"You act as though we are vulgar."he grumbled and stroked the mares manE affectionately before he grabbed the reins,"I wonder how you can deal with such a protective brother Hatoru."he smiled to her.
"If you're so insistent, then get yourself a horse." Thalia remarked dryly as she urged Barda past Jason and out of the stable area; out onto the road to wait for everyone else. Velan followed them on foot, and then used the stable fencing to jump up and onto Barda's back, where he settled down behind Thalia.
"It's fine, lad," Dmitri smirked, doing his best to ignore the cat girl's clothes... Or lack thereof. And he was succeeding.
The large khajiit lifted Kotaru up onto the horse with ease and set her in the front area of the saddle then he climbed up and sat behind her, taking the reins and starting forwards so that they were next to Thalia.

Hotaru smiles sweetly at him. "Usually, I don't have to." She shoots a glare in Jasons direction before turning to chase. "Can you help me mount?" Out of the corner of her eye, she sees Jason drift into the shadows. She smiles, hoping that he's leaving.
"Yes, that is all," he smiled at her, "How can he be so protective of you? It seems like you haven't seen each other in years."
"That's because we haven't..." Hotaru sighs. "But that's a long and unimportant story." Hotaru smiles at him brightly, flashing her canines.
Leith looked towards the group with a small excited smile,"shall we be going then? Oh, Hotaru your brother may ride with me if he so wishes."he chuckled, glancing towards the cat hiding in the shadows. It almost looked as though he was sulking.
Dmitri's face was hidden again by the strange shadow cast over his face by the helmet, but he was smiling softly, "Then why is he so protective at all? I can smell it on him. He's like me," Dmitri said quietly then whispered, "Werewolf."
Seeing most of the group on their mounts and ready to travel, Thalia clicked her tongue and urged Barda forward (after giving Velan a quick elbow to the back to get him to turn around and sit properly). They had a long ways to ride, and a pretty tight schedule to stick to.
"Keep your eyes and ears open as you ride," The Paladin advised the group over her shoulder. "There are many dangers along these roads, and with most of the guards concentrated on aiding refugees and disaster relief, anything we encounter we'll have to handle on our own."
((From this point on I'll be rolling 1d6 every post I make, just to give this traveling a bit of chance combat. If I roll odds, there'll be an encounter/fight with a creature. Evens means a clear road.))

Leith's expression turned from mocking to serious as Thalia began to lead the group. He followed behind her on his mare, who looked as though she very much wanted to run at a full gallop. He stroked her mane to keep her calm,"we must be patient, I'm sure things will get fun."he chuckled before he went silent.
"I can handle almost anything on my own, but it never hurts to have a team," Dmitri smiled, "Ancient dragons though... Elder dragons too... There's no way I could face those alone. I once fought an Ancient Dragon with a full regiment of guards and only six of them survived and the dragon flew away. It died later from its wounds, and I turned its bones into swords for the guards who survived, but it wasn't a good experience."
"Dragon battles rarely are…" Thalia murmured, though her tone didn't seem to be in the present. Velan spun around where he sat to face the rest of the group and crossed his legs to keep his balance.
"That sounds like quite the fight," He commented to Dmitri, his curiosity piqued. "D'you get into those often? Battles with dragons, I mean?"

Leith glanced back as he heard talk of dragons,"I would have enjoyed to watch such a battle."he commented before he turned his attention forward, past Velan and Thalia as they rode out of town. He pulled out a piece of black cloth and tied it around his nose and mouth so he wasn't sneezing the entire ride.
"No, that was the last dragon I've fought. It was about a year ago," he said thoughtfully, "Haven't seen many dragons since an all the ones I have were actually... Docile. I won't kill one that doesn't cause trouble," he said with a shrug then looked down at Kotaru, "What do you mean? Am I sure about what?"
Hotaru smiles teasingly at Dmitri. "Are you sure you didn't make that up?"
"Why make up a story that can be so easily confirmed or disproven?" Velan asked Hotaru with a chuckle. "Fighting a dragon isn't something one can do covertly. It's an event that's bound to have witnesses." Thalia listened to the conversation with one ear as she kept her eyes on the road.
Some dozens of feet ahead, the foliage rustled, and a furry tail waved into sight for a moment. The Paladin stiffened, but as they approached that point in the road, whatever was in hiding scampered off, frightened by the sound of so many hoofbeats and voices.

Dmitri growled a bit, "I am Khajiit, but I am not a liar," he said, "I would not make such a thing up. People died under my command. I was charged with leading those guards and bringing them back. Do you know how many sons, daughter, wives, fathers and mothers I went to to personally apologize?"
Hotaru jumps slightly, startled by his tone. "I apologize Dmitri... Please, forgive me." Hotaru looks off into the distance, feeling guilty.
