<It's not gonna happen...> he looked down sadly, <I... I talked to her about how many times I tried showing her how much I cared about her and loved her... She said she felt bad for not noticing... But we're not going to be together...> a couple tears came to his eyes, <So... I guess I'd better move on...>

<I'm sorry. Maybe you should take some time off, just relax a little?> Wanting to comfort his friend, Ignis walks over and gives him a light headbutt to the shoulder. <Might be just what you need.>

He nodded and gave Grace another glance before smiling weakly at Ignis. <O-okay... Let's go find that arena...>

<You do know once you evolve you can't go back, right?> He asks slowly.

He nodded, <I've already evolved once,> he said, <I want to... There's no point in lying to myself about Venice... I'll just get this over with.>

<If you're sure, then let's go.> He said after a moment. <I'll battle as hard as I can.>

It took some time, but eventually they found the arena and Rome took his position at one end, "I'm ready," he called.

He doesn't wait past that to let loose an Ember across the arena, bracing himself for better aim.

The quilava's back and head lit up then his body ignited, completely countering the ember attack. Smirked a little bit and then used flame wheel and he curled into a ball, his whole body engulfed in flames as he went straight for Ignis, following him like a guided rocket.

He'd have to be quick. He acted like he was going to jump, but spun to the side and used Smog, hoping for more poisoning than concealment.

Romeo's fire stopped as he inhaled the poisonous fumes and coughed loudly then started towards Ignis again, using flamethrower this time.

He had to keep moving. If Rome was strong enough to evolve, and hadn't, that meant he was way above Ignis' ability to handle head on. He launched his Ember at the Flamethrower and started running.

The ember weakened Rome's flamethrower but didn't come close to stopping it. Rome launched attack after attack before the poison really started getting to him and he stumbled pretty badly and coughed violently. He let out a weak growl then used dig and disappeared underground.

<Uh oh...> This wasn't good, and he had a feeling it was going to hurt too. He made a mad dash for the hole Rome made, hoping he'd get there before the Quilava attacked.

The quilava came up just before he got to the hole, pounding into Ignis's belly with his head. He was panting pretty heavily when the dust settled and he whimpered as the poison hurt him again.

He flew head over heels above the hole and lands hard on his side, yelping/coughing his pain. He struggled to his feet after the solid hit, but just ended up falling again. Stupid Ground moves...

He faced Ignis again but it was clear he was struggling.

<Where.. did you learn Dig?> He pants, trying to catch his breath.

<Archur,> he forced a smile and he tried lighting up his back. It flared up for a second then only became white smoke and he coughed then stumbled again.

<Heh.. Can't believe Smog got you. Never poisoned someone before, honestly...>
