The Mirror Calls.
A slither of pale green trembled in the air a few feet from the ground like a ribbon teased by the gentle hand of a breeze. There was a subtle flash and it began to expand like a leaf bud opening to the morning rays of a spring sun. It grew further, slowly, but steadily until it could stretch no more. Standing around seven foot tall, it’s smooth almost transparent surface gave a ghostly image that could not clearly be discerned. It arched at the top and looked like a old window or even a mirror.
It shimmered as though it sought attention.

The Glass Green
The Glass Green is a doorway into a large, fully immersive dark fantasy world where the player will encounter people, creatures, events and several detailed story lines. Players will be expected to interact with their surroundings and NPCs to fully develop their experience in this world and to evolve their character’s personality.
There are several countries sharing one continent. Many areas are accessible some are not, for a reason you will discover when you talk to people. There are a multitude of NPCs to communicate with for information on certain areas and events allowing the player to chose their intended path as they explore a new land. Over 72 characters that can be employed as companions and help guide you through your travels, 20 NPCs who will be involved with the storyline that you will encounter along your journey and one very special character who can also be a companion. These characters will be uploaded into the story as you travel.
These characters are IW (In World) and are there as I mentioned earlier to guide you, but they are not made to your requirements so If you find you do not like your travelling companion talk to them and tell them and you can part ways. This has no reflection on the relationship between me and the player and will be considered part of your characters development as an individual. However, if there is a companion you do like, again, talk to them, let them know. Communication is a very important part of this adventure. That said you don’t have to have a companion but it is advised. You can also team up with another player if you wish and they mutually agree.
Your character will come from your world and will be transported through the doorway. I’m looking for plausible, human and humanoid characters that would fit into this world without drawing too much attention to themselves, a bright light always attracts undesirable attention.
I cannot accept cartoon/anime, robot, fluffy bunny or my little pony, it would just not work.
I will accept werewolves and vampires but be warned, there are far more deadlier creatures out there than you.
Avatar.
You must have an appropriate avatar that represents your character as closely as possible. I cannot accept cartoons, symbols, animals, swirly bits, greyed out question marks etc. The facial details of your character will be described by IW NPCs.
Members and Party Size.
This is an open world and has no limit to how many become involved, but if it does gain a lot of interest then I will adjust it accordingly. Should you wish to have more than one companion I suggest no more than two. You will not be deliberately placed in any of the warring lands and so will not need an army.
Gift.
During your adventures you will be given a ‘gift’ use it well.
Maps.
Maps can be acquired but they are costly. However, maps made by the locals are free but not as accurate. I will upload these privately if I can.
Creatures.
I’ve tried to break away from the classic monster mob and designed my own races, creatures and beasts so don’t be disappointed if there are no skeletons to rattle. However, there are goblins, trolls, ogres and giants. A word of the wise, humans enjoy labelling and giving inaccurate descriptions of things they don’t understand and fear. Passing on fanciful stories of monsters they have encountered or heard tales passed down to frighten them when they were children. So ask yourself, what defines a monster?
Death.
Yes, your character can die. It doesn’t matter where your character originated from, in this world you are a visitant and are subject to the same mortality as anyone else. So don’t take on a wyvern with a flipping cake knife. If you get seriously injured and have a IW companion they will be able to help. If you have teamed up with another player you also have a good chance of survival, if you are on your own in the wilderness I will inform your next of kin. Any of my characters die they will be replaced at the next inn.
Talk.
Ask questions from the locals, NPCs, IW companions, poke around, be nosey. I cannot stress this enough.
Inns.
A good place to relax safely, hear gossip, find a companion, eat sleep and bathe. Yes, bathe! Inns will have a bathing area even if it’s just a bucket of warm water and a brush.
If you find you cannot post for several days, we all have a real life, then it’s best to stay at an inn. PM me though.
Crime.
Depending on your character and their attitude, if you commit a crime and are caught you will be imprisoned for a certain amount of time and will have little control over your character until you are released. For instance, stealing a loaf of bread will get you two days in gaol. Punching a Roadwarden will get you locked up for a week or more.
Listen.
Take note of what the locals say and heed their warnings. People have been living in this country for nearly 300 years and there are vast areas that have not been explored. Don’t rush out and start picking daisies in a place that’s not even on the map.
Fear.
I have included several elements that are designed to keep the story at a pace and to promote actions and reactions. If you have any genuine phobia PM me and I will adjust the scenario.
Socializing.
I encourage this as it is vital for your characters growth and the stories progress. You can try to romance any IW companion or another player,( if they allow it.) Relationships are a fundamental part of your characters experience but not everyone will be attracted to you and depending on your personal preferences some relationships may start off slowly, very slowly. I don’t mind you writing an intimate experience, but I will not accept explicit porn. This is a fade to black.
This adventure is based on exploration and discovery of yourself, others and your surroundings. Always remember that.
Money, Food, Equipment, Sleep.
Once you have stepped into my realm you will be faced with the situation of requiring equipment, food and money. If you have no money look for work, if you have no food try begging. Sleep is essential and will trigger certain events. Always find a safe area to rest whether it’s out in the country or in a city, ask the locals, if you are nice to them they may be able to help. You take your life in your own hands if you camp out alone. If however you are stranded at night on your own especially in the country I may be able to aid you at a cost.
Language.
Cussing if fine, we’re fecking adults.
Race Languages.
I have several races that use their own language, if you are in the company of one of these characters and they say something you don’t understand then ask them what they said, simple. They may even teach you a few phrases. If your character has their own language and wish to use it in certain circumstances then be my guest and my IW character will respond. The Glass Green doorway has granted you the understanding of the ‘folk speech’, which means we all speak basic English.
Dos and Don’ts on writing.
I will only accept one liners if the situation calls for it, i.e. You are about to pass out and can only grunt a response.
I know there are many people here that love to write but we don’t need a novel sized post of your experience. A few paragraphs will be sufficient. I control the landscape, weather and what you can interact with. I will allow you to embellish on my description from your characters point of view especially concerning the adjacent landscape but I do not wish to read through 40 thousand words to describe a small patch of wild flowers in the style of Jean M. Auel
First response. Know your character and how they would respond instantly to certain situations. First responses are valuable in the development of the story and relationships. Don’t take all day to analyse a simple situation. Think of it in real life terms. If someone has poked you on the nose you’re not going to stand around all day contemplating how you should react.
You control your character, do not write for others, especially mine.If you find yourself incarcerated then you will have limited control. The narrator and IW characters will regulate that scene until you are released. Bare in mind that if I believe you have the skill I may give you the opportunity to escape.
If you have teamed up with a player that has not responded for several days then the narrator or I will take control of the scene and allow you to proceed.
Long term or Short. It’s up to you. You may not like my world and wish to leave. I will respond to your request and open up another doorway so you can exit without breaking immersion. This will also give you the opportunity if you decide later to rejoin with your original character or if you prefer a new one. If there is no response from your character after seven days and you have not PM me with a reason you will be removed through an unstable void which your character will not be able to return. That being said you can start a new adventure with a new character especially if your character died.
Unlike T.V. Reading allows you to draw your own ideas of what a character or scene looks like. However, sometimes this can lead to confusion between writer and reader. If you have not entirely understood what I have written PM me. I am here to help. There are certain areas that may be difficult to describe even for me so I will revert to a visual aid, I’ll upload a picture.
Spelling and Grammar.
I know grammar is confusing and spelling can be tricky, but please make an effort. Read over your post.
If you have any questions, unsure about events or have some ideas on improving certain areas or want to contribute let me know either in OOC or PM me. This world was developed over a span of twenty years and I’m taking it for a test spin so I am open to new ideas.

"Don't worry. You'll be fine." Zero said, removing the chest piece of the soldier's armor. She bit her lip when she saw the damage done. It didn't seem awful, but ot could be awful. "What are you feeling, Jax?" Zero asked her teammate.
"Can't breathe."
"What does it feel like?"
"Like my chests... are full.."
Zero immediately took off his helmet. Didn't need more to learn his condition - his eyes were as red as blood.
"Zero, what's 07 status?" she heard through the intercom as she pulled out a small needle gun. Zero ignored it, trying to be as fast as possible in her work.
"Zero, how the hell is Jax?!" the captain yelled in her ear.
"He has Pulmonary Barotrauma, boss! I'm inserting a needle in the 2nd intercostal space in the mid-clavicular line in the affected hemithorax!"
"Oh, great, that explains it! Talk like a normal person, goddamit!"
The medic put the gun to 07's chests and pulled the trigger, sticking a needle into his chests. "His lungs are messed up from an explosion! I'm helping him!"
"What's your location?"
Zero put the gun back and pressed a button on her wrist device when a 3d blueprint of the large ship appeared in the thin air above her wrist.
"We're in Zone B, boss."
"Zero, listen to me - swarm of aliens are headed to your location. Get the hell out of there!"
Zero shivered and looked at 07. He wasn't able to stand up.
"Run." 07 managed to speak out.
She kept silent for a moment, trying to figure out what to do "I... but... I swore an oath." the woman prepared her gun.
"Screw the oath. Go."
"Stay here, don't move, just breathe."
The woman stood up "07 needs to be evacuated right now." she started speaking through the intercom "Tell the medical team that he suffers from Pulmonary Barotrauma, they'll know what to do, I gave him some time. I'll now give you time too."
She immediately ran through the door, out in the large hallway and waited, feeling like her heart was about to tear a hole in her chest and jump out.
"Zero, what are you doing?"
"Just come and pick him up!"
"Zero, this is a-"
The woman turned off the comunation device and a couple of seconds later she was able to hear the aliens. It seemed like they were running and she was right, not a minute later they appeared as she started shooting at them to take their attention. That's when they speed up towards her as she ran down the hallway.
Zero was a fast runner, she was able to outrun all of her team, but didn't think it was something that was crucial. Now, however, it gave the others time to pick up 07 and get him to their ship as the swarm of monstrous aliens were right behind her.
She felt like crying, but it could only slow her down. In her heart she knew that everything was over for her. She knew it when she took this decision. The best and the worst decision in her life. But she was a combat medic, she HAD to save the others. One death was better than two. If every combat medic was afraid to do their job, then a lot of soldiers would've died.
That's when she hit a dead end. Zero hit the wall with her hands "No! Damn!"
Now she didn't need the strength to run, so she let her tears out as she turned her back against the wall and pulled out her gun once again.
The medoc started shooting at the swarm before her, taking some of the aliens down and screaming as the tears blurred her vision. But the aliens were fast and were many.
Zero pressed her back against the wall like that would break a hole into it and she'd escape from there. Her attention was quickly taken away from the aliens to a bright green light behind her. She turned her head a bit to see what was happening, but couldn't distinguish anything. Was she starting to hallucinate due to the stress?
Even if she wanted to focus on the light, an alien jumping right at her made her turn her attention towards the damn thing.
And then she fell back.
"Can't breathe."
"What does it feel like?"
"Like my chests... are full.."
