It was early in the morning, the sky transitioning from deep deep purples to soft oranges and radiant yellows as the sun rose from it's sleep. The forest life began to rise as well, birds flitting through the air singing their soft tunes to greet the morning. Squirrels scampered across the ground and families of animals began their day, forging for their morning meal as the young-lings eagerly pounced upon their siblings. The winds began to gently stir upon the forest, swaying the crisp green leaves of the trees.
One particular tree, it roots deeply embedded into the soft soil besides a large stream was particularly awoken by fresh morning air. It's limbs began to lower, the roots slowly pulling our from the Earth. The rough bark began to soften into soft, green skin and the leaves began to cascade down the back of the tree, turning into messy deep green hair. It only took moments for the tree to have never existed and in it;s place a tired Nymph. Her eyes slowly fluttered awake, her aged yellow eyes ran over the mossy ground beneath her,"Morning already?"she yawned and walked over to the stream, dropping to her knees with cupped hands to scoop up some water,"Good morning mother..."she whispered before she drank the cool water.";

A dark creature walked along a nearby path. Not dark by nature... Not really, but dark in appearance and very out of place in the lush green forest.
The black-furred creature was looking around with a rather placid expression, admiring the beauty of Greece with his observant yellow eyes. It was only when he spotted the tree girl, for he didn't know what else he might call her, that he stopped.
"Hello!" he called and stepped towards her, but didn't get too close. He wasn't familiar with many of the creatures of Greece, and the experiences he'd had weren't particularly good, what with several roudy centaurs, and an encounter with a very angry manticore. He wanted to be ready in case she was just as vicious.

Luell tensed as she heard a voice, not one familiar to her. Not that she was really familiar with any voices besides her own. She glanced around for a moment until her eyes landed on the dark creature. Her own yellow eyes met with the others and she gasped, accidentally slipping into the stream, landing on her rear,"O-ouch..."she whimpered. She had almost forgotten bout the traveler and quickly stood,"H-hello!"she called, looking down nervously.
He moved towards her when she fell, a concerned look on his face, "Are you okay?" he asked and reached to help her up but she had already stood. The jackal-esque creature flicked his ears about and examined her, "What are you? I just saw you change from a tree."
Luell combed her fingers nervously through her long, dark green hair,"Nymph...what are you then as well? I've never seen a creature like you as well."she asked, taking a step back as he got closer to her. She studied his features curiously and once she noticed the look of concern on his face she calmed a bit.
"I'm Nomti," he gave her a little bow, "I'm an anubite, servant of the god of judgement, Anubis. I'm from Egypt and in serving as an emissary right now from our underworld to Hades. Do you know where the nearest underworld passage is? I'm sorta lost."
Luell blinked as he bowed, never having seen such a gesture. She bowed as well,"The nearest passage to the Underworld? That's days away if I remember correctly."she walked past him and over to the path he had come off of,"Oh! I'm Luell!"she flushed lightly ,having so rudely forgotten to introduce herself,"T-the nearest passage is..."she knelt down and gently touched the soil,"Very far away..."she answered and turned to look at him.
"I'd be able to find it myself..." he rubbed the back of his head embarassedly, "But I have a hard time tracking if it's not on sand. Would you mind guiding me there?"
Luell hesitated at the request and took a long moment to think it over before she nodded slightly,"Yes, I suppose I could."she smiled a bit at the Anubite,"But in exchange I would like you to answer some question I've wanted answered."she walked over to him.
"Thank you very much, Luell," he smiled happily and wagged his spindly tail that came out from under the gold, red and white skirt he wore, "What question do you have? I can answer quite a few."
Luell smiled back just slightly and turned, beginning to walk down the path,"Nothing personal, I've been living in the forest for many years and I just want to know about the world outside it."her smiled widened slightly,"What is...Egypt like?"
"The city or the land around it?" he asked, "The city of Egypt is a lot different than the land around it."
Her eyes sparkled with curiosity at him,"Anything really. I've never been there so..."she clasped her hand together with a smile.
"I guess I'll start with the city then," he said and started to follow her, "The city is massive, full of markets with everything from the finest purple silk to the most delicious of apples. The citadel is highlighted with gold and the roads in the royal districts have lapis lazuli deigns on them. The nights are alive with wondrous festivals.
"The soldiers who patrol the city have iron armor lined with good on the outer edges, making them gleam even in the dark. They do a good job and they are very strict about what they do," he explained.
"The deserts, where I usually am, are full of sand dunes that can be a mile high. They shift and change by the hour and for someone who isn't familiar with the desert will easily perish. I guard the pyramids most nights. They rest near the Nile River which flows through part of the city and also allows us I have so much food. The pyramids are the tombs of our honored dead, our pharoahs and priests."

Luell took each word to memory and in her mind she tried to imagine such wondrous sights,"Oh...I would so enjoy traveling to such an amazing place but..I would not last long in such an environment."she let out a long sigh as she pushed her hair to the side,"Where else have you traveled? Is this your first time in Greece?"she turned to look at him, smiling a bit.
"Second time," he said, "I've never been to one of the cities, but you said you'd only ever been in this forest," he shrugged, "I was here with one of my brothers last time, about 40 years ago. He was showing me the underworld passage, but my memory isn't quite like his and he's been here more than I. He's not as curious about the humans though."
Luell looked forward as they walked, nodding every now and then to let him know she was listening,"Humans? They are interesting creatures I suppose. Sometimes I'll see one passing by..."she shrugged,"What are your Gods like? Assuming you have them of course. I've heard of one called...Anubis? Does he belong to Egypt?"she looked to him.
He raised an eyebrow, "YOu don't have the best memory do you?" he asked, "You just heard Anubis from me, becfuase I said that I was one of his ervants and that he is the god of judgement..."
Luell paused as she walked and turned her head down in embarrassment,"No, I suppose not. I'm sorry...I'm not used to company..."she mumbled and continued to walk forward.
"Sorry, didn't mean to be rude," he apologized, "Our Egyptian gods are mostly benign beings. Even our god of the dead, Osiris is a good god, unlike Hades," he commented, "Ra is much more important to us than Helios or Apollo is to you. They are both god of the sun, but Ra is the sun. Helios Apollo guides him through the day and then leaves at night and Bastet and Sekhemit take his place with Ra."
