After a quick inspection of the meats, he selected one he liked and put it on a wooden disc. He selected another cooked piece at random and handed it to the fleshling on another wooden platter. At first none of the dragons noticed the human. Then, one by one, their gazes all fell upon her, some with expressions of hatred, some with amusement, and some with curiosity. By this time there were around five or six other dragons around the fire, each one fixed on the race they had not encountered before.

Rather than converse with them, Ixen quietly walked back towards his hut, entered through the frame, and sat in a small room on his bed, there was shelving, a table, and two chairs that rested on the earthen floor.

Jonquil did her best to ignore the stares of the other dragons, and followed silently behind Ixen. When they arrived at his hut, she looked around for a moment, hesitated, then took a seat on one of the chairs.

At first she was hesitant about the meat. She knew she would have to eat with her hands, but she wasn't quite sure how to go about it. She would have to tear the meat from the piece with her dreadfully dull teeth, and that was a bit embarrassing in front of the dragon. Oh well...

Ixen, despite the unusual company, wasted no time devouring his meat and quite literally tore into it. Moments later he was done, stood up, and did a bit of busy work as he waited for his human companion to be done. His wooden disk was left on his bed. Ixen didn't know how long until the elders would make a decision, and he was finding himself very impatient.
