Eshe hummed a quiet lullaby to herself was as she walked out of the priestess' temple in the city of Egypt. The moon was high in the sky and only a few guards patrolled the sand stone streets.
Her bare, laced paws padded silently against the ground.
The young priestess stopped at a public fountain and stepped into the water, enjoying the cool feel on her feet paws.

Crouched on the top of a nearby building, Kraos was awoken by the quiet humming. He slid over to the edge to attempt to sense the source of it. He wasn't used to this temperature at night and he accidently kicked a pile of rubble. He swiftly concealed himself in the shadows once more waiting for a reaction.
Eshe looked around, startled. The cool might air must be getting to her... She didn't soot the little bit of rubble that had fallen and she looked down at her wet paws ad curled her toes then pulled off te laces woven around her paws and calves.
Relieved that the living creature didn't notice him, he slowly lowered himself down to the next ledge and began creeping his way over to the opposite side of the fountain. He used his sense of smell and identified it as some kind of furry creature; thinking it was just an animal he climbed back up the building. He was less cautious this time making a fair amount of noise before settling back into a slumber.
Now she knew someone was there. She quickly wrapped te laces around her forearm and then nimbly climbed up to the flat roofs of the Egyptian buildings. It took her a moment, but she located Kraos and she snuck up behind him, immediately sensing the evil within him and she grabbed him with uncanny strength and put him in a headlock.
"Who are you and why are you here?" she asked in a low growl, her furry lips brushing against his ear.
"Who are you and why are you here?" she asked in a low growl, her furry lips brushing against his ear.
Awake suddenly, Kraos' first instinct was to use his claws and scratch the thing holding him, it didn't relinquish its' grip so he said "I don't get why I should tell you, you are my enemy"
"What makes you think that?" Eshe retorted, "For all either of us know, this is some sort if misunderstanding," she said but didn't loosen her grip at all.
"Your voice doesn't carry malice, but your body reveals your standing" Kraos spat out. He struggled some more and was able to slip out, " Who are you, and why didn't I detect your approach?
"I am Eshe," was her only answer, "Now tell me who you are and why you even smell evil."
"Kraos, they used to call me before I slaughtered them." He rasped " And I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to wash away the stink of my festering wounds." Eshe noticed the large criss-crossing scars covering the Kobolds' body. "If you're going to kill me get it over with, I've suffered enough over this miserable plane of existance it would bbe a mercy..."
"Scars don't make you evil. Your own choices do," she countered and choked him until he passed out.
When Kraos woke up, he'd find himself before a massive, feral jackal with solid black fur and golden highlights around his eyes and the insides of his ears. Eshe was standing behind him.

He noticed the air smelled different; Suddenly he sensed multiple people and sprang into a defensive position, "Where am I? Who is there?" He smelled the strong musk of fur again, "It's you again large cat, Who are you."
"I am not a cat," Eshe growled.
The massive black jackal spoke, his voice ringing out loud and clear, "Calm yourself, Eshe," he said and then looked down at Kraos, "My priestess has brought you here because she believes you are evil in nature. She does not want you roaming the city unless there is proof you are not."

Hearing the Jackals' words, Kraos grinned so hard the scars on his face tore open and started to bleed again. "I'm not sure that I can prove to be innocent," Kraos said slowly "For to prove innocence, one must BE innocent. I have killed many humans for nothing more than personal vengeance, if you're interested I can tell you more, but I might waste time of your carefree lives." He spat blood on the floor "Tell me, where am I, you would do so much for a blind Kobold , Cats.
"Jackals! We're Jackals!" Eshe protested, "A jackal is just another breed of wolf... Technically..." she huffed and crossed her arms.
"Personal vengeance does not make you evil, and you are human too, are you not?" the big jackal asked, "In any case, it all depends on why you killed them. I am Anubis, God of Judgement. I will deem whether or not my priestess kills you."

"That is where you are mistaken, Anubis" He said "I am not human, I hail from the northern lands of Germany. The people I killed were humans young and old, male and female, pure and wicked; I don't regret any of it for their skins kept me warm at night." He takes a moment to look at his coat which smells sweet with rot, and continues "I used to be a passive child, but my master was cruel and he threw me into a pit of feral rats every night, and would allow me to recover in the morning. I was forced to survive that for months regrowing my flesh only to lose it instantly; I finally snapped after 3 months of that and I slaughtered my master, donning his skin and devouring his flesh. I developed a taste for warm flowing blood. I am a wicked creature but you will have no ease in killing me, your blades will be dulled by my hardened skin, and I am incapable of feeling pain anymore."
"You killed a cruel man, but then you killed innocents. Your wrongs can be righted if you wish them to be. Your mental scars can be healed and your spirit put to rest, if you will allow it. You are young and have no need to go through life with innocence lost."
"What do you mean, nothing can atone for what the stinking humans did to me, their flesh shall forever be carved by my blade."
"No, nothing can atone for it, but you can be forgiven still," Anubis said and sat up, "Do you wish for your soul to be freed of its burden and your mind and body healed?"
