I know that a lot of people here like to do PM RPs, and I'm one of them. One of my recurring issues here and on other sites, like dA, is that there is no way to search through your notes/PMs or what have you, and this can be particularly if you are commissioning something from someone (or someone is commissioning you) or if you're RPing with someone via PM who has to leaver for a while but when they get back, they want to pick it up again, except by this time, your inbox is full and you have no idea where it is if you haven't set up folders.
This comes to my point that there should be some sort of search function for the PMs, or a way to "select all from... *user or character name*" so you can just move all PMs in your inbox to an appropriate folder or have a setting so that when you get a PM, it will appear in your inbox until you read it, and then afterwards, it will send that message to it's specific folder. If not that, then the function to have PMs immediately sent from the other user to your folder.

The PM system will be overhauled in the future, allowing you to make 'threads' of a specific conversation and adding a search function to it, among other things!

Right now I believe groups have priority, but the overhaul of the PM system has been mentioned a lot by Kim, so I think you'll be pleased by the upcoming improvements.

I have this same issue. As you might imagine, I have a lot of RPR-related conversations, and nearly all of them occur through PM here, and hunting down a relevant PM with the number I get every day is just... it is appalling. If it's more than a week old I may as well curl up and cry before going in search of it.

So yeah, I am highly motivated for a whole mountain of reasons, some theoretical based on how I know others use PMs and some very personal, to overhaul this ancient system.

Groups do have priority right now. I swore a solemn oath to move groups completely from alpha through beta and into a fully launched stage before the end of the year. Then I spent the first third of the year REALLY ILL, the second third of the year working my tuckus off to try and catch up financially with all the time off I'd had to take for the first third, and now here I am in the last third locked in a cinematic roof-top race against time during a thunderstorm with groups.

My priorities after that's over are roughly PMs, Forums and friend management upgrades.
