"Oh?" she turned to him, a curious look in her eyes, "I've never really been anywhere but here," she sighed wistfully, "What's it like?"
"Oh, it's... Peaceful sometimes. There, we don't really worry about food or shelter that much. I mean, some of us do, but I didn't. Instead, we worry about... Shoes, and who will win the next sporting event, and stuff like that." He was struggling, that was obvious. "Sometimes something happens that really stirs us up, but most of the time it's peaceful." He shrugged. "Not a lot, happens."
"Shoes?" she cocked her head to the side, "What are those? It sounds like a nice enough place though."
"Shoes are, uh, things you put your feet to protect them. A lot of the girls from where I'm from are obsessed with them." Logan nodded her head. "It really is." He looked at Sasha. "What about this place? Is it okay?"
"Who would you put anything on your feet?" she asked, "Then you can't feel where your feet are on the ground and you don't know what's under you," she stopped walking and lifted her front paw to examine her paw pads then lightly licked them, causing herself to giggle.
She started walking forwards again and shrugged, "Most of the older Pokemon are nice. The younger ones are... Mean with their words..." she whimpered a little, "But only sometimes..."

"Well, that's something that our places share. Same here." Logan looked at Sasha, then up the path. "But things will be different now. We're a team now, so they should look at you different now." He looked at her and smiled. He hoped so, at least.
She blushed and looked away shyly, "Thank you... For accepting me do fast..."
Logan smiled and looked ahead again. "How long till we get to this Rescuers Guild?"
"Not long now," she assured him and looked around, "Do you have any family?"
"Yeah. My dad was a... Lawyer. He helped people who were accused of crimes to clear their names. My mom stays home and raised me and was raising my kid sister last I saw them. You got any family?" Logan said.
"They sound nice," she smiled then nodded in answer to his question, "My mama was a zoroark. She was so pretty," she said wistfully, "She raised me for a while, until the mystery dungeons started happening... She got caught in one when it formed and no one ever found her..." she looked down sadly, though she didn't look like she was gonna cry, "My papa is a blaziken, the biggest and strongest one ever!" she said with a certain proudness in her voice that only a daughter could have for her father, "He went out to help start other Rescue guilds and he stuck my with my grandma. She's my mama's mama and she's an absol."
It should have become clear by now that Sasha wasn't an adult, probably only about 14 in Pokemon years, 16 at the oldest.

"They sound like very brave people." Logan said. Dang, that's a whole bunch of rare pokemon in her history. "How old are you? You sound really young" Not that he himself was much older, but still...
"My mama wa just in a bad place at a bad time..." she shook her head sadly, "I miss her..." she whimpered a little bit then shrugged indifferently, "I'm 14," she said with a little smile, "You?"
"I'm 15. In a few weeks, I'll be 16." He laughed. "I was going to get a really cool game, too..." No need to tell her that it was a pokemon game, that would lead to a whole new set of questions.
"What do you mean?" she asked, an even more confused look on her face, "Get a game? How do you get something like tag or hide'n'seek?"
"Oh, uh, we had these... Packages that we would open, and inside it would have something needed to play the game. The game is different for each thing you need to play. Like... You need a board and pieces to play checkers, which is one of the games, but you need different pieces to play chess." He didn't even want to get into video games, that would take forever. "We called those games, although we did play tag and hide'n'seek too."
"I've heard of checkers," she said thoughtfully, "The pokemon at the library say it was a game the humans used to play before they went extinct," she said as if she were proud she knew this.
"Extinct!?!" He said it before he could stop himself. "Oh, uh... Sorry, I just thought that there were a few out there still." Logan quickly started trying to think of ways to figure out what happened.
His sudden cry made Sasha jump back in fright.
"N-no... They've been extinct for like, a bajillion years," she said a bit timidly, "They killed themselves off with they're weepons... How did you not know that?"

Logan scratched the back of his head. "I just... Heard stories about them living about fifty or so years ago. Guess that's all they were, though..." He acted disappointed. "They're just stuff my grandpa talked a lot about."
