Rain poured down on the city, flooding the street as a catagory 2 hurricane hit. A young man stood at the corner of a unmarked street With his shirt off and his guitar slung across his shoulder. Despite the dangerous situation, he wasn't worried one bit, just ushered the remaining people on the streets or in cars into the designated shelter located beside him. "Hurry up people!! The eye is approaching!!" He screamed into the earsplitting winds.

Hotaru stands still, the rain drenching her small frame. She could barely see past anyone. Too many people, so much noise... It all made her nervous. So did the rain...

The boy watched as the last of the people were filling in and paused, seeing a girl standing across the street from him. He looked down the road where he could see the wall of the hurricane getting steadily closer to them and he made a very stupid choice. "Why are you just standing there?" He tried to scream, his voice hoarse from the yelling. Instead he bolted across the street, the worst of the hurricane bearing down on him, and grabbed the girl around her waist. He ran into the nearest small alley and tucked the girl into a corner, his body over hers to protect her. "Why the hell were you just standing there?" He whispered into her ear as the wall of he hurricane came down right on them, throwing a dumpster right into their corner and barely missing the boy.

Hotaru shivers violently, the wind and rain pelts on her. "I didn't know where to go... The rain, people, noise... Its all making me nervous!" She reply's, her voice barely even a whisper. "Who are you...?"

"You should've just followed everyone else to a safe place." He said, tightening his hold on her a little more as the wall moved over them and dissipated. Storms were usually over just like that in this strange town. Nobody knows when they are coming or how long they would last. "I'm Daryl." He said with a small smile, the rain still coming down hard even though the worst of the storm was over. "Stay here." He said as he ran across the street and returned several seconds later with his guitar case. He opened it and grabbed a fresh jacket out of the main pocket, throwing it over the girls shoulders. "Since I gave you my name, may I ask yours?" He asked politely, offering his hand to help her up.

Although Hotaru usually avoid others, she hesitantly placed her hand in his, and rose to her feet. "I'm Hotaru...," She mumbles, her eyes focused on the ground.

Daryl understood the subject of not trusting others, so he let her hand drop and picked up his guitar case and put his guitar in it. "We should probably get out of the rain." He said, his wet hair dragging across his face as the wind picked up slightly.

Hotaru looks him in the eye, shivering slightly. Drawing his jacket around her more tightly, she followed him. The rain and wind continued on with suck force, she feared she would be knocked down, or blown away entirely.

Daryl continued toward a small rundown tea shop around the corner and held the door for Hotaru, careful not to let the door slam on her. There were a couple people already in the shop, buying some of the hot chocolate and tea that some city officials brought in. The shop itself was small but cozy, with several boots along the walls, some broken from gangs hanging out here in the past few months. Daryl stuck his hand up with two fingers in the air to signal that he needed two cups of coco at table 4, the only open table.

Although nervous of closed spaces, at least here, Hotaru could dry off, and catch her bearings. She like around, waiting for her long red locks to dry. Keeping a careful eye on the man who had come to her rescue, she took a seat. At least now they were out of the storm... She thought thankfully.

The waitress came back with their hot coco and didn't bother to lay a recepit on the table. The drinks here were free because of the storm. Daryl swept his wet red bangs out of his eyes and took a sip, secretly watching Hotaru behuind the top of the cup.

Hotaru stares into the air, her face almost painfully beautiful as she looses herself in thought. Compleatly unaware of his gaze, she thinks quietly to herself.

"So..." He mumbled, trying to break the awkward silence between them. "Do you have any family near here?" He asked cautiously, knowing it was a touchy subject for certain people. He didn't have a family that he knew of, he was taken from his home at the age of three and brought to a boarding school in the middle of know where, where they taught him weird subjects all day long.
