Your character can be either male or female and can take place in either modern day or not. I've been on a bit of a modern fantasy kick but I'm perfectly willing to do a traditional fantasy setting too!
By default, I'll be playing both characters unless you only want to RP with one. Romance is alright with me as well as long as you choose one of them for romancing.

What Is Tenkafubu?
Located in Ishikawa, Japan, Akechi Shrine is one of the most holy Shinto shrines going back to nearly 3000 BC and has been continuously kept by the Akechi Elven Family of Warrior Monks since its inception. Akechi Shrine is one of the only non-human shrines in which all races of Shinto practitioners attempt to make a pilgrimage to. Each generation, on their 20th birthday, each child who wishes to become the next Keeper of Akechi Shrine must make a pilgrimage to the summit of Mt. Haku and pray to the Tengu for 10 days to ask for succession rights. Only one child per generation is selected to be the next Keeper of Akechi Shrine and the highly coveted position has caused in-fighting through the generations. If the child is selected, a Tengu will appear and the two will engage in 10 years of Tenkafubu, or 'conquering the world with pagent' in which the Tengu will rate their strength, mettle, intellect, self-care, attention to detail and purity of heart. This is a Rite of Passage in which the Successor and the Tengu travel the lands to purify them of evil, during which the Tengu will also teach them the Ways of the Keeper. If successful, the Successor returns home to become the next Keeper of Akechi Shrine and the Tengu will return to the Heavens but remains the Successor's Guardian Angel for the rest of their life.We can make a story following this prompt OR we can make up our own unique plot!

I have two characters that could work for this. One mostly benevolent, while the other could be either an antagonist or ally.
Vaels is the more benevolent option given his role in life. Hes a very relaxed, if curt individual
