Sinia
Bandits. Dozens of them. The Jarl of Riften had issued a bounty for them. I followed up on it and found a few more than I had anticipated. They were dotted along the way to their leader, clearly intent on protecting them. It was a small camp, yet strategically placed among the various rocks, so that it offered cover from long ranged attacks. I saw why the Jarl would issue a bounty instead of having her guards take care of it. You have to get in close. The small one tries to slice my armor open with his dagger. Not effective, and devoid of any sense. All he accomplishes from that is a sword through the face.
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

It was strikingly cliche as Dmitri appeared on a high rock, wearing full dwarven armor with a modified helmet so that the face was that of a khajiit.
The sun glistened at his back and he was astride a large, black and white war horse. In his hand was an ebony bow, at his hip an ebony mace and on his back he had a quiver of ebony arrows, an ebony great sword and the magical, dwarven shield: Spellbreaker.
Dmitri pulled an arrow from the quiver and took aim with it at a stronger bandit. The arrow hit its mark, striking in the outlaw's left eye and making him crumble. He reared his horse up and slid his bow over his shoulder then galloped down the narrow path, mace now in hand and he swung, obliterating the unprotected head of a female bandit.

The horse riding in came as a bit of a shock, but I kept fighting. The only other option, of course, was to let myself get murdered. The last thing I would ever do. One of the bandits, who seemed to have a considerable amount of skill, swung at me with a war hammer. I flip my blade around so that it lays flat and block the attack with a moderate amount of effort. He staggers back, allowing me to take my sword and knock him over with it, then proceeding to finish him off by stabbing him in the chest. Only two more remained in this small group, then I would have to move on to the next, just a few sets of ancient and crumbled stairs away. The leader resided with these people.

Dmitri leaped off his horse, and using he momentum slammed the front of the mace into one of them remaining bandit's face's, completely flattening his skull and he rolled with it, despite the heaviy armor he was wearing and he smiled at Sinia, though she couldn't see under his helmet, "Greetings, Comrade!" he said in a friendly manner, "Do you want to take this last one? Or should I?"

Whoever this person was, at least he's not trying to kill me. Upon hearing his remark, the final bandit dropped her weapon with wide eyes and ran. Trying to react quickly I let go of my sword and unsheathed my bow, delivering a quick shot to the back of her chest. Upon seeing her fall I put my bow back and picked up my sword. Probably wasn't the best idea to drop it in the first place but there wasn't much time to act in. "Hello," I greet him, then adding, "Didn't really get the time to make a choice... There's more up ahead." I gesture towards the tent in the distance. "Probably a few more unskilled fighters, and then their leader. There's a bounty on him. I don't want it, but if you do then by all means take it. I just don't like seeing them harassing the townspeople."
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

"Ah, you're here for that too?" he asked. His voice sounded echoey and a bit hollow from the helmet covering his head and he pulled it off, revealing his handsome, feline features. His glossy white fur seemed to shine almost as much as his armor.
Dmitri put his helmet under his left arm then held his right hand out to shake, "My name is Dmitri."

"Yes." He takes off his helmet, which made things a little less weird. It was a bit odd to try and talk to an expressionless piece of metal. Even though I knew there was a person under there yet it still proved difficult to fully comprehend. I shake his hand with a slight smile. "I'm Sinia." Most of the time, people were not this friendly with me. It was a nice change. His first impression went completely against the stereotype of the Khajiits, which I was glad to see. Yes, a lot of them were thieves, and a lot of them were very unfriendly but many of them were also good people. I've met a few of them. I'm not racist, as most Nords are.

The cat's smile didn't waver at all and he had an unusual spark in his eyes, one that was rather hard to spot these days: true compassion, decency and kindness. "Would you like to work together on this and split the pay?" he offered her with a grin, "Whoever kills the leader gets an extra 50 Septims."

Even though I didn't need the money, I agreed with a small smile. "Deal." Not quite sure why I was even trusting this man. There was just something about him that made it hard not to I guess. And maybe it helps that I don't like being mean to people that haven't given me a reason to be that way... Doesn't matter. I start for the hill, at a normal pace to begin with, but as I get closer I begin to slow down in order to prevent my armor from clanking too much. Thought was put into the construction of the steel, though some things you just can't avoid. I grabbed by bow again, planning on taking one of them out by surprise to prevent us from getting overwhelmed by bandits. There weren't all that many left but it's better to make sure. Killing people doesn't bother me - but murdering them does. There is a difference. Killing is done with a purpose, previous events and experiences have provoked you, with good reason; whereas murdering is just senseless butchering and not much more.

Dmitri walked forwards at an even pace, though he didn't make a sound despite the weight of his armor. After a few seconds, it became evident it was from some soft, padded cloth expertly placed in any joints that would clank while moving. Dmitri had don the himself, so the stitching wasn't the best but it did its job perfectly.
The khajiit drew his bow and took aim at another one of the bandits after putting his helmet back on and he released. The power sent the instantly dead bandit skittering a few feet and he looked over at Sinia to make sure she was ready before taking the long, black sword from his back and rushing up the hill. He wielded the weapon expertly, twisting and slashing and blocking like a dancer, making it all one fluid movement.

I had shot one of the bandits just after Dmitiri did, my bow was a lot less powerfull but still killed the man it had hit. The minute we were up the hill, I pulled my sword from its sheath and began to fight. Most of these bandits had one-handed weapons. Meaning my two-handed one could overpower theirs if it came down to that. My motions were nowhere near fluid, nor graceful, but they were extremely effective. I don't care how I do it. Long as I get it done quickly and don't make them suffer too much. I counter an attack, knocking the man on his back by uppercutting at the right time. A quick stab was all that was needed to end his life. The next one proved to be a bit more difficult, but not something I'd be unable to handle.

After clearing enough space for himself, Dmitri put away his sword and grabbed a small sphere out of a satchel on his waist and threw it on the ground. It sat silently do a few seconds and then the sound of gears began to whir from within, loud and mechanical. The sphere expanded and metal panels slid out until it was a much larger sphere, which then expanded even more by unfolding, revealing that it was a dwarven sphere. The automaton rolled forwards, swinging its sword and firing off crossbow bolts at the bandits.

The Dwarven Sphere was unexpected - normally those things were hostile. How Dmitri managed to tame one is beyond me. I hack at the spot between the bandit's neck and shoulder, severing the major veins that lie there. Pulling the blade loose from his now lifeless body, I attempt to dodge an attack and succeed for the most part. The only damage done is a very small cut on my hand and I won't even notice that later. Always had tons of cuts and scratches all over my hands. The Sphere was a peculiar addition to the battle; they were often only seen in the depths of Dwemer ruins. But it did its job so it was definitely not a bad thing.

Finally, there was only one bandit standing, the chief, who was dressed in full Nordic Armor. The chiseled wolf and bear heads engraved into the chest and shoulder plates caught the light in an almost romantic way. But it did not faze the bronze-armored khajiit, who ran at the chief with his sword back in his hands.
The chief held a sword and shield that matched his armor and blocked the powerful swing with his shield, momentarily stunning Dmitri as the momentum vibrated his arms when it went back through him.

The last bandit was the Chief. I always hated killing them. Tricky. As Dmitri gets stunned, I bash the Bandit's shield with the hilt of my sword as hard as I can, causing him to stumble a bit. It might give Dmitri an opening to attack. At the very least it would give him enough time to recover without the Bandit killing him. It was two against one, and even on my own it wasn't a problem to eliminate one of these guys, so there was no question in my mind that he would go down in the end. And the thought that the people of Riften would no longer be bothered by these people helped me out.

A short blade was suddenly through the bandit's exposed neck and the chief collapsed, exposing the dwarven sphere right behind him, it's sword bloodied.
"Did I fight well, master?" it asked with a mechanical, yet somehow hopeful voice.
"Yes, you fought very well, my friend," he said and pushed a button on it's forehead, which caused it to fold up into it's normal size, then somehow condensed back into a sphere the size of a tennis ball, like it had been when Dmitri originally took it out. He picked it up and put it back into the pouch, which was revealed now to have two others in it that were identical.
"Well," that was fun," Dmitri said as he removed his helmet and smiled warmly at Sinia, "Let's go get paid, eh? And we'll just split the money evenly, since neither of us killed the chief. Sneaky spheres, these ones."

The Dwarves were so intelligent - able to create a moving mechanism that not only fought its enemies, but could communicate as well and retract into a size twenty times less than the original. I nod in agreement, slightly confused. "How in the name of Oblivion did you get that thing to fight for you and not against you?" Never seen anything like it before. Every Sphere I've seen has made a most obvious attempt to impale me. Then again, I've never met a Khajiit who donned full Dwarven armor either. With the threat of the bandits gone, I now feel safe enough to sheath my sword. Though normally it took me a long time to trust someone, Dmitri seemed alright.
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

The cat laughed and pounded his chest proudly, "The dwarves didn't make these ones... Well, not entirely," he grinned, "I took the bodies of the ones I destroyed and rebuilt them in my home, and then with the help of some members of the college and a lot of my own tinkering, I got them to speak and to fight for me and even to retract into tiny balls like that. That's just a capacity enchantment though. That one that spoke is the first personality prototype I've made for them though. I only used petty soul gems for my experiments though, since they're cheap, and so it's very needy, always wanting a compliment from me," he explained, "I'm a bit of a dwemer enthusiast, in case you couldn't tell."

"Yes, I noticed." I thought that the Dwemer were interesting, but not to the point where I would mess with expired automatons and alter them to not kill everyting it sees. Couldn't pull it off anyways. Best spell I can pull off is a weak flame. Only thing I can heal is a small gash. Anything more and I'll probably end up amputating the victim unintentionally... "You did a good job on it," I say to him, looking at the rocky formation that Riften lay concealed behind. "No doubt about that." The chief was gone, a good thing for the citizens. They have enough trouble with the Thieves' Guild.

Dmitri nodded gratefully, "You never know until you try. You should have seen the first few that made. Either they were more aggressive than usual or they literally exploded after I put the soul gem in. It's another advantage of living in Markarth: no fires."
