Dmitri smiled and nodded a bit, "Awful indeed. I am glad to say that the only place I've ever been stuck was in a chest when I was a kitten," he chuckled a bit, "I didn't get along very well with any other children. But I've never been in that bad of a situation."

" i dont even remember being a kit" Ezio sighed his ears drooping " i cant even remimber my own mothers voice" he said

He frowned, "I'm sorry for that," he clapped the blind Mage on the shoulder, "I would share my family with you if I could."

Gwyneira frowned at Ezio, shifting forwards in her chair, nearer to him. "That is un-unfortunate indeed..." she murmured. "I re-remember mine. I was an on-only child- elves do not t-tend to have more than one or tw-two children, so it is no-not that uncommon. My parents, though, th-they were all I needed." Her voice grows warmer and gentler there, almost melodious with her memory.

Ezio just nodded quietly.

"I was an only child as well," he said, "I lived in Northern Eleswyr for only a few years that I can remember and when I was very young, we came here to Skyrim because my father was a member of the Legion. Unfortunately, he died while off fighting when I was about ten... When I was 16, my mother and I contacted one of the tradin caravans so that I could have my right of passage into manhood. Everything went well until we were on our way back. We managed to encounter an Imperial patrol and they agreed to escort us to our home in Falkreath but on our way there, we got attacked by bandits... The soldiers managed to defend our goods but my mother was struck through the head with an arrow," he said sadly, "I do hope that they are happy, wherever it is they are now..."

Though she would have loved to, Gwyneira could not share her past. She could, however, offer her sympathy. "That is... I ap-apologize. That is ter-terrible, that is a terrible experience for a chi-child. I had my parents for... a long time, th-though much of that time was spent in school, rather than with them..." Her voice does hitch, then, perhaps with regret or perhaps with sadness. Or both. "Both are go-gone now, of course. Even elves d-do not live forever, but they... Well, I can't ta-talk any more, I don't want to be too maudlin."

He shrugged, "Well, I became a rather wealthy mercenary under the commission of the legion," he shrugged, "The experiences were terrible, but I've become hard for it and I've experienced things that I wouldn't have, good things. There's almost always a silver lining."

"Hmm, I sup-suppose," Gwyneira conceded with a shrug of her shoulders made less visible by the black cowl thrown over them. "That do-does not change their horror, though, and f-for that, you have my sympathy."

"Many thanks," Dmitri nodded curtly and raised his mug subtly, "I appreciate your sympathy."

"You ne-need not thank me for something that it-it is nigh im-impossible to keep to yourself," Gwyneira replied with a shake of her head, waving her palms before her. "You have mor-more than earned anything I c-could give you."

" i got caryed off by a hawk as a kit.. thats how i became seperated from my family" Ezio said finely saying something. " im lucky when it dropped me i fell in a river."

"Has this become a competition of who had the worst life?" Dmitri chuckled, "Come now, let's enjoy ourselves. The past is gone. Let it teach you, but not change you."

Ezio laughed " guess your right" he said

"If it was a con-contest, I would trump you bo-both. It is n-not a contest, though- that is life and n-no suffering should be seen as greater tha-than any other. It is all sad and all wo-worth being acknowledged." Words of wisdom thus spoken, Gwyneira slipped back into her bitter-sweet nostalgia, silent and staring ahead, not moving but to breathe. Not for the moment, at least.

He raised his mug to the elve's words, "Here here."

Ezio nodded quietly.

The silence may have been somewhat awkward for the others but it suited Gwyneira, and she fell comfortably into it. She did not offer any new topics, at least.

Dmitri felt somewhat comfortable with this silence. It felt more respectful than awkward to him.
