Tressa smiled happily and hugged her father tightly. "I'm so glad you're here." She looked at the woman that Dmitri introduced and held out her hand. "It's nice to meet you." She smiled, then turned back to her father as he asked what she was going to do. "Well...I'm not sure yet. I'm still figuring that part out." At the offer to go with them, she smiled brightly. "I'd love to!" It'd been so long since she was actually able to spend time with her father.
(Thanks!)
(Thanks!)
He hugged her back and then looked at Sinia, "This is okay with you, yes?" he asked her and lightly tussled Tressa's hair, "We could have many adventures."
((Mhm ^^))
"You as well," I say with a smile as she greets me. Tressa seems a very energetic type of person. It takes almost no thought to respond to the idea of her coming with us, "I haven't a reason to argue." There is no cause to object - I don't see why there would be.

"Ah! Very good!" Dmitri seemed very excited and he held Tressa closer.
Tressa smiled happily as Sinia agreed for her to come along. "Great! I'll have to go get changed and get my things though, dad. Do you want to come along, or do you want to wait? It won't take long either way." She hugged her father happily. It had been a while since she'd seen him.
"I'll come with you," Dmitri smiled. He walked with her into the Hall of Elements, the circular tower where all the students slept.
"So... My little girl isn't so little," he smiled and sat down on a chair in her room.

Tressa walked with them to her room and she smiled at her father. "Yeah, sorry dad." She giggled softly and packed some things up. She stepped behind the screen to get changed into more travel-appropriate clothes. "It'll be like old times, huh dad? Going around together running into all sorts of trouble." She laughed softly.
"Tressa, I'd like to ask you something..." he began, "How would you feel about having a little sister?" he asked and thought for a second before clearing it up, "I don't mean between me and Sinia. I think she's married," he mused, "Would you like more context for this?"
I lean up against the stone wall. Those lights in the middle of all the rooms - for lack of a better word - are weird, yet fascinating at the same time. Oh yeah, that Khajiit girl. I remember her. Hasn't really been that long, don't see why I would forget. "No, definitely not between us, and no, I'm not married to that idiot who answered the door..." Everyone says that. I see why - and don't really blame them for it, but it is true in no way.
(Sorry just a heads up that this week is getting busy for me now. Christmas stuff and then my brother's getting married)
Tressa looked over to her father as he spoke of asking her about something. She stopped what she was doing when he told her, and turned fully to face him. "Yeah, context would be good, dad." Certainly her first thought had been that he and Sinia had a thing going, but once that was denied, she focused her attention back fully on her father. "If not with her, then who? You never told me you were interested in anyone."

"Um... Well, not anyone actually. I'm not with anyone," he said, a hint of sadness in his voice, "But... We ran into something similar to what happened to you with those cultists... You remember... The cannibals... Anyways, Sinia and I found a group of people who took children and teens and forced them to fight agains hungry wolves with only a knife... We saved all the children who were alive... And one of them, a khajiit girl... Well, I grew somewhat attached to her... She's 12 or 13, I think. Would you be open to my adopting her? And her becoming your little sister?" he asked, "If you say no, I won't. I only ask because this is very important for both of us."
(Congrats to him you have fun ^^)

(Thanks! We will )
Tressa tensed up when he mentioned the cannibals. Her hands clenched into fists to keep from shaking. Those were very bad memories that she still struggled with. Tressa shoved her hands in her pockets and took in a deep breath, listening to him talk about the Khajiit girl. "It's your choice, dad. I mean, I'm gonna be out traveling and stuff, so.." She shrugged. "It's not up to me." She wouldn't give him an out-right answer. Mainly because she was scared. A khajiit, like him. This girl would be more accepted by others as his daughter than she was. She was obviously adopted. This khajiit could at least pretend she was his blood daughter. But with the racial likeness....Tressa was afraid that this girl might wiggle her way into Dmitri's heart and push her out.
Obviously she wasn't going to speak any of her thoughts or feelings, though. She was a teenager. That just wasn't something they did. "It's your choice, dad. I'm not the one who'll be taking care of her and stuff."

He had thought of all these things as well but knew they wouldn't happen. No one could ever replace Tressa, and most everyone who knew Dmitri knew he never had a wife and so never a child of his own either.
He stood up and hugged the girl tight, "You know how much I love you, right?" he asked quietly and kissed her forehead, "If you're thinking it, no one could ever actually replace you... Nothing could push my Tressa away from me. But when you left for this college... I realized how much I missed taking care of you... How much I missed being with you... So unless you want to stay with me until you're really old enough to go out on your own... I need an answer. I won't if you don't want me to."

Tressa hugged him back and sighed. "Dad, it's not my decision! Okay? You aren't going to get an answer from me, because you need to answer this one. Your kid. Your choice. Okay?" She sighed and hugged him again before letting go. "I love you, dad." She stepped back. "Can we like, get ready to go now?"
She paused for a moment and looked at her father. "If you do adopt her, you have to settle down. Stay in one place, and stay somewhere safe. Alright? You can't move around and take her into dangerous stuff."

"But it is!" he protested, "You are a part of this family, and this would be an important decision that you should have a say in! You are my kid too, Tressa... You will always be my first child and nothing will ever come between us. Even if you're not little anymore, you'll still always be my little girl. I want you to be happy... And obviously... Obviously this isn't something that you want to happen. So I won't. She'll stay at the orphanage."
"DAD!" Finally, Tressa shouted. She grabbed her things. "You really don't know when to just shut up! Adopt her! I can't freaking tell you not to, I've been there! I've BEEN in an orphanage, dad, and I don't want anybody to go through that! I can't tell you not to help out someone like you helped me! So just stop leaving the stupid question to me! Just adopt her and be happy with your special little khajiit!" She headed for the door. "I'm gonna go wait outside."
Dmitri's ears went flat and he looked down, feeling disappointed, more in himself than in her. He smiled weakly at Sinia when Tressa walked out then stood.
"I... I shouldn't have asked..." he said quietly, "I shouldn't have even thought about it..." he slowly walked out behind Tressa. Her yelling at him was probably the worst thing he could really even imagine for their relationship. He felt sick now and he didn't want to do anything except for make peace with Tressa and figure out why she was so upset about this, but he knew he couldn't talk to her, that she would just snap again.
"Our horses are in front of the inn... You can ride with me or Sinia," he said quietly to Tressa then glanced at his Nord friend, "If you're okay with that."

This was, admittedly, not how Tressa saw her special graduation day going. She went out to the horses, trying to get her emotions under control while she waited for them. She took in a deep breath and let it out, trying to get everything under control. "Dad." She glanced at him, then Sinia. "Can I talk to you like, privately?" She did feel bad for exploding at her father like that right in front of his friend. It'd be better to continue the discussion in private.
"Of course," he shot Sinia a sheepish smile, "We'll just go into my room in the inn..." he said, sort of to both of them. He patted his horse's flank and she stamped a hoof. Dmitri held the door open for Sinia and Tressa, and once they were both inside, he led Tressa into his room. It was small: one bed, a chest, a wardrobe, a bedside table and a chair.
"You sit on the bed," he said as he took the wooden chair and sat on it.

((I'm here - though I am busy and not in a good mood (meaning this post is going to suck). Congrats to your brother, I hope he's happy.))
I keep quiet the rest of the time, though all I wanted to do was calm Tressa down. She seemed so angry - and I understood why. Maybe not fully, but I did have an idea. Once inside the inn, I went into a different room and slipped my armor back on over my clothes. After that I sat down at one of the tables. Eirid, the inkeeper's daughter, asked me a bunch of questions about the college and then left.
