Eshe sat cross legged underneath the broad leaves of a palm tree near an oasis as a war raged on in front of her. The young priestess watched the two armies with minor interest as te soldiers clashed then Crumbled and then reformed slowly.
These armies were made of sand and each soldier was about an inch tall and the armies were about 3 feet by 3 feet if the were put into rank an not too far away from the back lines were two cities of sand, completely To scale with the soldiers and milling about with sand people.
Eshe waved her hand and the ground in the middle of the battle began to shake and then four King Scorpions crawled out of the sand, scaring away nearby sand men. Thy sat patienty, waiting for sandman to mount and control them and the little armies quickly understood. A little shout could be heard from the general as e pointed his spear at the scorpions and the soldiers mounted the scorpions before the other army knew what was happening and the scorpion riders quickly destroyed the enemies ten started towards the city.
Eshe moved so that she was laying on her belly and rested her chin on her paws while she slowly kicked her feet paws in the air. She let out a lonely sigh as the army which caught the scorpions breached the enemy's walls and with a wave of her hand, the sand people crumbled and the scorpions burrowed into the sand, leaving only the two cities.
The priestess sighed and moved towards the oasis and set her feet in the water after removing the laces from her paws and she lay back in the sand.

The Desert Mirage saw what took place in the sand, and knew he had a chance for a bit of fun. The Desert Mirage waited until she moved and placed her feet in the water to play his tricks. All around the priestess the oasis grew and bloomed, seeming to take up the dunes as far as the eye could see. If that was not enough to gain her attention, scorpians like the ones she had just controlled roared up out of the sands, bigger and more shimmering. Before the beasts could touch the priestess, though, they shimmered and dissapeared. He thought maybe this trick would get a reaction before his reveal.

Eshe looked around, startled as the sand started to sprout lush plant life and she seemed very confused until the big scorpions appeared and before they even disappeared, she had conjured up two solid scorpion men out of the sand and they would fight for her if need be.
She was taken aback when the scorpions disappeared.
"Set has infected this place," she growled and looked around, "Show yourself, vile being!" she snarled and a golden staff topped with an ankh appeared in her hand.

As soon as the priestess spoke everything that hadn't been there before shimmered and vanished. The Desert Mirage, appearing as a youthful male, materialised behind Eshe and tapped her on the shoulder before taking a step back. "Who's that?" asked the male, intrigued by the blame that was placed on someone other than he.

Eshe whirled around, bringing her staff towards the boy's waist in a powerful swing and both her scorpion men spun around too and leaped towards him.
"You should know. You are his servent, are you not?"

The boy shimmered and vanished at the threat and reappeared several feet away. He cocked his head at the group. "How can I be a servant of a person I don't even know?"

She cocked her head to the side as well but didn't release her scorpion men.
"You truly do not know?"

The boy shook his head. He looked to be in his late teenage years. "I tend not to meddle in the affairs of gods and humans too much. I do not belong to the dessert, nor do I the sun. I belong to me, as all mirages do." He smiled and gave a shimmering bow, having revealed slightly who he is. The understanding, however, was up to te audience. After he bowed realization dawned on him of what she was talking about. "No, I work on my own, despite any claims made otherwise."

This boy confused her and she waved her hand, dismissing the scorpion men who crumbled to sand as if they had never been there.
"If you are a mirage, then does that mean I am hallucinating?"

The boy rolled his eyes. "Are you infering that I am not real?" He shook his head at her. "I can assure you I am very much so real. Just because something seems like it could be fake, doesn't mean it is." The youth shimmered and dissapeared, then materialised right next to the priestess, pinching her to show his point before stepping away.

"Ow!" she let out a startled yelp and frowned, "What do you want then?"

The mirage shrugged. "I was bored and you looked lonely. You don't know who I am do you?" Miri had mixed feelings about that. It was fun to be mysterious, but he enjoyed bein known. That is by he often made friends with the creatures of the lads rater than the humans.

"I have no idea who you are."

"Maybe you have heard of this, 'The Desert Mirage'?" He looked at her for an answer.

"Yes, but I've heard of ones that aren't people, ones cause by being in the desert for too long."

"That's my doing!" said The Desert Mirage proudly. "I'm Miri, the Mirage of the Desert." He held out his hand to the anubis.

The young priestess cocked her head to the side and then tentatively shook his hand.

Miri's own handshake was strong and firm. "Why do you look confused?"

"It's not just a trick of the mind? A hallucination?"

"well... they can be called that. Whatever you would like to refer to them as, I still control them." He shook his head and rolled his eyes a little bit.
