With stay at home orders remaining strong in most places, video games are one of the few ways people can stay connected. What have y'all been playing lately? Have you done anything cool? Why don't you share cool screenshots or stories here! Who knows, maybe you'll find new people to play with!

Down below, I'll be posting a few of my favorite screenshots from my latest obsession, Forza Horizon 4! If y'all ever wanna play with me on it, or maybe in like MineCraft, Elder Scrolls Online, or something, just find me as the KansasVenomoth on Xbox!

Even in the virtual world, I gotta represent.

Here's the rest of the album for those who are curious.
No screenshots, but two moments that really stuck out to me a long time ago were from God of War 2 & 3 respectively.

The bridge collapse in GoW2 on the PS2 was, at the time, ridiculously intense and left me breathless and with my heart pounding, and it completely sealed the deal on if I would get a PS3 or XBOX 360.

Fast forward a few months (I was a late adopter), and I finally have a PS3 and a brand new 1080p flat-screen. You see, kids, televisions used to have these things called "tubes"
I'm playing through the intro of GoW3 and I'm staring like I've never seen color before. Everything was so detailed and vibrant! You could literally watch a bead of sweat roll down Kratos's back. I was blown away by the technology.

There's been other moments since then, but those two always stand out in my mind.
Ever since reading The Hobbit when I was little, I've always loved Mirkwood forest. I've played Lord of the Rings Online for many years, and thanks to the devs making all the content completely free until May 31 due to everyone's stay-at-home orders, I'm finally able to quest there-- on top of getting the cosmetic pet I've always wanted.

There are also some festival scavenger hunt quests going on right now, which makes me revisit some of the beautiful places in Middle Earth.

It's amazing how technology evolves, eh?
I've put together a bunch of FH4 liveries...

These ones are personal liveries, which use downloaded user-created decals, as well as default ones and some I put together myself

These ones are replicas of liveries from other racing games, which only use default decals and decals I made so I could share them

Colin McRae Vision livery from DiRT 3

Forge Motorsport touring car livery from GRID Autosport (thankfully, you can't tell how awful my attempt at the Michelin man was in the screenshot >.>)

Oakley Motorsport street livery from GRID Autosport (Believe it or not, that single-colour Öhlins logo took most of the time it took to make that livery... it would have saved hours if it was possible to just recolour the default manufacturer decals)

Team Roberts rally livery from Grand Tour Racing 98/Total Drivin

Team Lumiere rally livery from Grand Tour Racing 98/Total Drivin (on a Sierra instead of an Escort for variety)

I haven't done much else cool recently though, unless you count completing Ori and the Will of the Wisps (and crying like a baby afterwards). I've also been playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and man... that Honeybee Inn sequence... so fabulous.

And well... I guess it's gaming related that I learned to play Final Fantasy X's 'To Zanarkand' on piano... the Piano Collections version (mostly... that impossible part with the string of semi-quavers is still way beyond me).
Ok so this one is pretty old now but it was really fun, I dont know if it'll come through in just telling it but it was really exciting at the time.

So a long time ago me and my best friend were playing Supreme Commander, and we werent really that great at the game. We ended up having our defenses be overwhelmed and the enemy breached the main section of our base, *but* a small defensive outpost that my friend had built on the other side of the map survived. So, I had one of my few remaining engineers (that build bases) teleport through enemy lines (and had this kinda cat-and-mouse game where I had to skip between different groups of enemies and avoid their armies that were cutting me off) and I managed to get just a single unit out there.

The enemy A.I. kinda messed up here cause like, they had already taken our home positions and didnt really know what to do, so we had a bit of time to fortify, and we made this impregnable stronghold where we couldnt possibly win, but we were able to hold off the enemy armada for like twenty, thirty minutes of continuous fighting, even though we had already lost control of the entire map and had very few units left.

We were super excited at the time and we ended up spending quite a while perfecting our stronghold designs and trying to re-create the scenario that lead to it. We had acronyms for different types of defensive outposts (The only one I remember is FPD, for Forward Point Defense. There was FSFD but I dont remember what it stood for.)

Does playing old tabletop board war games via VASSAL count? I worked in one of my characters (Rolf Steiner) into someone’s ‘Streets of Rostov’ Squad Leader variant of the WW2 battle on the Russian front in the summer of 1942.

It’s been going off and on the last couple weeks and we went for the closing yesterday. Steiner nearly made it through without a scratch but as the Germans were mopping up with the Russians pretty much wiped out, he wandered into a street in the line-of-sight of a disabled Russian T34 tank. The tank couldn’t move, but it was still manned and the armament still functioned, and the bow machine gun got Steiner and two of his squad.

Steiner rolled for recovery and got to his feet carrying a wounded comrade to boot. He made it one hex when the tank hit with an HE (high-explosive) round killing the guy he was carrying and critically wounding Steiner.

The next phase had one of his men roll good dice and got Steiner out of the street as the tank was hit with a Panzerfaust killing the crew inside with the kinetic plasma-blast.

Germans won a tactical victory and Steiner is on a hospital train car back to Berlin with shrapnel in the head and back.

And so the opportunity presents its self...

I'm more of an all over the place gamer.
Currently, I am playing Minecraft, I Mod on a server so I have too.

Other than that Witcher 3, The Elder scrolls online recently and Borderlands 2 {Can't Handel 3 yet... My pc needs an upgrade:,( ]

The coolest things I did recently made Geralt look like a modern boy hippy and started to build a LOTR and HTTYD inspired build... Yeah and lol... got inspired by Kirito and changed my mc skin.

Sadness
Making it to the moon in Kerbal Space Program, I don't do much space engineering but now I'm addicted to playing KSP. Now I'm working on a rover to then send it up to the moon but I'm also trying to find a way to put in the rocket, I'm a noob at KSP.

We'll definitely need to play some FH4 together in the future!
I've no screenshots to share, but this really funny story stuck with me ever since it happened. It must be two years I think.

A friend and I were taking turns playing Silent Hill... 4 I think it was? She fought a tough boss on low health and very little ammo. She used up all her healthdrinks halfway. No actual weapons besides the handgun. Two more hits and she would've died when she finally beat him- she threw a damn TV that she had wasting space in her inventory on the boss once she had depleted her ammo, which was, I don't know, two HP?

The boss died.

I promise it was far more hilarious when it happened than it sounds like written like this. We've never lucked out like that before or since.

Whenever she plays the game since, she keeps a nearly useless tv in her inventory for good luck.

XD I can't believe the words, but... I can imagen it ...

That must have been a killer display of great graphics. The boss couldn't handle it XD
Beating a twink on a Dark Souls 3 invasion with a very underleveled and underequipped character compared to his was a very satisfying moment.
Best way to destroy a vampire in Skyrim. My Aesi Culath, having some fun.
