What kind of a world do we live in where “extra credit” means sacrificing your life? Your grades are poor; you are on the brink of failing. You are pulled from class one day where the teacher tells you to become a hunter, so there’s still a chance you can graduate. Being a hunter is not an honorable mission, given only to those students who won’t be missed. Will you show up the school by becoming the greatest, or will you die trying to up your grades? Based on a weird dream I had.
Victorian setting, heavy Bloodeborne vibes. Some modern touches. Either high school or college setting. Magic exists and you don't have to be a human. I ask that you select a "class" for your character, and stick to it:
Warrior - Low magic, high strength. Relies on physical strength for proficient weapon handling.
Gunner - Low magic, low strength. Uses tactical skills for proficient weapon handling.
Archer - Moderate magic moderate strength, infuses magical abilities into their arrows.
Rogue - Moderate magic, low strength. Combines their magic abilities with their stealth, commonly uses small blades and traps.
Mage - High magic, low strength. Keeps their distance from foes and uses their spells for combat.
Any gender, any pairing. Prompts:
Student x Student (Platonic or Romantic)
You are paired with another student, someone you barely know and wish you didn’t have to work with. They press all your buttons and are just a chore to be around. There’s no way either of you alone could defeat the beasts, but together...
Student x Teacher (Platonic, Familial)
You are paired with a Master; a grumpy professional who doesn’t seem to like you very much. They do their job in taking you under their wing, but you’re their sixth! When they save you after almost being killed during your first battle, maybe this won’t be so bad after all...?

Magic is very common. Magic-tech, grand floating islands, forests that sing, magical creatures may be an every-day occurrence.
Industrial revolution
Wartime/soldier RPs. Combat is a given and will likely be graphic, but there's the potential for non-combat "in the trenches" scenes. World War 2, Vietnam, etc.
Romance isn't outright desired, but can happen if we decide the characters are perfect for each other. The romance won't be important to the overall plot.
Details: Freeform, paragraphs required, long-term RP partner preferred. Will be played one-on-one.
