A young boy sat against the wall, orange hair poking out from the blanket he had over his head. He had been sitting there all day and he was freezing cold, his clothes soaked through with water. It was raining hard today, the hardest it had rained in his whole life time. Maybe the weather knew he would die today, maybe the weather didn't want to give the young boy a nice death day.
The boy shivered as a car rolled by and sent mud and water flying at the boy once again, making him even colder. "The world absolutely hates me." He mumbled as more people walked by and stared at him, labeling him not human just because of his appearance.

( I'm going to use this to flesh out my new characters )
Lilly stands by her sisters side, clutching her hand. Although bundled up in a think padded jacket, the icy breeze sliced through her like butter. I must be the coldest girl in the world, the little 12year old thought. And then she noticed the boy. He sat wet and shivering, alone and scared. Blinking her bright blue eyes, she breaks away from her older sister Summer and races towards the boy, her long blond spirals trailing behind her. "Lilly!," Summer cried. "Where are you going?!"

Jason looked up as the young girl came running over to him. "P-please d-don't hurt m-me." He managed to say between shivers. Jason curled himself into a ball, prepared for the worst this cruel world could give him in the form of a little girl and covered his head with his arms, crying a little. ((This is all I can think of, spry it's short and the gramical errors. It is kind of hard to type on a bouncy bus.))
(that's okay)
Lily frowns slightly, balancing onto her tip toes. The mere thought of the boy being afraid of him left her confused and unsure. Opening her mouth, she did what she always did when she was unsure. She began to talk. "Hello, I'm Lilly Lewis. I'm 10. Aren't you cold? I live with my sister Summer.," the girls cheeks turn bright pink with the cold, but she takes a breath. Just as she opens her mouth to say more, a scarred and burned hand clamps onto the girls shoulder with gentle firmness.

Jason was surprised by the kidndness this girl was sowing him, and looked up with a small smile."I'm Jason...... I don't really know how old I am." He said just as the hand clamped down hon her shoulder gently. He knew it was gently because the girl, Lilly, didnt try to run or anything.
An older girl, looking to be about 16 or 17, stand behind the cheerful Lily. Dark black hair goes down to her shoulders, and luminous green eyes stare down at them. "Lilly!," she says, scolding the child. "Don't run off like that! What if you were hurt?" Lilly smiles sweetly, her eyes full of love. "I'm sorry Summer. I was talking to my friend."
Jason stared wide-eyed at the girl who was standing behind Lilly. He heard Lilly say something just then, something that will change his life. "F-friend?" He stuttered, but not from the cold this time. He was genuinely shocked that a girl he had just met called him her friend. Jason pulled the blanket tighter over his head in fear that she wouldn't like him if she saw his light orange-brown ears.
Summer peers down at the boy, her eyes bright. The girls expression was decidedly sweet, despite the scars that marr her throat and wrists. "Hi there..." she whispers. "Why are you hiding those lovely ears of yours?" She smiles, and pulling back her hair, reveals two small horns on her head. "Different doesn't mean bad. It just means you're extra special." Lilly chimes in excitedly. "Yeah! I like different!" The child grins at him.
"E-everyone t-thinks i'm a fr-freak....." Jason said nervously, looking into the older girls kind eyes. "R-really? I-I'm sp-special?" He asked with a small smile, still shivering from the cold. "You guys are nice." He added without thinking. Her horns are pretty....
Summer smiles at the nervous child. "Would you like to join us? We were just heading home for the night." Lilys eyes widen in joy. "Ohh, please come! I have a hug bed! It would be so fun!" Summer smiles, and raises an eyebrow, awating an answer.
"You r-really want me to come with you?" He asked, studdering not from the cold but from excitement. Nobody has ever wanted him before, much less wanted him in their house. ((Sorry about the 1 liner response...... I have to use the restroom and it's all I can think of without imposing.))
Summer nods. "We'd love for you to come with. " Lilly babbles on in the background, so exited that she makes no since.
"T-thanks!" Jason said getting up and removing the top of the blanket from his head. "I-I've never had a family before." He added with a bright smile despite the freezing air and the slight drizzle. He moved beside Summer and slipped his hand into hers and looked into her kind eyes.
Summer smiles at him, and squeezes his hand reassuringly. "Here, you mist be freezing." Releasing his hand, she shrugs out of her jacket and puts it around the boy.
Jason didn't feel the cold now because he was so excited, but when Summer mentioned it he started to r use exactly how cold he had been. With a small shiver he scooted a bit closer to her and looked up again. "Ar-aren't you c-c-c-cold?" He asked, stuttering worse now.
Lilly grins, her dimpled cheeks pink with the cold. "Summer doesn't get cold. Her horns keep her warm. That's why we named her summer."
"W-wow! I w-wish I wasn't c-cold." He said with a small smile. He was freezing to death because of his wet hair and clothes stuck to his body, and his body tempature was normally lower then normal people anyways. His stomach happily reminded him that he hadn't eaten all morning, or last night, by giving a large growl. Suprised by the growl, he looked at he ground sheepishly.
Summer smiles gently. "How about we go get you some dinner, and dry you off at home." Lilly smiles, and nods, semi sleepily. "Lets go get in the car..."
