Always changing but always there.

Eshe walked slowly along through the desert. In the near distance behind her were the Great Pyramids, were silhouetted against the setting sun. She waved her hand and the sand beneath her feet shifted and swirled then built up in front of her in the shape of a human girl about her own "age."
"Good evening," she said to the Sand person, who started walking with Eshe. She said nothing in response but just walked alongside her.
After a while, Eshe got to an oasis and she looked around with her big ears perked up in hopes f seeing her friend Nomti but she found herself alone and so she sat down with her back against a palm tree and put her tail on her lap and stroked it.
She let out a lonely sigh then closed her eyes.

Hotaru crouched high in the branches of a palm tree, and stares down at the person below her. Jumping gracefully into the sand, she stares down at the child. "Who are you?"
The priestess jumped up suddenly and a golden staff appeared in her hand. She took a defensive stance.
"I am Eshe, Priestess of Anubis," she growled and slammed the bottom of her staff into the sand. The grains rumbled and then swirled up in a small tornado at either side of her then fell away, revealing two scorpion men, which were creatures much like centaurs, except their lower half was a scorpion and as big as a horse with massive stingers and vicious claws for arms.

"Who are you?"
Hotaru smiles, a grin instantly alighting her feline features. "I am a child of a goddess. My name is unimportant."
"Your name is the most important," she countered, "There are many gods. Two of which are cats, but you may be a daughter of Set for all I know. And that would not be good for you."
Hotaru narrows her eyes. "I am a daughter of the great Bastet. Do not DARE compare me to the insignificant litter of Set." Fire burns in her gains and eyes as she speaks.
Eshe lost all hostility upon learning Hotaru's mother and she just smiled, "Ob, I like her a lot. Your mother is very nice," she said with a wag of her tail and a warm expression.
Hotaru blinks, taken back by this kindness. "I'm unsure of how pleasant you shall find her, once she hears of this" she mumbles, some what pout-ily.
"Hears of what?" she asked, "You're the one who jumped me. How was I supposed to know you weren't gonna try to hurt me?"
Hotaru practically snarls. " I did not 'jump you' mundane. And if I wished to do so, it would have been done already." Hotaru relaxes and smiles some what sweetly. "My name is Hotaru."
"So you call jumping out of a tree in front of me not jumping me?" Eshe smirked, "And I'm about as mundane as you are, so you've got no right to be calling me that. Anyways, my name is Eshe. What are you doing here?"
Hotaru turns stares deep into their eyes. "I'm looking for someone I once knew, when I dwelled on earth. However, it seems at they have... Expired in my absence. I am looking for their reincarnation. Untill I find them, I consent myself with walking the earth. And you? "
Eshe nodded, believing her fully.
"I'm just lonely," she shrugged absently.
"I'm just lonely," she shrugged absently.
Hotaru examines her... "I suppose I could keep you company..." She settles into the sand.
Eshe's light blue eyes lit up with delight, "R-really?"
"Great!" she giggled excitedly, "Um... Well, what should we do?"
Hotaru tilts her head curiously. " Well where are you heading?," She asked.
"Nowhere, that's why I was sitting under the tree," she shrugged.
"well... I guess we'll just drift around together for a while" The Neko smiled, and put a reassuring hand on her Esehs shoulder.
