Crow Du' Evard (played by Miss)

Just before the incident.
The S.S. Eugene was traveling through the waters of the Great River Nabassa. A full, three storied ship, the S.S Eugene was a slick stream-liner, with a whole floor devoted to the excellent cuisine and a wondrous dining experience. The outer floor holds a wake-boarding wave machine, and the inner floor hosts the finest of living quarters.

The sun was setting over the ocean's calm surface, the sky becoming a bright orange, with sun-lit clouds hovering above the water's surface.

Ahlliannah (played anonymously)

It was lucky that she had gotten the ticket for the cruise, the massive ship was beautiful. Winning the ticket from a game show seemed like a dream to her, but one she always had as a child. Her white skirt waving in the brisk wind of the ocean air.
Alex Hunter (played by MadRatBird)

Alex decided 'he' needed to travel. A vacation was much needed and a cruise was something he'd yet to really experience. He stood on the deck of the massive ship, arms resting on the railings and gaze set to the distant horizon. Although his hair was short, it was fluffy and danced like black fire in the aggressive ocean winds. Although at the peak of relaxation, his face was set stern, his softer features offsetting that a little bit. It helped him look not quite severe.

His outfit appeared quite plain. White sleeveless and over-sized top tucked into equally over-sized dark brown britches, belt holding them to his waist. Beneath the pants were a pair of plain black boots. An arm band or two clutched his biceps, while both gloved hands were adorned with leather beaded bracelets.

He seemed lost in his own world, pleased yet stern, although stern wasn't quite accurate.
Tony had never been on a ship before. He'd never wanted to be on a ship, ever. Why would anyone want to board a giant floaty toy and then go bobbing about on deep waters? He didn't get it.

And yet here he was, standing on the deck of huge ship, watching a sunset over the sea. That, at least, was nice. The colors were beautiful in the sky and on the water. He supposed that was an upside to this trip. He'd have to thank Laura for buying his ticket and sending him on this thing. She'd only done it to get him out of her apartment of course, but if he ignored that, it was a pretty nice gesture.

He ran a hand through his hair, which was getting a bit shaggier than he'd like, and wondered if he would suffer from sea sickness at all during the trip. So far he'd been ok, considering the slight motions of the ship he felt beneath his feet--

...and there it was. The first surge of nausea. Great, he just had to think about it, didn't he?

He put a hand to his stomach, grimacing. He really didn't want to throw up all over his single decent button up shirt and his favorite black jeans, but his stomach didn't seem to care about that at all.

Calm down, he thought, breathing deep, Don't puke here, in front of all these people, you idiot.

He pressed his lips together and focused on the setting sun.
Akari (played by Drax)

Akari was just striding along the ship being the guard he had to keep everything in order, it was a plain job but hey it paid so he took it. He spotted a man who didn't look 100% so he grabs a bucket and walked over to him and put his hand on his shoulder and handed him the bucket"Hey buddy you dont look to good" Akari was wearing his average leather jacket and a hat to hide his ears he was also wearing on his feet large black lace up hiking boots.
"Nah, man, I'm fine. I just--"

His stomach lurched. Dammit! This was what he'd been afraid of. Being sick all over the ship. And maybe some people, too, if they weren't careful. He considered heading back to his room, where he could lie on the bed and try to ignore the slow rocking of the ship, or at least situating himself next to the toilet where he could puke all he wanted. But he doubted he'd be able to walk in a straight line, let alone make it all the way to his room. Even the most minute movements of the ship would make him dizzy.

He swallowed and took the bucket, giving the man a grateful, shaky smile. "Th-thanks. Guess I just gotta get used to being on a ship. This is my first time, y'know."

He gripped the rim of the bucket tightly, hoping to God he wouldn't have to use it.
Ahlliannah (played anonymously)

"Oh, hello." Ahlliannah stated as she looked at the man with the bucket. "You don't look too good," she started rummaging through her purse till she found a bottle, "here, take these. They should help with you getting sick, it'll take a little while though." Ahlliannah looked out at the sunset, "Beautiful." she muttered under her breath.
Alex Hunter (played by MadRatBird)

Alex looked over to the man nearby, watching as he struggled with what his stomach held. A smirk appeared on his face before her turned back to look at the sea. "If only people were that helpful everywhere else," he commented to himself. His voice fit his appearance: small, crackly, androgynous. Not low nor high.

He straightened up a little bit before catching what Ahlliannah muttered. "Yeah. Almost too beautiful. If there were any icebergs floating nearby I'd say this trip was a deathtrap with how smoothly it's going," he replied, whether she wanted one or not. Alex relaxed a little before smiling and adding, "But there aren't any, so I'll just have to accept the fact that this trip will remain amazing."

Whoops foreshadowing. Sorta.
"My hero," Tony said. He smiled gratefully at the woman and, cradling the bucket under one arm, popped the top off the bottle and shook a couple of pills into his open hand. He wasn't entirely sure if he'd be able to keep anything down with the way his stomach was churning--even pills that were meant to get rid of his nausea. But it was worth a shot. Anything to get rid of that nasty feeling.

Still uncertain, and a bit put out that he'd have to swallow them dry, Tony hesitated before tossing the pills into his mouth. He massaged his throat as the pills went down, and aimed an exasperated glance at the boy by the railing.

"Dude," he said, grimacing at the guy's last comment. "Don't jinx it. Please." He paused and hugged the bucket to his chest, willing the pills to work quickly. "I mean, it's not like I'm superstitious or anything, but jinxing is bad business..."

He trailed off, realizing that he probably sounded like an idiot, but rambling was actually taking his mind off the sea sickness. Unfortunately, now he was worried about hitting an ice berg, or running into some other horrible disaster.

...which, in turn, made him wonder if he was any good at swimming.

((ooc: Ah, what's a good drama without a little foreshadowing?))

Throughout the ship, intercoms sat in the corners of each main area, and several were perched above the walkways. They were white in color, with a mesh of black in the center. Over the intercom, a crackling sound, then the captain of the ship says, “This is your captain speaking. We are approaching our first destination.” A pause. “We are entering stronger winds, and, it is recommended for all passengers above the first floor to return to their rooms quickly as possible.”

Near the helm of the ship.

The captain, in his stained, yet white outfit, placed the mic-like object down upon the countertop, where several radars and equipment hummed slightly. In the captain’s left hand, a smoldering pistol. Smoke billowed softly into the air, as the captain moved around the bodies of bloodied crewmates, faces of shock and of pain frozen on their faces. Their white outfits were moist and painted a deep red, their hats strewn across the room.

The captain’s right hand reaches outward and flicks the room’s light off, a slumped form of the first mate nearby. His back was to the wall, his head tilted forward, and his arms slack at his side, palms facing upward. A hole had punctured his chest and shirt, the white fabric wetted with his blood.

The captain’s form slowly turns around and he walks back to the wheel of the ship, his right hand placing itself upon the mahogany; that smoothened wood. The left hand’s fingers loosened their grip on the pistol, the metal clacking, twice, off of the floor. His head lifts up, his strained gaze peering out from his perch, watching the approach of the island.
Very faintly, the passengers that were silent could hear, “Life, you monster…Damn you, Bakir.”
"This is your captain speaking. We are approaching our first destination. We are entering stronger winds, and, it is recommended for all passengers above the first floor to return to their rooms quickly as possible.”

If Tony hadn't been pale before, he was now. He gulped and handed the bottle back to the woman. "Aw man, the last thing I need now is stronger winds. If you all will excuse me, I'm just gonna go and settle in near a nice toilet. Thanks again for the help."

He turned carefully, taking the bucket with him, but paused when the captain's voice sounded over the intercom once more, faint and odd. Tony frowned and looked back at the others. "What was that? Seafarer's lingo or something?"
Alex Hunter (played by MadRatBird)

Alex frowned upon listening to the announcement. That frown didn't last too long though before he threw his arms up and faced Tony, smirking playfully. "Welp! Looks like I jinxed it!" A small laugh came from him before walking over to the man and giving his back a small friendly pat. "You'll be okay. Go lay down, try to sleep or something. Maybe when you wake up we'll be past all the winds and back in steady water."

Alex then caught the tail end of what was left, brows furrowing just a bit. "Huh. I haven't the wildest idea."
Tony snorted and muttered "Yeah, thanks," after Alex's first comment, then nodded wearily and ran a hand through his hair. This trip was beginning to take little, consecutive turns for the worst. He just hoped it didn't go any further.

Picking at the underside of his bucket, he looked at everyone in turn. "Is anyone else heading back inside? I could walk you to your room, if, y'know, if you want."

It would wouldn't hurt to have a buddy on the trek back to the rooms, just in case his dizziness got the best of him and toppled him over. Of course, it would be embarrassing, but at least he might have someone to keep him steady on his feet.

The S.S. Eugene hits and stutters its movement, causing all the passengers to stumble forward. Some landed upon their hands and knees, while others grabbed the railing, blinking and looking about wildly. The ship continued moving forward, but, slower, and it was not until a man came running from the front of the ship, waving his arms about in a panic, “She’s sinkin’, the ship’s sinkin’!”

Everyone stops what they are doing and looks over the railing, brightly colored coral easily spotted between the water and ship’s wake. A lady with a wide brimmed hat and a white dress looked about, her hand cupping the side of her mouth, “We’re sinking! Where are the lifeboats on this ship?!” The other passengers are now pushing their way through the entire side so of the ship, the walkways becoming very crowded, very quickly.
Alex Hunter (played by MadRatBird)

Alex nodded. "Yeah, it's probably for the best. I don't want to get blown overboard by any awful winds," he joked. "But seriously, man, don't push yourself. Go curl up by a toilet for a while. C'mon, I'll help y-" As Alex reached out to offer Tony a pat on the back (and probably a small nudge so he could get the guy to his room, the ship jerked. Alex lost his footing and fell, sliding a bit away with the force of the hit, but otherwise he was alright.

Without any time to ask what that was, a man decided to answer that question with some panicked screaming.

Now Alex really did feel like he jinxed them. They were sinking! Immediately his attention went toward any individual in need of help, and figured Tony was one due to him feeling so ill. Depending on what happened to the man, Alex would either help him up or god knows what else.
With a startled yelp, Tony stumbled and fell forward, knees hitting hard. The bucket slipped from his arms and went sliding across the deck, disappearing in the throng of fallen passengers. Tony cursed, pursed his lips against a new wave of nausea, and tried to steady himself, hands pressed flat against the floor.

Then the panicked man started yelling, and people began to surge to the side of the sip, and Tony felt an overwhelming sense of dread. He looked around at the people running and falling further into panic and thought, This can't be happening.

But it was. Damn. Damn. Some perfect vacation this was turning out to be.

Taking a deep breath, he rose onto unsteady legs and locked eyes with the person closest to him--the young man who had been willing to accompany him back to the rooms.

"I can't believe it," he said faintly, moving closer. "I can't believe this is happening." This time he ran both hands through his hair as he looked over at the crowd near the lifeboats. "Oh man, what do we do?"
Alex Hunter (played by MadRatBird)

Alex's breath hitched for a moment. It took him a bit, but he finally realized just how awful things were about to get. He was fairly optimistic usually, so the concept of death eluded him up until Tony began to panic.

His heart beat hard in his chest, placing a hand on the other man's arm and shaking it a little bit. Well, more like a nudge. "Please calm down - you need to think. Come on - follow me. We'll find a lifeboat. Or a life jacket or something." Anything..., Alex added in thought.

Without giving Tony much time to respond, he'd begin walking toward the crowd of people struggling to find a lifeboat. It's funny how one is made to believe that the struggle of having not enough lifeboats would only be present in movies. Right now, Alex was frightened about that possibility. And with the amount of people screaming and rushing for the lifeboats, it was really too soon to tell if they were ever going to get on one. People were even jumping overboard and pushing others in panic!

The whole thing both frightened him and made him hate humankind for being such a selfish race.

The S.S. Eugene’s passengers crowded around the two lifeboats available, the glass windows making the other side of the ship easily seen. Men, women, and children were crowded and pushing each other to get to either of the boats. The boats were already full, and many of the passengers were yelling at each other, some daring to place their boots on the side of the railing, until others grabbed at their waistlines, pulling them back.

“What are you doing?! You can’t swim back, it’s too far!”

“I can’t just stay here and drown!”

“Get a hold of yourself, there’s got to be more lifeboats around here!”

“I just looked around the ship, there’s only two!”

A few passengers were looking ahead in almost disbelief, their heads turning back to the group as they lowered the right side’s life boat, “There’s an island ahead! The ship’s going to make it!”
The remaining passengers, some fixing their children inside life jackets and reassuring them, looked towards the island. The left side’s life boat was being lowered into the water and the ship’s sinking form nears the island’s beachside.
Tony followed as best he could, avoiding people that sped by. He had to stop himself from reaching forward and grabbing the other man's shirt to keep from being separated. He also had to struggle to stay in control, to keep from panicking and turning into another crazed passenger.

No more lifeboats. Oh God, there're no more life boats--

Someone's shouts interrupted his despairing thoughts. He looked ahead, hope swelling.

"Dude!" He grabbed the man's arm and pointed, grinning. "The island! We might actually make it out of this alive!"
Alex Hunter (played by MadRatBird)

((Sorry this took so lon to reply to!))

Alex heard the news. No more life boats? He felt his heart sink and panic begin to well up. "Oh God," she muttered, rushing closer to the boats to see them filled already. There really was no more room. At least Tony was easy to keep track of, considering his desperation to cling to Alex (even if not literally).

When his arm was grabbed, Alex jumped and let out a small noise of surprise, then looked toward the place where he pointed. "An island!" he repeated, practically giggling. His voice hit nearly an octave higher! But then his face fell grim. "I can't--" he paused, then looked toward the water, struggling to maintain balance as the boat sank. "I can't swim!"

Aw. Well shoot.
