He looked at his fellow canine and tilted his head to one side.

<Do you think I should be worried, Anubis?>

<Most definitely. She's as persistent as Venice and ten times as sly. She'll get you back and you'll never know its coming,> he warned with a laugh, <I know from experience.>

<What did you do? What did she do?>

<When she had just joined the team, I scared her pretty bad as an introductory prank. She told me she'd get me back and she did. That next night, I woke up hanging upside down from a tree by my ankles, with my feet paws covered in berry juice and all sorts of bug Pokemon eating it off my toes.>

<Bwahaha! That sounds awesome! I mean, as long as it's not mean, why not?> His tailstub started wagging as he thought up new pranks. <Thus is gonna be fun!>

<Maybe awesome for everyone else, not for me. I'm warning you right now: don't encourage her. Things will only get bad for you.>

<We'll see about that. I'm not the type to back down.">

<It's gonna get out of hand pretty quick. All I did was startle her a little bit and I told you what happened.>

<Yup. Should be fun, don'tcha think?>

Anubis looked a bit worried, <Please… Don't let this escalate too much, because it will, and it will not be fun for any of us. You have no idea the ends she will go to to get you back.>

<But I want to. How else can we learn who the better prankster is?>

<All I did was scare her and she tied me up! It took me a whole day to find everyone again too! If you do something worse than scare her, she might almost kill you! Please don't. This isn't going to be a prank war after a while and it will just get ugly... It won't be fun for any of us because someone will get hurt... Probably you,> the Lucario cautioned him with a pleading look.

He stares back for a few moments, the lays down with his head on his paws and sighs.

<Fine.>

<Thank you. You'll be happier for it,> Anubis sighed gratefully.

<Maybe, but where's the fun in that?>

<The fun is not getting hurt and you'll be happy. It's good to be happy even if you're not supposedly having fun, because it would stop being fun pretty quick. You'd probably wind up tied to a rock under a lake. That's especially not good for you."

<I don't think she'd go that far...> He says slowly. Stupid lakes.

<All I did was scare her! If you do something worse she's gonna kill you... On accident, but it will happen.>

<The more you talk about the more I feel like changing my mind.> The young canine grumbles.

<Then I'd best shut up. Just do NOT egg her on,> he gave the dark type a final cryptic warming before returning to his book.
