"I'll be honest. What is it?" I look over at Dmitri, wondering what it could possibly be that has made him question that.
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

"Well... About a month after I adopted Tressa, and she was 12 at the time, I had to go out... I had to go with the guard to fight a group of forsworn... I had been training her to fight and use magic for a little while by then... Anyways, I left... And when I came back... She was gone. I had an armor maniquin that I enchanted to defend my home. It was destroyed when I got back and there was
Blood on the floor... And a ring of Namira..." he sighed, "I knew here they hid out because I helped their leader clear a temple of draugr... I didn't know of course, but she told me afterwards. I left only because she paid me. Anyways... Tressa... Got taken by cannibals... And I wasn't there to protect her. I went there and I killed everyone there... They were eating a boy who was only a bit older and there was a girl who had been spit roasted. She was still alive. I saved Tressa and the girl... But when we got back home... She wouldn't forgive me... No matter how much I begged."

Cannibals. She got taken by cannibals. That's a really bad way to die. "Yes and no... Yes because she got captured by those people, but also no because there was some sort of protection in place. Leaving her home on her own wasn't so bad, the fact that she could very easily have been the main course is. She should be grateful that you were able to get her out of there - though it's also understandable that she's upset. One way or the other, she should at least be a little forgiving. No one can be perfect."
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

"That doesn't answer my question," he said, "Am I a bad father for leaving my daughter, who I only adopted a month before, alone while I went to help the guards. You know what the first thing she said to me was? 'You weren't there.' those were her exact words... Am I a bad father for putting my hold before my family?"
Sinia (played by Kat2000) Topic Starter

That makes it more specific and easier to answer. "...No, it doesn't. If the Forsworn had not been taken care of, then there could have been the possibility of them attacking Markarth - I know they've been trying to regain strength. How long were you gone?"
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

"But the guards could have taken care of it too, without me. And even if the guards couldn't, I'd still be home, protecting Tressa from anyone who came. I heard that the only reason they came for her was because I left."

"You cannot be held responsible for the actions of others. How could it have possibly been known to you that a bunch of maniacs were going to come break into your home and take your family away? You helped your city and saved your daughter, that makes you a better person than most. Very few are willing to take on the Forsworn - even fewer have the nerve to face cannibalistic murderers." He seems very bent on the notion that what he did was wrong. And it is, in a sense - though it was a good thing at the same time. More so than bad... at least, it is in my opinion.
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

He just grunted and the continued riding along. "I'm excited to see her again... I've missed her so much..."

"I know what you mean." Maybe not in terms of kids, but with other people. I really wish they were still in Skyrim.
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

It was a couple of hours but they finally rode into the remains of Winterhold. Dmitri tied up his horse at the inn then walked in and sat down.

I walked behind Dmitri and got two mugs of mead, one for each of us. I them both down on the table and then sat in one of the chairs. "Your daughter's graduation is a little bit later today, right?"
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

He nodded and gratefully accepted the mead, "Yes."
Sinia (played by Kat2000) Topic Starter

"Alright." I take a drink of the mead and listen to the silence provided by the Frozen Hearth. Winterhold is all but dead.
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

Dmitri sighed and leaned back in his chair then reached into his bag and pulled out a nice tunic that was green and blue with gold lace trim and a pair of dark green pants.
"I'm going to get cleaned up and ready to go," he said after finishing his mead and setting it on the table. He stood and walked into his room then closed the door.

I merely nod and finish off the mead. All I would be able to do is remove my armor - I do have clothes on suitable for something of a more formal nature, albeit not of the best quality. I have no great affinity for formal occasions and in turn, am never prepared for them. After returning the two mugs to the bartender, I walk in a room with an open door and remove the armor. The way it was constructed, it's easy to take off and doesn't take long.

When he came back out, the fur on his face was damp because he had just washed it and he was wearing the nicer clothes.
"It will be so nice..." he said again.
Sinia (played by Kat2000) Topic Starter

"You're excited, I'm sure." My appearance would not be a problem, no doubt about that.

((Having terrible wb it'll be a while fore it goes away))

He smiled at Sinia and walled out with her then up the short distance to the high, precarious bridge leading to the college. He walked up the bridge with an air of pride around him, remembering when he first led a somewhat scared Tressa across it for the first time.
Dmitri led the way into the *name of room where eye of Magnus was kept* and looked around. Several benches had been set up and there were several students of varying ages and races standing there as the Archmage stepped out from his quarters.
Dmitri quickly took a seat and smiled proudly when he spotted Tressa.
The many orbs of light that usually illuminated the massive room were much brighter than usual and had a cheery, yellowish glow like sunlight, rather than the cold white it usually was and atronachs of all varieties danced above them in the sky.
The ceremony itself wasn't too long. Each teacher have a quick speech about the students following their respective schools of magic and then the Archmage himself presented each student with robes of the expert level, which had enchantments that would greatly increase the student's potential in their respective school.
When it was all over, Dmitri rushed towards Tressa and scooped her into a hug and kissed her forehead, "I'n so proud of you!" he exclaimed joyously.
Tressa smiled brightly when she saw her father come into the room, though she did note his plus-one. Curious! But that was her father, of course. She waited patiently during the ceremony and received her robe right pride, and as soon as it was over she rushed to Dmitri and hugged him tightly. "Dad!!" She smiled brightly at him and kissed his cheek. "I'm so glad you could make it! I was really worried that you weren't going to be able to get here in time."
Her father had the habit of always being somewhere and doing something. It came with his job, and just who he was in general. Tressa stepped back from her father and smiled at the woman with him. "Dad, who's your friend?"
(Short disclaimer you probably already knew; Tressa's profile has her set for around 12, but in this RP she's more around 17.)
Dmitri Yashklov (played by EonRising)

He reluctantly let her back away from him and he stood tall, "Of course I'd make it! This is one of the most important events in your life!" he smiled at her and then gestured toward his Nord companion, "This is Sinia. We met while taking out a group of bandits and we agreed to travel together for some time," he smiled at her.
"So... What... What are you going to do now?" he asked her, "You are free to live your life how you see fit, as long as you don't get yourself killed..." he chuckled nervously and hugged her again, "You could travel with us for a while, if You'd like."
