The Covenant are planning another large scale war against the UNSC, but the UNSC have something the covenant do not. Spartans, this is what gives the UNSC the clear advantage in a battle, but the covenant have numbers.

War, it never changes, anyone foolish enough to fight a war alone doesn't live long to tell the tale.
The UNSC have begun a spartan project on Reach and production of a few Spartans have already been complete. However, the Covenant know this and they are planning to strike. They have already begun a march towards reach, and they plan to kill every spartan their.

The Covenant: A war faction with a mix of different races, the Sangheili, The Grunts, Jackals, and the Prophets. They all work together for one cause, To control the halo's and destroy humanity.

The UNSC: The United Nation Space Command is humanities first and final line of defense against the covenant, having already produced enough units to hold back a covenant invasion they have willpower to add to it. They have Spartans as well, as a fail safe to the covenant invasions, they will do anything they can to push back the covenant and save the human race. Even at the cost of themselves

IC~ The Covenant armada launched from High Charity making it's way to reach slowly, the shipmaster of the covenant capital ship had spent years developing the invasion force necessary to defeat the spartans, but would it be enough? he cannot say for sure. He would take that risk, for the Great Journey

Dante would be doing his rounds on reach in his favorite vehicle, the classic Warthog. He smoothly drifted around a cliff wall barely missing a group of, now terrified, Moas. Dante hadn't heard the UNSC troops in the warthog with him talk in a while so he had just about forgotten about them even being there with him.

There were two other USNC soldiers in the warthog. One was on the gun and hanging on to it for dear life, they called him gunsmoke for an old old reason. The other, joyfully riding shotgun, was reffered to as Briggs. Briggs scanned the horizon as the spartan drifted around, so far nothing was new.

The covenant armada slip spaced 1 light year away from reach staying out of radar range, even then they cloaked themselves to hide from the radars even after they entered it range

Shipmaster: view the planet over the holotable
as the shipmaster walked over to the holotable a hologram of reach had been displayed along with all of it's defenses

Shipmaster: they seem to be very lightly guarded, why is that?

Sangheili Guard: sir, perhaps they aren't producing their spartan units on this planet

Shipmaster: don't question my authority, they are making those demons on this planet, and we will destroy ever last one of them, Helmsman move us into scanning range and keep us cloaked.

As the order was given the helmsman transmitted an encrypted signal ot all the other ships in the fleet and they remained cloaked but moved slowly towards reach

Back in the military base on Reach that served as her home, Clarissa was sitting cross-legged on the floor, fiddling with a plasma grenade. Other Spartans and USNC soldiers looked at her with a mix of emotions. Most just thought she was an idiot for toying with an explosive device like that. Clarissa just ignored them all, tucking her hair back behind her ears and continuing to try and figure out what the outer shell of the detonator was made of.

As the Armada moved within range of the planets defenses, the capital ships scanners were activated and they begun scanning for the spartans, one after another little red blips on the holograms surface showed each spartan in a different location. as the Shipmaster took notice of this he looked over at the Elite captain and nodded at him.
The Elite Captain then nodded back and walked out the door towards the main hangar to tell the rest of the covenant forces that they were ready.
They all remained cloaked

As they rode on Briggs recieved a call from main base. "Hey," he said as he tapped the spartan next to him, "HQ picked up weird signals coming from outside Reach's boundaries. They want us to head back." He shook his head, he had no idea what to make of this. A signal was picked up, but nothing else was.

Smirking to herself as she finally got the outer shell of the grenade to fall off, Clarissa held the tiny orb of condensed plasma energy up to the light. "Now without the casing... This should be... 78.9% more deadly!" the careless spartan thought aloud. "Now if only I could make a bigger version..."

The USNC soldier nearest to the spartan with the grenade backed away from her a little bit. He did not want to be caught in any explosion that she created. Then he received a call. "Spartan," he called, "they want you in the main room yesterday. I would get going."

A covie assault carrier moved near one of reaches satellites, it was the communications satellite destroying this would mean that Reach wouldn't be able to signal other planets for help but only within it's own atmosphere. Just then the Assault Carrier destroyed the communications satellite whilst remaining cloaked to not be seen. afterwards the armada moved slowly closer to reach but again they were careful not to uncloak

Sighing as she stood, Clarissa turned to the soldier with a sudden glare. "That would be Specialist Lee to you, soldier. Now move before I decide to test this on you." She threatened, holding the glowing sphere up to the man's face.

"Alrighty," he stopped the Warthog and spun it around, nearly staying in place. Once turned around he double timed it back to base.

The soldier that had spoken to Specialist Lee moved aside and snapped to attention for her to go to where she needed to. Back at the warthog, Briggs and Gunsmoke waited until their driver made a full stop to get off. "We'll take care of the hog," said Briggs, "you get to the main ro-"

The soldier was cut off when red lights flashed throughout the compound and a voice came over the intercoms. "Would all high-ranking personel please report to the main room. Would all high-ranking personel please report to the main room."

"Well crap," said Gunsmoke, "you better get down there ASAP!"

As soon as the red lights came on he was on his way, "Already gone, don't scratch my Warthog!"

Returning to her previous curious demeanor, Clarissa made her way to the main room as ordered, but at a leisurely walk. Despite having grown up in a military family, the brunette held little respect for authority and rarely followed orders as they were given.

The capital ship moved away from the stations, while at the same time the Cruisers and assault carriers moved towards the space stations, they began disrupting all signals between reach and the stations by using a jammer that blocked all communications and scanners between Reach and the stations
