Vladimir had been here before. He'd been in that same room, that same room that many people had been in before. He could recite the positions of the furniture like he could the back of his hand. Every chip in the paint, every dent in the wall. He knew them all, and remembered it clearly. And he even remembered the reasons he was there.
But today, he was here for a different reason. Behind his own lines, not too far away from a major fortress, and a major city. In fact, it was a city closest to the Capital Stronghold. They had pulled a dumb move, and left the left flank mostly unguarded. Now the enemy had made a hard spearhead there with some heavy walkers and a Super Heavy tank battalion.
Vladimir had been assigned, along with the Death Korps Army Group C, SS 3rd Army, and the Guardsmen Army Group A and B. Over 3 million soldiers had been stationed at the gates of hell, facing over 10 million troops forcing them to retreat and retreat until they hit the Stronghold of Chicago, the last barrier against The Worms capital.
Now, here he was, seeking guidance from the Oracle, waiting for her help. Along with him was a friend and soldier, Andrea. Her, 10,000 Korpsmen, 100 SS paratroopers, and 20,000 Guardsmen (Including tanks and walkers) were left. The enemy? Still in the millions, though the exact number was unknown.
He turned to ask her what she thought, and looked around. Old place. But would this really work? "What do you think she'll say? I'm not sure, but I'm hoping it will be a victory,"

Andrea looked up from where she leaned on the wall. She had been assigned to Vladimir's company to assist in any special missions he might need completed. Now, in this obscure situation, they turned to the oracle for assistance. "I have no idea, whatever it is, just make sure you make it a victory," she said.
"Of course, Andrea. Its my duty to make it a victory, but I'm going to feel a bit better about it if it was foretold to be a complete victory beforehand," Vladimir said, and put his hands in his trench coat pockets, thinking. He'd been awake for three days straight, not even napping. But if it bothered or affected him, he didn't show it. He was good at that. A strong man, with a hardened personality. If something hurt him, not a single person knew. So they never asked.
"Vladimir, I'll see you now," The Oracle said, and opened the door to the room. He would remember this day clearly for the rest of his life.
"Wish me luck!"

Andrea shook her head. "You don't need it," she told him as he left to see the oracle. She meant what she said. Andrea was used to fighting with the lower end of the resistance, they were normally the ones who needed help, not to mention they are the ones she joined. These men were not like that. They were organized militia men, remnants of the people the tyrant has taken over, who were taking a stand against the imperial's rapidly growing empire.
Andrea found an uncomfortable chair to place herself in as she waited. After a bit she decided leaning against the wall was a much more comfortable option. With her rifle hanging behind her, held by its sling, Andrea waited, holding her breath for the news to come.

"So, you want to know if you'll win, or lose, hmm?" The Oracle asked, and grabbed a cigarette, lighting it with a match she struck on the wall. "We'll see what the answer is when you get there. I'd love to tell you good news, I really would. My thoughts? A victory not worth having,"
"What do you mean?" Vladimir asked, looking at her with some confusion. "No victory is unworthy,"
"You'll loose even more than what you lost. Them? They'll loose much more than you. But one will win, and that one will have a victory unworthy of the lives lost,"
And then Vladimir was given something... Something... interesting. He didn't want to think about it. But it was inevitable. What he saw, was this.
Hundreds of shells rained down from above, just pelting the ground. Planes flew through the air, dropping their payloads. Dead were on the ground, and in the midst of it all, two people, holding a flag up high. A flag he didn't know, or couldn't tell what it was.
Vlad walked out, and thought for a second about that. He didn't know what it meant, really. "I know what I have to do. Andrea, lets go."

((My apologies for not replying! I lost the rp in my feed))
Andrea started watching a fly while Vladimir was talking to the oracle. It landed on the wall opposite of her and rubbed its hands together for whatever evil plot was on its tiny fly mind. Andrea was wondering if she would be fast enough to get it if she snuck up on it.
When Vlad exited her attention broke from the fly and she stood up and listned to him. She nodded, "You're the boss, I trust you know how to win." She swung her rifle into a comfortable position and followed him.

"Just cus I'm the boss, doesn't mean I'm a god," Vladimir replied, and walked out towards the car that they drove there. It was a jeep, with a .50 gunner on the back. Perfect defense against infantry, air, and any walkers they might meet. Unless it was a massive walker. Then they were royally screwed.
"But it does mean that I have the ability to call for the Angel of Death," And he closed his door, started the jeep, and began driving off with her in the passengers seat.
"But it does mean that I have the ability to call for the Angel of Death," And he closed his door, started the jeep, and began driving off with her in the passengers seat.
Andrea shot him a look, walking beside him. "And the angle of death is...?" She was not completely familiar with this part of the resistance yet. They're better equipment and higher technology sometimes went over her head.
"The Angel of Death is what I call the Death Korps First Artillery Brigade. Very accurate, very good. That, and the dive bombers. Always loved dive bombers," Vladimir explained, looking a little amused. He knew she wasn't really prepared for this kind of stuff.
"When this battle is over, spread some wealth my way!" Teased Andrea. She fought in lower tech areas, which was most of her original country. She had rarely seen a plane, which makes sense with them being sort of new. With a smirk at her joke she leaned the seat back and put her feat up on the front of the dash. She gave a yawn and looked over to him. "How long is the drive?"
"Oh sure! I'll do a lend lease program. I'm sure you guys'd absolutely love a few squads!" He said, and cracked his neck. Those planes were fun to fly. Even more fun when they were loaded. And if she wanted some? Sure. She'd be able to get some. "Oh, maybe a couple of hours. Dunno. If ya wanna sleep, go ahead."
"You read my mind," Andrea chirped. She settled in to the seat, crossed her arms, and went to sleep.
They got there at dark, just as the air raids had begun. Huge airships, bombers, and fighters flew across the sky, dropping death upon the stronghold below. They tried their best, firing round after round into the sky. Some thought it was going to be hopeless, but Vladimir knew better.
He jumped out of the jeep even before he'd stopped it, running straight to the captain in charge of the AA. Those airships? Not a problem. They'd be disposed of easily. The planes? Harder, but none the less they'd do it.
"Load every cannon pointing at the airships with APi rounds, and tell them to aim for the hydrogen cells! Fire off a few rockets before they do!"

As the jeep rolled to stop Andrea swung herself out of the passenger's seat. Her rifle made as much noise as her feet did as it lightly scuffed the seat. The girl rolled up her white sleeves as she walked around to the back, pulling off a long, narrow crate. Inside she found ammo for her outlandish gun. She figured that if she fought with a different gun than most, she better have any special ammo for it she needed.
Loading the first of three magazines filled with armor piercing rounds and placing the other two on her belt, along with several normal magazines, she dragged the crate to a secure location. It held not only ammo, but a second, less modified, rifle, medical and survival kits, and some shiny and sharp toys.
Andrea was able to spot Vladimir easily and hurried over to him. "Tell me what needs to die and I'll make it so."

"Well, how far, and how fast can your rifle fire? We've got more men than we can handle, now." Vladimir said, pointing to the little group that assembled. Two airships touched down, and in them was tanks and men. Over a dozen Panzers had been transported by air, and 500 men. More were coming.
The girl made a face and looked from her rifle to Vladimir to the incoming men. "Fast, and medium range. There's no way I can take down a tank with just my rifle, even with armor piercing rounds, but if I can get the right angles on them I can try and damage any external equipment, like their pipes. If I can do that I may be able to slow the progress of the tanks, or at least dull the effects of a few."
"Aim for the guns and fuel. Use APi rounds, that way, the fuel tanks will explode. Be very careful. I'll have covering fire for you when you need it. By the way, do you have an Anti Tank rifle? We have a 30x180mm gun if you need it." Vladimir said, and stared out into the battlefield. He could tell the tanks were coming closer.
"I'm on it." Without exchanging guns she sprinted away. She found a narrow, alternate pathway that was kept out of the enemy's eyes. She followed it until she was behind the tanks, crouched down, aimed, and a bullet exploded into the rock in front of her. Andrea ducked as several more exploded into and over her cover, forcing her back on the path.
The tanks were getting closer and she needed to be there to try and at least damage them, but she had no way of getting a shot off when she was under constant fire. To make matters worse, she could not signal for help when she could not be seen by her own guys.

"Andrea, I hope to God you can see me, and get down..." Vladimir whispered, and fired a red flare into the air. If Andrea saw it, she should be able to duck. And fast. Because as soon as it got into his climax of the climb, Vladimir threw his right hand forward and pointed, shouting "FIRE!"
At least a dozen 20mm cannons and .50 caliber machine guns erupted into the soldiers below, ricocheting off the tanks and splattering blood and gore onto their clean hulls. In a way, Vlad enjoyed it. Unless the enemy fired at him.

Andrea fought a loosing battle for a small portion of ground. There was no way she could get back to that cover and not get shot doing so, or even when she got there with that angle of gun fire. She was about to make a last ditch break for it when the flare went up. Oh crap, she thought and hit the dirt. No sooner had she done so than the flare reached its peak altitude and chaos shredded the terrain around her.
When it stopped she waited a moment before getting up. Then, realizing her opportunity, she slung the rifle over her back, pulled out her pistol, and dashed back onto the field. It took only a moment for the shots to start up again. Someone seemed bent on killing this girl as bullets exploded at her heels. She brought the pistol up and shot a man somewhere in front of her, ducked under another's shot, came up while he was reloading, brought her knee into him, then her hand into his jaw. He staggered back and Andrea grabbed him by his shirt, throwing him into the trail of gunfire that stalked her. She kept running and finally jumped over a boulder and into cover.
Once there was a break in the shots she popped out and shot the gunner. She could now get her shots off at the tanks. Behind her she could visibly see Vladimir and signaled to him that she was in a good position.
