Avalon followed them until they got to Luna. She smiled at the little girl hugging the massive dragging just like she had once done to the gryphon who was basically her mother growing up. "No I'll get Amon over here. I need to check and see if he's still fine." Avalon cleared her throat and let out a loud roar. After it she held her head with her hands and groaned at the lightheadedness. She shook her head, whipping a few stray strands of hair around to clear her head.

"Every time," she chuckled sitting on the ground. A couple minutes later the great eagle swept through the sky and tackled her to the ground making her laugh. "Amon!" she shouted hugging his neck and kissing his forehead. He let out a sound indicating he was happy to see her as well. She got back up on her feet and looked towards Ace. "Amon, this is Ace. He basically saved my life," she said. He looked at her skeptically thinking that it was strange that she had even needed saving. "Arrows,' she sighed. He nodded his head and stuck out a claw resting it on Ace's shoulder.

"Um that's his way of saying hi," she laughed awkwardly.

Ace felt the gryphons paw on his shoulder it was liking holding up a rock, this was the first time that he had been this close to a gryphon with all the stories he thought if he ever got this close it would be picking him out of its teeth. "Its nice to meet you Amon but I wish you were like this when you pushed me onto the floor earlier though since your Avas family then I guess I can forgive you"

Ace looks back at Sophie as she was sitting on top of Luna "I guess somebody's ready to go we should get back to the cave, your coming right?" he said running over to Luna and jumping on her back behind Sophie.

"Yea I think we are good," Avalon said hopping onto Amon's bare back. "And also Amon is too tame to attack people he was just in a rush to get out," Avalon replied with a laugh. Her gryphon looked back at her with a huff when she mentioned him being tame. She patted his neck and he rose with a flap of his wings. They followed Ace and Sophie without any tricks or spins.

"Ace I forgot to mention that Amon is the more serious and less fun brother," she said rolling her eyes. At that Amon tucked his wings in and spun making Avalon squeal at the suddenness. "Alright alright I'll take it back geez," she replied to his antic.

Luna took off into the air showing off with Sophie on her back Ace knew that when ever Sophie was on Lunas back she would do an extra swirl in the air to get Sophie to smile. Ace saw as Ava and Amon flew near them he couldn't believe how much acted like brother and sister even thought the weren't even the same species, realizing that made him understand how she could relate with him and Sophie.
Luna lands at the cave with Amon by her Ace jumps off Luna then catches Sophie as she slid down her back "Alright go take my tent out my bag and let Luna start a fire" Ace said putting her on the ground she pulled her pad and ink out her bag and wrote "I want to play more with Luna" Sophie held up the pad. "No, we have a big day tomorrow you can play with her before we leave".

Sophie made a sour face when kissing Luna on the nose then she ran into the cave going through Aces bag "So how about we relax after the day that we've had" Ace said to Ava "Plus I gotta tell you what the plan is for Sophie so you have to relax with us". Ace motioned for Luna to light the fire and with a nostril she lit it with ease.

Avalon came and sat next to the fire with him sighing heavily. Amon came and sat behind Avalon letting her lean back on him. She ran her hands over his feathers and closed her eyes. "I haven't had a relaxing moment like this for a long time. Mind calling Dusk for me bro?" At that Amon screeched into the night sky. She laid her head back again and sighed contently.

"So where exactly is this crystal that we have to get or do you have no idea?" she asked opening one eye. She rested her arms behind her neck and listened to the gryphon's soft breathing.

Ace sat by the fire across Ava and Amon watching Sophie put up the tent behind having no problem at all turning his head back to the fire he looks Ava "Its about 20 miles from here its in a fortress an abandon one so I've been told" Ace said poking the fire "There use to be a powerful Queen that ruled there a very long time ago she was a seer like Sophie so no one opposed her she knew when every attack would come and when and when not to attack other kingdoms all along wearing a green jewel necklace said to control her power but with no one to oppose her she went mad with power the soldiers saw this and killed her"

Sophie ran over to Ava snuggling up with her and Amon wanting to hear the rest of the story making Ace smile "Well some people say why didn't she foresee this in a vision no one knows, me I think she didn't foresee this because she trusted them why use your powers on the people you trust....Anyway I hear that her body or bones now is still on the throne in the fortress untouched with the few dead soldiers still guarding her body....That jewel is still around her neck waiting for us to take it"

Avalon pulled Sophie close to her and began braiding her hair. "Ah I see," she replied. Avalon thought about it and there seemed to be something else. "Are you saying it's a straight shot all the way to the fortress or are their other things guarding it?" She tied off the braid and looked to Ace for his answer. Flapping wings behind her pulled her mind elsewhere and she stood up to get Dusk.

Dusk smiled happily seeing Amon and walked over to them both. Avalon kissed his forehead and pet the side of his face affectionately. He came back and sniffed at Amon's face and licked his cheek sticking his feathers up in strange directions. Amon narrowed his eyes at him at screeched softly to scold Dusk for licking him. The dragon smiled and sat down next to Amon letting Avalon sit back down with Sophie.

Ace couldn't help but stare at Ava and her brothers as they kid around with each other as if they weren't all different species, it was really strange to see something like this but Ace smiles as the dragon and gryphon kid around with each other. Once they sit back down Ace snaps out of glaring and gets back to the plan "Well these guys can get us there half way after they drop us off we'll have to go through the Black Forest the forest with trees so tall it blocks out the sun with beasts so fierce the gods shun them" Ace said smiling at Sophie as she smiled back "But the most important part of this plan is that Sophie comes first and we protect her at all cost....So you still up to this?"

She smiled and let Dusk's head rest over Amon's back and her shoulder. "Of course I am," she said. Her mind wandered when he mentioned fierce beasts and such. The thought of a real adventure was already filling her with excitement. Then she looked at Sophie and the smiled faltered slightly. If they failed who knows what could happen to her. This whole mission would be to help the girl and not to have fun for herself. They were going to risk their lives to protect her. "So do we leave in the morning?" she asked.

"Yes we do" Ace said smiling at her and then looking over at Sophie "You already know what I'm going to say so lets go hit the hey", Sophie frowns then grabs her pad writing on it "Goodnight Sophie Thank you for my hair" she then patted Amon and Dusk on the head before running over to Ace to give him a hug "Get a good night sleep baby".

Sophie walks into the tent laying on the floor going to sleep immediately. "I want to thank you again for the hundredth time" Ace laughed "We really couldn't have done this without you"

"Goodnight Soph," she replied to her message. After she ran back to the tent Avalon turned her attention back to Ace. "You don't need to keep thanking me. I told you, I'm helping you guys for Sophie and her health," she replied. She avoided eye contact with him and stared into the fire giving her eyes a mystical look.

She stood up and went behind her brothers to change back into the clothes that Dusk had brought her in a bag. Avalon came back around wearing somewhat tight sweatpants and a black tank top. "No need to wear a restricting dress I a situation like this right?" she said.

Ace watches as Ava comes out back in her usual clothes ready for battle but he couldn't get that blue dress out of his mind "Yea, your right that dress will only get in the way but it sure did look nice on you" he said smirking. Standing up Ace takes off the pouches he had dropping them in the tent with Sophie then removing his sword from his waist setting it on the cave wall "I don't know how much heat these to can generate but hears a blanket" he said throwing it over to Ava then grabbing one for himself.

Tristen sits by his sword bring the blanket over himself peaking in on Sophie making sure she was OK.

Avalon caught the blanket and looked at him strangely. She wasn't used to compliments and she wasn't sure if she liked them or not. "Thanks." Avalon looked at her brothers to see that they had both already fallen asleep. Dusk was curled up in a ball behind Amon and the gryphon was using his songs as blankets for them both. She smiled to herself and laid a little ways away from them and then settled down. "I'm too excited for tomorrow. I don't think I'm going to sleep much," she whispered to Ace trying not to wake anyone up.

Ace smirked "Yea I know what you mean" he whispered "I'm not excited about probably dying tomorrow but if everything goes the way its suppose then in less then a week me and Sophie can have a normal life one without me not having to worry about here every minute of the day". That was the goal that Ace wanted one that everyone else had and now that he thought about it "What about you? I mean don't you have a goal that you and your brothers want to get to?Something that you always wanted to have?" he said whispering.

Avalon looked up to the stars and rested her arms behind her head. "I haven't really thought of it. I guess...we mostly just try to stay alive and make money in whatever way possible," she explained. She bit her lip in thought and stared back at Ace. "I've always wanted to know who my real family was...even if they didn't want me." She smiled sadly thinking that she was probably abandoned since the gryphon had found her and raised her. Her mind kept wondering if she would've grown up differently if she had been raised by her real family. If she had any human brothers or sisters or if she was important in any way.

Ace thought about how he did the same thing "Yea I was just like that running the streets as couple of years back stealing everything and anything I could get money for until Luna found him and I moved onto bigger and better things like the last mission we were on" he said smiling watching Ava as she looked up at the stars seeing there was much more to her.

Ace was going to close his eyes to rest up for tomorrow when "One last question before I hit the hey, you focus so much on the family that you never knew, why haven't you thought of making one yourself?"

She tilted her head to the sky and closed her eyes. "I've never thought of it...I never have had anyone important in my life besides my brothers," she sighed. Even talking to Ace was a big step up from what she was used to. The only human contact she had had all of her life was when she went to the market in cities for supplies. She made no friends on the way but only ran into trouble. That was what had made her sever the connections she had with other people all together. "Goodnight I guess," she said awkwardly.

Ace could tell that he hit a nerve with his question he laid back on the wall gripping his sword "Goodnight Ava" he said slowly falling asleep.

The next day Ace opened his eyes to see Sophie playing with Luna at the entrance of the cave he stood up stretching his arms as Sophie waved to say good mourning. Walking over there Sophie hugs Ace while Luna nudged him to say her good mourning "You guys hungry? Feel ling catching some fish?" he said as both waved there heads up and down "Alright lets go to the river lets not wake up Ava and her brothers".

The gryphon screeched in panic and tried to tea away at the ropes holding her down. Avalon punched Amon trying to get him to let her save the gryphon. Amon held a steady claw around her midsection to keep her there. He pulled her by the collar of her shirt with his beak as she sobbed. Just before she turned her head, young Avalon saw a hunter stab into the gryphon with a sword.

"Mom!" Avalon screamed out frantically waking from her dream. She was breathing heavily when she shot up into a sitting position. She held her forehead and quietly let the tears slip out of her eyes. Amon rested his head in her lap sadly trying to comfort her. Avalon saw Ace and Sophoe staring at her and furiously wiped her tears away. "I'm sorry.."

As Ace, Sophie, and Luna watch Ava wipes the tears from her eyes Ace stops gazing "Luna take Sophie down to the river we'll meet you guys down there" he said as Luna nudged Sophie walking with her. Ace walks into the cave backing things up looking Avas way every now and then trying to figure out if he should say anything or not, taking a deep breath "Everyone has bad dreams you shouldn't be embarrass and wipe your tears away" he said before seeing his old bow and arrows "Awww man I forgot all about this, guess we'll be needing this"

Ace grabs his bag and Sophie then walks over to Ava "So you ready to grab some breakfest and start our little adventure" he said with his hand out waiting for her to grab it.
