Hey, I'm not sure about this at all, but I thought it was a good idea. I don't know if its been suggested, but here goes.
I am suggesting that there is a new forum created called Archives that houses the great RPs of the time (voted on by the populace), that only the select few get into. As such, every, week, perhaps? There should be a vote. The vote could go like this: Nominations-->Most Nominations-->Finalists-->Place in Archives.
So, it would be a Hall Of Fame for topics that others posted, and alongside with it, another forum for Nominations For Archives.
Good idea, or am I insane? (I know I'm insane, but still. )

This sounds like something that could rapidly turn into a popularity contest! I would feel very cautious about letting people vote on each other's RP.
Yes, it does. Quite honestly, I feel there's a ton of bugs to work out, but if its played right *I don't know how. Lie. I got a good idea how, but I'm not sure of it.*, you could get a nice addition.
I'd personally feel that there would be like a separate team of "mods" to look over the content of the submitted nomination (made with application. No, I'm not asking to be one of those. I ain't got the skillz.), governed by the best RPers here, which would also be chosen by vote. (Thinking Hijinx, Ben, those guys who are Mod material, but not mods).

Defining one person a better RPer than someone else is a dangerous path to tread. Many people will feel like they deserve the position, but they won't end up getting it. A lot of people who are considered mod material by our members either don't have the time to dedicate to the task, or lack the qualities that are necessary, as amazing as they are in any other way.
No matter how you work this out, it will always leave other people feeling insecure and not good enough. It's only bound to cause misery and unhappiness, and a reluctance to even try, because 'why bother? I'm not good enough anyway'. Popular RPers also don't necessarily have the skills and qualities you seek to raise awareness to, as popularity has very little to do with specific skills other than making tons of friends.
Encouraging high quality RP starts by not praising people into the skies, but encouraging those who are less experienced to expand their adventures and improve their skills by engaging them actively. This idea will only shun people from advancing and enjoying the stories the create, and make RP about being popular, not about being fun. I've had too many highly toxic experiences with systems similar to this. None of them were ever any good. So in my opinion, this is not something I'd endorse, ever, simply because I don't trust it to work out in any shape or form based on my experiences.

Well, no matter how hard I try, I'm still not getting past that beautiful piece of argument you put there.
