A world without an inch of hope left. Each passing day was another day for destruction to spread. There was no more live to fight another day. It is another day, a day to fight. Most of humanity fled to the preserved areas with a highly fortified shield. The poorer parts of the world were left to the monsters and plague that roamed the now almost completely barren desert of a world. Most survivors formed colonies and clans. Others became bandits and robbed caravans. No hope, no more.
Claire shot her flare high. It reached the tips of the clouds then came back to earth. Claire sighed continuing trudging along even slowly now. At least now I won't starve to death, at least a bandit could kill me or something. Claire thought holding her backpack. Her rations had disappeared. She was now left at the small scraps of food she found lying around into abandoned towns. Her weak knees suddenly gave out on her, she collapsed from exhaustion a find a small palm tree for shade. Wait, palm tree. Water! She scrambled to her knees and slid into a small pond. She sucked in the water quenching her thirst. She found two fish. With her knife she stabbed each one and brought it under the palm tree. Cleaning off the fish she bit into it. She quickly engulfed the rest of the fish. She lured back agains the tree and closed her eyes. Rest. Yes.

Claire would rather suddenly feel someone shaking her. A furry hand rested on her shoulder and when her eyes opened, the face of a very concerned jackal boy would be staring at her.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his black but glossy fur showing a faint reflection of the moon, which was now high in the sky. His big ears were laid back with worry and his yellow eyes showed concern.

Claire's eyes widened with terror. She had no idea what this creature in front of her. She quickly reached for her crossbow and aimed it at the creatures head. "W-who or w-what are y-you?" She was clearly terrified. Being only 16 she was very scared at the world around her unaware of an other humanoid species. She reached out to touch her fur then pulled back deciding, if she did, this creature could probably bite her whole hand off. "W-where did you come from?" She shifted around on her feet remaining alert for any other of these things.
He reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Hey, it's alright," he said reassuringly, "I'm not gonna hurt you," he smiled and sat down in front of her, "My name is Nomti. I'm an Anubian Jackal," he said with a smile, "You're safe here, but you looked like you were really sick," he said, that concerned tone reappearing in his voice.
(I still would like to continue this )
A young woman held a cough to herself as she sat in a tree not far from the pair. She had been sick for three days now and she needed water, but she didn't wan to be seen by anyone else for her own safety. Struggling to keep another cough in, her vision got darker and she felt dizzy. Finally letting a cough out, she fell to the ground about 20 feet below her and wrapped herself into a ball, her backpack ripped open from the fall. Coughing again, she spit blood onto the ground and cursed the laws of nature as she fell unconscious, a small puddle of blood around her mouth and leg. ((Hope you don't mind me joining))
