<Why shouldn't I be? Two of my new friends are either hiding or crying.>

<Yeah, but another new friend is trying her best to cheer you up... And to warm up,> she giggled and lightly scratch his back with her big claws.

He sighs despite himself, enjoying the long claws scratching his back.

<Keep that up and it'll work...>

She giggled a little bit more and rubbed her cheek against his neck then rolled onto her belly with her arms around him and did continue to scratch at his back.
<Did you ever just tell her that you weren't interested? I mean, she's young and naive, but she knows what the word no means.>

<I never thought about, just about not saying the wrong thing and getting Rome upset. The plan was such a success...>

<Well, you should have at least told her no. A lot of drama might had been avoided,> she sighed and continued scratching, <But we can't go back in time or anything...> Melody yawned and licked his cheek then rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes but continued idly scratching his back until she fell asleep against him, her right arm around his back and her left arm wrapped around his chest, just under his neck.

How could he have known? It wasn't like he knew a lot about this sort of thing... But he did know it felt nice to have Mel next to him like this. He laid his head down and fell asleep next to her.

When Ignis awoke the next morning, Melody would still be asleep against him and Archur was nowhere to be seen, neither was Rome. The rest of the Pokemon were still sleeping or just talking idly.

He looked around as best he could. Where had they gone? Why did only Rome go, when the others were left behind? He laid his head back down, and tried to go back to sleep.

Melody let out a soft purr and rubbed her cheek against his neck.
Venice moved away from her spot curled up on Anubis' lap and walked towards Ignis, <Am I terrible person?> she asked quietly.

<No, no you aren't. Sometimes we just don't see stuff. If you have to ask, you aren't.>

<And you're not interested in me?> she glanced a bit jealously at Melody.

<I'm sorry, but I'm not. I don't know if I'm interested in anyone yet.> He followed her gaze and sighed. <I don't know about her yet either. I think she's just being nice, but I thought that's what you were doing too, so...>

<I was calling you cute. Even I know that's more than just being nice,> she retorted and looked down, feeling ashamed still, <I... I'm not a good friend...> she said quietly and turned away then dragge herself towards Forli, who welcomed her into a tight embrace.

<Better than you think you are.> He mutters, closing his eyes.

<She's right... Calling someone cute isn't just being nice. Loner or not, you should know that,> came Melody's sweet voice in a tired tone, <You're a good pillow~> she said after a moment of thought and purred happily as she rubbed her cheek against side.
