you can be any mlp species as long as you say your reasons and give a good detailed backstory.
alicorns are allowed with moderation. you have to have a good story that doesn't conflict others. you may have up to 3 main ocs, extra ocs may be used as background characters when needed, but cant have a big role in the story
i will be using 2-4 characters 2 oc's 1 named chamomilea a unicorn, mochanut another unicorn, and two old gen characters named star catcher and silver swirl.
star catcher is a alicorn who was raised along with her fraternal twin sister many oceans away from equestria. they were born in a small tropical village known for its abundant mines, silver swirl was born a graceful unicorn and star catcher a bouncing pegasus, they both looked very similar as children both having pearl white coats and long silver hair. they had there fathers dazzling emerald green eyes. silver was named after curling marking all along her coat that randomly appeared when she had bursts of unicorn magic and star giving her parents plenty of fear after she tried to catch a falling star. they played endlessly together as fillies but soon gained there own group of friends and there very own styles too. star and silver became alicorns after purifying/healing the land and water around there village with magic and knowledge of herbs and medicinal potions , they arnt really considered princesses were there from and the people in the village don't even call them alicorns. star wanted to explore the outside world but gets kidnapped by a large shadow pony, when she wakes up shes lost in the everfree forest.
chamomilea is a humble foreign unicorn who moved to ponyville in search of rare flowers, she makes teas, running a small tavern on the boarder of ponyville. her cutie mark is a peony. she may or may not be able to help you out with information regarding star catchers wearabouts. mochanut is her cousin and specializes in coffee.

Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Industrial revolution
Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romance is desired but not required, and will balance evenly with other plot.
