The table... the idea seemed so daunting. Amongst their own kind, Seren was not especially shy or timid, at least when not being shunned for their irregularities. Here though, amongst such tall and alien beings, nervousness was assured. But at the same time... Seren had experienced enough rejection to at least try and see if they would not be shunned by this crowd. Perhaps this might blossom into a positive social encounter.

So, Seren stood. They held an arm up, seeking guided accompaniment. After all, not only did it serve to bring comfort in case of negativity, but also such a gesture would show the others that Ebony had accepted them. Surely that would reduce the likelihood of being shunned.

Merthyr sighed relieved at being presented with the crown, placing it carefully back on his head.

"My goodness... your kindred do have a talent for finding gold" praised Merthyr ever so happy that disaster had been averted.

"Come, come to table, you shall be my guest of honour for good services rendered, you shall sit by me" invited and insisted Merthyr seeking to repay his kindness and effort somehow

"Of course, my lady, if you care to follow me... Sebastian is a rather refined butler of many talents. Healing, however, isn't one of them" muttered Serena

"I dread to think what would happen with Taff serving hot soup for starters, my goodness... the injury that could cause" winced Serena already picturing the scene in her mind

"Servants quarters are rather awkward though, up a flight of stairs, and to the left of the stair case but we will take it nice and steady, without hurrying about. We wouldn't want you getting injuried too" explained Serena to give Ayah a head's up of what was coming ahead.

"Aye it be a talent we have for certain, Sir." Bowen agreed.

A bushy white brow would be raised, hearing what Prince Merthyr had offered to him. The dwarf Master didn't feel it necessary, but he wasn't about to argue that with the Prince. Bowen would give as much of a bow as possible, with the slight difficulty of his rotundness getting in his way.

"As you wish, Sir." Says before following the Prince.

Taff made sure to help Ryoko and her companions be seated.

The sooner the guests sat, the less chances of accidents by people tripping over each other, right?

Taff had to wait till Merthyr had sat down, of course, before he could start serving the meal, shifting nervous as he saw the prince coming over

Ayah normally would use her staff to see most of the staircase. She simply nodded. “ I understand .” She would be extra careful. She lifts some of her dress as not to trip on it. Then she asked. “ Serena can you tell me what this butlers condition is and how long he has been sick?”

The 2 guys sat on eather side of Ryoko and the treated everybody as if old friends. Ryoko “ um Taff you sure you don’t need help serving food?” She asked. She clear did not want him to get into trouble or cause more problems by spilling something. So she made not of what water was around in case of needing to use her healing powers.

Ebony noticed the move and took the given hand promptly, bringing Seren to the large table and offering an appropriate sitting space.

"So what sort of food do you like eating?" Quizzed Ebony, willing to go the extra mile and fetch something of their liking if it was available at all

Merthyr smiled broadly and looked for lady Morgana who had arrived at last and was ready to come and join him

"My lady" saluted Merthyr



Once they were arm in arm, they escorted master Bowen and sat down at the head table, each of them at either side of the dwarf to give him conversation.

Merthyr waved the hand motioning for Taff to start serving the broth

Serena nodded

"He has fever, complained of stomach ache, has a rather strong unpleasant breath, vomiting as well." reported Serena listing all the symptoms consistent with poisoning

"He was tasting food, a new dish made by a young chef I haven't seen before. He was cooking something for the king.

After tasting the food, Sebastian fell unwell and quickly passed out clutching his waist" reported Serena finally reaching the man's bed

Thankfully, Seren had seen tables before. What they had not done was see their use as a seated banquet space. Nor indeed had they involved themselves in their use to the extent of having before used chairs. The presence of others in the area did help them in working out the logistics, but the size disparity prevented them from being able to comfortably sit at the table without additional furnishings to prop up their height. For now, the option appeared split between standing upon a chair or remaining on the ground. The former seemed to provide more social access, whilst the latter was more natural, given their simple lifestyle.

It was a choice Seren was once again unable to choose between. The easiest option seemed to be to stay on the ground, however, thus for now, they remained near to the chair in a manner that suggested they did intend to join in with the feast, but would rather do so from the floor.

The offer of food was a welcome distraction from the concern over trying to decipher the social mechanics of the gathering. And quietly, Seren spoke a single word in reply. "Fruit."

"I cannot accept your offer. It is forbidden for a guest to do servant's work" apologised Taff

"I should manage just fine, I mean, I serve the Prince his meals every day, these are just more meals, right?" Quizzed Taff looking over as Merthyr finally signalled him to commence table service

Taff happily took the large bowl of boiling broth carefully and made his way to the king, Morgana and Bowen

The container was large and heavy, enough to not see where he was walking and stepped on Morgana's long flowing dress, ripping the silky fabrics and sliding over the flooring to drop and tip now flying bowl of boiling bubbling broth

Seeing how boiling the liquid was, likely to cause serious harm, Taff shouted a barrage of expletives, the boiling broth taking different form at each word that came out Taff's mouth, in his panic transforming the boiling liquid several times.

“ sounds like poisoning. I think I narrowed it down.” She she placed her hand on the butlers head and tried sensing the damage and the kind of poison. “ oh dear. Worse then I thought. But fixable.” She took her staff out of her hair and it grew to it normal size. She set it against the wall and helped the man swallow the drink. She started a spell and muttered a chant. Soon he was glowing. the combination of the potion and ayah chant healed him and removed the poison. She grabbed her staff and chanted a protective charm and very advanced self healing spell.

When she was done her staff became the size of a hair pin and she put it in her hair. “ the self healing charm and protective charm which help him not be affected by poison should held him and last until the party is over.” She told Serena, she then turned to the butler noticing all her work removed the poison and healed him. She waited for him to come to.

OOC Notice: If you choose your character to be splashed by the boiling broth, roll a dice to determine the substance that lands on your character

When some soldier replacements came to watch over the security, Marcas and Jean would move to join in on the dining. The two MacGregor's were grateful for the relief. While they didn't mind assisting, they hadn't had anything to eat after their shift back in their era. So the two were quite famished and happy to be relieved to sit and relax a bit.

Their attention went around to the guests present, seeing that Captain Frostwind had gone off to relax. The Master Dwarf having a special place with the Prince. And others simply enjoying themselves.

However. Jean's attention fell onto the two individuals with Ryoko. She hadn't seen them with Ryoko earlier, so it caught her off guard. Mentally she would shrug, then sit beside her father Marcas.

The Master dwarf would follow the others to the table, following slightly behind the Prince so to show respect. Unfortunately the Master dwarf hadn't heard Taff's panic of spells coming from his mouth...thus the poor dwarf with his vertically challenged height, was hit with a pile of rubbish on his left side.

It took Bowen a moment to register the fact something had happened to him, and he would take notice finally when looking around at himself.

"Alright now, who be the wise arse ta do something like this?" The dwarf questioned.

Lucky for Taff, Master Bowen had a decently long fuse. However. It still didn't help the dwarf's slightly growing annoyance. It was one thing he had the black liquid on his boots, now this whole thing of the rubbish pile.

lucky for Taff she got sugar and she summoned water and Igneel secretly heated the water not enough to burn Ryoko. Causing the sugar to dissolve. She then used her water control to clean up the sugar war from the floor and removed the water from her clothes. The water went into a empty jar. She then got up. “ anybody hurt?” She asked ready to heal or help clean up.

Sebastian felt Ayah's healing touch and soon recovered, raising to his feet quickly, feeling as good as new

"Thank you for your services, milady" thanked Sebastian politely

"If you would allow it, my lady, I shall pick you up and bring you to your seat for the dinner. Service is about to start and lateness and delays won't do" explained Sebastian, picking her in arms to bring her back down to the feast quickly, the music a clear indication that service was expected to start at any time, if she permitted this.

With some luck they would make it back in time, unsuspecting of the disaster that was about to unfold in the following seconds, too late for Sebastian to warn Taff about the dress or avoid the aftermath

As etiquette and politeness demanded, Morgana was about to be served first, when Taff suffered the terrible accident, her eyes growing wide as flames were cast onto her and spilled over her, her clothes, hair and table cloth quickly engulfing in flames.

She was sitting too close to avert it and shrieked in fear at the literal roasting coming her way

The sound of carnage occurring above was an adequate trigger for Seren to pre-emptively act on instinct. A trail of violet light taking their original place, Seren dashed under the table for protection with speed as though they had been fired from a gun. The trail disappeared behind them just as some of the spillage landed where they had just been standing. Ears drooping, Seren stared out at chaos they had just dodged with wide eyes.
