, which it had known to be as Earth. In other words it would be humans if nothing else. It was a new time and the creature had to quickly adapt though survival was no great concern.

Abruptly, it turned to the vessel that had landed a few yards away. The transverse was ready to take on new formations that it would very soon gather.

The creature turned to the Director's ship, and the Director turned to it. Hopefully, and statistically, this creature will come to realize the benefits of partnership. Rarely making direct contact with anyone, he had a holographic android sent with the ship. Now was the time for diplomacy. "Greetings," the Director, or rather, the hologram android, said. "I have a proposition to make to you."

In seeing the hologram the transverse was quick to mirror it and respond, stealing its voice as well, "Proposition..?"

The creature had no true curiosity, but that was what it had seen over its lifetime and Vague had displayed it with perfection.

At the moment he saw the creature change, he knew this creature had a special property. One that could further his cause. Turning to it, he started to speak. "Yes. One that will allow you to consume as many identities as you desire, if that is your purpose in life. We offer you a choice: either to join our cause and advance the ideals of me." He left out the second term to appease his sadistic side.

Choices... Wasn't something a transvers had the true capability to do, but more identities sounded ideal. Before the hologram, though it had been holding up on the second choice, was about to give him another option Vague spoke, "That can be done."

The transverse returned to it's blank form of nothing, but a simple figure. It would join this stranger only because he offered and Vague would take any chance it got to steal a new identity whose sole purpose was nothing but to lie.

"Good." The Director stated. We must hurry and get you to our base, before the local life forms find us, or the galactic police. He beckoned it to board the ship.

Vague started toward the ship the moment the hologram beckoned it. For the transverse it was a new beginning to eternity.

Two years later.....

2,386 identities total over the two years it'd spent with the Director. It's job was rather simple as it always was. Lie and disappear having someone else face the consequences.

Now it stood on the ship, waiting for another quest the Director would like to send it on. It knew everyone on the ship and everyone who was affiliated with it. It also had the opportunity to steal their identities. They have come to know Vague, but not to a personal extent. Vague never communicated with anyone, but the Director himself either mirroring or being just being Vague.

(Oof. My imagination is getting stale without others to try and stop us.)

[TRANSVERSE, UNKNOWN GENDER]
[USEFULNESS: HIGH]
[THREAT: HIGH]

The Director reviewed the reports with as much concern as he could have. Vague was becoming more powerful each time he encounters someone. Actions must be taken, but not now. First, there was a mission he needed it to do.

"Summon Agent Vague, computer."

In hearing its name it turned and began towards the deck of the ship where the Director usually was, passing familiar and stolen faces that it had come to know.

The creature stepped into the deck and approached the Director unnoticed by many. Those who did didn't like to look at it. In a sense it made them feel some sort of unease.

As Vague approached deck, the Director turned to see it. "Vague, this mission will be difficult, and will require your skills. I require you to infiltrate the governments of Earth, your...birth place. From there, you will take out key targets that I will assign to you when you get there. Understood?"

It tilted its head slightly, but then lowered it in acceptance to the mission. It'd been quite a while since the transverse had set foot on Earth and most humans there where easy to swindle. The government on the planet was indeed difficult, but, like it had always done, idled a way whether it was planned or not. Improvisation was no complication.

"Good. Prepare for this mission, but this time, I want to test you. See if you can convince or manipulate some local life forms to aid you to overthrow this relatively insignificant government on Earth. Dismissed."

The Director turned away, and started to stare out of the view port.

Vague then used the face of someone who was currently on the deck and started toward someone who could give it a vessel down to Earth. It'd be easy to manipulate, but to have them assist it overthrowing the government would be quick task.

After Vague left, the Director called for several generals to his command office. "It is time for the morph to show if it can truly handle the challenges of the resistance of the humans of Earth."
