Damir was practised in both answering questions and not giving away everything. Something he had learnt swiftly since departing from his place of birth. Some mild immersion in the elvish culture during his teen' years had taught him how to artfully use words so then not too much was given away but enough was said to satisfy the asker. "I prefer the cold, but the warmth has its welcome qualities I suppose." Sometimes it took a while to adjust to but, generally speaking, if he rode then he found that he could acclimate a lot easier.

He paused then. "Because there was no business for me there." Simple. The truth was considerably more lengthy, and was not something he wished to reveal to someone who was otherwise a stranger. "There was nothing left for me there, compared to what chances there are in the world. Everyone should travel at least once in their lifetime away from home, to see what they never would otherwise."

Apheris was not quite satisfied with his final answer, mainly because she didn't understand it. How could there be nothing for him at his homeland? In her homeland, she had everything. She never wanted to leave. "Well..that's interesting. Quite interesting indeed." She watched him continue to make their meal, realizing that she was a bit hungry. She said nothing however, and turned her gaze back to the sky. Why had the gods cast her out of her home like this? How could she be the chosen one when she couldn't lead her people? A soft sigh was let out, the woman lost in thought.
