Jason watches Hotaru, a huge grin plastered on his face. "C'mon Hotaru. Its me, Jason. Has it be that long midget?" Jason chuckles to himself as he watches Hotaru and stares into her bright emerald green eyes. She'd always been a fiery thing. He turns his attention to the maiden in front of him. " I have no quarrel with you or your company. But that cat, over there, happens to be my sister."

Dmitri turned to this newcomer as well and put one hand on the hilt of the war axe on his hip.

Leith chuckled as he looked down at the cat poised for attack,"My, something interesting already seems to be at play."he said with a grin. He sat above in the banisters of the inn, lazily swinging his feet back and forth. The rogue watched them with an amused glint in his eye. After a moment he jumped down, landing on the balls of his feet. He strolled past them and sat down at a nearby table. This time, Leith wore something different. Something that wouldn't be odd for a rogue to be seen wearing. He wore black pants that looked rather tight, with two sheaths carrying black daggers on each thigh. He wore a simply black shirt that was a bit loose, his chain-scythe attached to his back.

"I don't care." Thalia replied flatly. "If you plan to cause trouble here, sibling or no, I will remove you." She threatened. The woman cast a quick glance back at Leith, but turned back to Hotaru's sibling once confirming that the Rogue was just taking a seat.

Hotaru stands, shocked by his words. "Jason?..." Narrowing her eyes, she examines him. Sniffing the air, she smiles , showing her razor sharp canines. "So it really is you. I thought I smelled wet dog around here." She puts a reassuring hand on Thalia's shoulder. "Its alright. He startled me."

Dmitri watched carefully but took his hand off his axe and started fiddling with his dagger again.

Jason raises an eyebrow in questioning. " You all seem alert and jumpy... " He commented, looking about. "What's going on?"

"Have you not stepped outside, comrade?" he asked rhetorically and threw the dagger with expert precision, sending a rat sliding into the wall. He stood and retrieved the dragon bone blade then sat down again.

Jason snaps his fingers, a look of fret on his handsome face. "Oh yeah, I'm passing through, and I thought I should mention... Did you know some one stole your sun?" He chuckles, and then flicks his gaze back to Hotaru. He notices her bow, arrows, and other weapons hidden beneath her cloak. He looks back at Thalia, all joking and playfulness gone from his voice. It is replaced with downright hostility. "What does this have to do with my sister?"

The woman immediately began to return Jason's hostility, her expression darkening again as she straightened up to her full height. "Miss Hotaru has volunteered to accompany us on a quest to fix the disaster in the west." She replied tersely. "And unless you've come to do the same, I doubt it's any of your business."

Hotaru stares at Thalia, in wonder and in interest. Jason was not the average sized man, and yet, she spoke to him unafraid. Jason even looked taken back. Hotaru smiled, and chuckles to herself. She decided that she likes this woman immediately.

Jason stares at her, surprised to have been talked to so rudely. Fire sparked in his eyes as he spoke. "No." He said flatly. " Hotaru isn't going any where with you. Do you realize the dangers you're putting her in?!." Jason took a deep breath and glared down at Thalia, attempting to control his anger.

"The keyword was 'volunteered'." The Paladin hissed back, clearly unimpressed with the man's tone of voice. He wasn't the first nor would he be the last nasty attitude she'd have to face. Velan slowly began to edge out of the line of fire. "The notice made very clear the dangers applicants would be facing, and if miss Hotaru is willing to undertake the journey anyway, then who am I - and who are you - to stop her?"

Jason stares at her, enraged. Suddenly, he face goes blank. "I am no one to stop her. No one but her brother who actually cares about what happens to her, unlike you all, who don't even know her." Jason turns to face Hotaru. "You're coming with me. Now." He growls.

Hotaru glares back at him with enough malice to scare an entire army, but doesn't bother to respond. Instead, she moves closer to Dmitri and the others.

A snarl crossed the Paladin's face, and it took a grand effort for her to unclench her hand from the handle of her sword. Her opinion of this man was steadily dropping notch by notch, and he was wasting vital time their party could be using to travel. She was in no mood to let her quarry get away while she had to play mediator to a family squabble.

"Your sister is old enough to make her own decisions." She growled. "If she chooses to leave with you, the choice is hers and hers alone. But,"Thalia's voice took on a decidedly venomous tone. "If miss Hotaru does not choose to leave with you, and you try to force her, I will leave you as a mess for the local guards to wipe up." She threatened.

Dmitri stood up, the large man all the more intimidating by the spiked, bone armor on his body.
"She can make her own decision without you. You have no right since you obviously haven't web here for her in a long time," Dmitri said and put a comforting hand on Kotaru's shoulder.

The thought of Dmitri and Thalia actually protecting her suprised Hotaru. She promised herself that she would look our for these two, especially. Hotaru stares at Jason, her emerald eyes flashing. "I made an agreement. I stick to my word. Something you should do more often."

Jason winces and Hotaru's harsh words before glancing around the room, contemplating his odds. There was no way he could snatch Hotaru up, and run. He doubted that he'd get to the door. Finally, he made his choice. "Fine. If you wont come with me, I'll go with you." He looks around the room, an air of finality about him.

Leith stood, with an annoyed expression. He walked over to Hatoru and placed a hand on her shoulder with a smile,"She is in the very best care. Each and everyone one of us are skilled and will look out for one another. Should you need to test that ability I will happily stand to protect her word.he took a step forward, reaching a hand back to grab the handles of his chain scythe.

He paused as he offered to accompany them,"perhaps you could be of use."he sighed and pulled his hands from his weapon. A bit disappointed.
