Alright, so I just got a used Wacom Graphite CTE-630 drawing tablet. I hooked it up to my USB and it downloaded something but when I came back it was gone. There is a little glowing yellow light on it but I have no idea what to do. I have an XP laptop with Windows 8 and 7...so HELP!!!!

I'm really sorry to hear you're having some problems with your tablet! I'm not really sure what's going on, so I'm going to break this down into a few notes/questions to help us understand what the problem is and how we can help you fix it. :)

1. What problem are you having specifically? What is your tablet (not) doing? Does it work? Does it not work? We'll need some more info so we'll be helping you with the right issue!

2. Windows XP, 7 and 8 are different operating systems. Your laptop can only be using one at a time, not all three at once. Can you check this guide and follow the steps to determine what OS (operating system) you're using? We might need this info if you're still having trouble after this.

3. Did you download and install the latest Graphire 4 driver? This driver is directly from the Wacom site and it supports Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8, so you can download and install this no matter what OS you're using. It should fix almost any common problems you're having!

I downloaded the Graphire driver and nothing seems to have happened. I have the tablet plugged into my laptop and a little orange light is glowing. My laptop is Windows 8 and it doesn't seem to be dead since, the light is glowing.

Goodness, I'm horrible with technology. This was given to me and it was used by I think a professional artist. Nothing is cracked it just won't turn on. There are no buttons so I can't really try those so...I'm not sure where to go from here.

Oh, so I just notice when I tap the screen the small light turns green so it must have to with the screen then...

Just double-checking, you downloaded and also installed the driver too, right? You need to run it, install it and then restart your computer to make sure it will work.

What exactly is the problem you're having? I'm still a little confused. Does the cursor not move? Does the cursor move but you can't click anything?

When the light on the tablet is on, it means it's connected and turned on. You should be able to hover the tablet pen about half an inch or less above the tablet and see the cursor move around when you move the pen. When you press the pen down it's the same as clicking your mouse button so you should be able to select something. Double press to open something.

Oh, I see! It seems I thought you manually draw on the tablet. I'm sorry :') This is my first time even holding a tablet so this is quite new to me.

One more question, Is there a certain program you use a tablet to draw on? Like, do I need to download a certain drawing program?

I'm glad you got it figured out!

Your tablet is basically just another mouse in a different shape. It will work in any program (you can use it to browse the internet with for example, which I high recommend if it still feels weird to use. Regular browsing helps to get a feeling for the tablet).

All you have to do is figure out which drawing program you prefer and use that. :) It should work everywhere though.
