Daryl sat against the wall, his arm chained above him to a glowing blue panel that he just couldn't access. All that was running through his mind was that there was no hope, just the pure darkness in which he currently sat in. He quietly stood up, careful not to hit the blue panel, and walked over to the bars to his left. They glowed the same blue the panel was, but the bars hurt worse when touched. He still had the burn marks from when he gripped the bars in his first day here 5 years ago. They took him from his family at the age of 14, and brought him to this hellhole. Literally.
Wrapping his hand around the glowing bars, he struggled to loosen the cuff chained to the wall once again. He did this for a couple more minutes before the pain in his uncuffed hand became too much and he jumped back with a muffled cry. There really was no hope was there?

Aries walked around the corridor in mouse form having heard the echo of a human nearby. She scurried along the wall's shadows and twisted her ears around to find the source of the noise. Her silvery eyes scoured the hall until she heard hard breathing through glowing bars down the hall. In the darkness she could see no one else inhabiting the area besides the human trapped behind the bars. Aries quickly shifted back to a human feeling and hearing her bones going back into their normal place with the sudden growth. It had pained her immensely when she started her shifting practices but now it was more of a numbness when she changed.
"Hello?" she whispered through the bars without getting too close. She heard a little bit of movement on the other side but could barely make out a form. There was a blue panel on a wall in the cell and she managed to see a chain connected to it.

"Who's there?" He asked, moving slightly away from the bars encase it was those demon men that tortured him. He knew about the other creatures in this world, he has known since he was 5 years old. Daryl also knew what he was, and will never forget.
"A friend," she replied quietly. "Is there a reason that you are in this cell?" She glanced around the almost pitch black corridor to make sure no one would hear her. Her silver eyes squinted back into the cell but she failed to see more than the blue panel and chain. She flexed her gloved hands to keep herself focused and ready for anything.
"Nope, not any sane reason anyways." He replied, stepping back up to the bars so he could see her. "The people here think that anyone that is "different" deserves to be locked away. I guess I define their version of different perfectly."
"I see," she sighed. Her body changed into the of an insect and she flew through the bars without coming close to touching them. When she landed safely inside the cell, her body formed back into that of a girl's. She swept her hair back out of her view with one hand and looked up to the blue panel above his arm. "I can get you out of this...I hope," she mumbled the last part.
"I wouldn't try." He held up his burnt hand, careful not to hit the bars or the chain. "The chains, bars, and pannel are made from an anti-magic material. As you can see, it burns anything magical upon contact." He explained, sliding down against the wall. The chain was just barely long enough for him to sit down, but not long enough to reach the window several feet above his head.
She studied the chain and squinted her eyes trying to see even the smallest weak point in the metal. The chain was generally smooth but what her caught her eye was a nick in the material on the inside of one of the loops. She hoped it would work as she changed into a wolf. Aries took in a break and leaped up wrapping her jaws around the weakened part. She heard a crack but had to jump down because of the immense pain. Aries held herself back from letting out a sound but shuddered from the burning in her mouth.
Daryl reached forward and pulled her to him, trying to help as much as he could. "I warned you." He said with a mocking smile as his hands glowed a light purple where he touched her side. "Don't worry, I won't try to hurt you. Just trying to help your mouth a bit." He murmured, his hands glowing a slightly darker purple then before.
Aries allowed him to help her but her determination made her shrug him off. She glared at the chain that was still holding on but was damaged by her bite, even if only slightly. She shook off the pain and again leaped at the chain with a slight growl and clamped her teeth on it making another crack but not being able to hold on. Her body limply fell to the floor but she still got up and tried again not even holding on for more than a second. When she hit the floor a second time she changed back into a human with her hair sprawled around her face and her breathing coming out heavily. The burning was overwhelming her but Aries stayed in control of herself and didn't let her frustration get the best of her.
"I'll figure something out. Promise," she whispered still laying on the floor of the cell.

Daryl watched as she threw herself at the chains again and keeled beside her once she fell. "It's ok, I've been in here for 5 years, I haven't seen real sunlight in at least 3." He replied with a shrug, reaching over to where she fell. He could barely touch her because of how far she had fallen from him but he managed to brush his fingers over her arm. "At least you loosened the chain. I might be able to cast a small spell to gradually weaken it, or find a rock to finish it." He added, trying to cheer her up.
"Yea," she sighed feeling pathetically weak for not being able to break the chain. Her body protested when she sat up and came next to him. She groaned and pushed herself up against the wall near him. Around her mouth burn marks started to form but they were beginning to go numb. Her mind wandered what they would do after getting him out of the chains. How would she manage breaking through the cells bars if she couldn't even handle the chain?
Daryl gingerly touched her burn marks with his un-chained hand and the burn marks immediately started to heal a little. The chains made his magic weak, but he could still use it. "I might be able to break it now...." He mumbled, standing up again and walking to where the chain was dented. He inspected it for a second then went running the opposite direction, his arms yanking behind him and throwing him backwards. The plan worked as the chains groaned from being forced apart. "How much is left?" He asked rubbing his sore shoulder.
(Sorry, HS sucks..... I can't get on during the week unless I'm on my cell or I sneak on my laptop....)

Aries looked up at the chain seeing that the chain link was splitting apart slowly but surely. "Another tug and it'll break," she replied. She decided to block out the pain and changed into a larger creature. Her panther muzzle grasped the burning chains and tugged them apart and a piece of the links clattered against the ground. She spit out the metal immediately and sat rubbing her tongue with the back of her paw.
Daryl watched her work the chain once more before they clanked to the ground with a loud reverberating sound. He sat there open-mouthed for a couple seconds then looked back at her. "Now we have to get out of here." He said with a wry smile. He opened his hands and placed them on the wall and the walls started glowing a green color where he touched them. The bricks just disappeared, making a doorway large enough for both of them to fit through sideways.
Daryl hurriedly went through and waited for her to come through, straining to listen for sounds of pursuit.
(Lets assume that it's an above ground prison. )
